Last week, our truck in South Carolina was due for maintenance service; however, the nearest location was unable to service the vehicle so Alex and his team was instrumental in getting the truck towed to another city about 50 miles away to ensure the truck was properly service and safe so that we could to continue to do business with no delay.. All of the trucks are relatively new and after renting from this location multiple times, I have never had any issues. They are very friendly and flexible, if you need to extend or have unforeseen circumstances. Just like any business, if you work with them and understand their limits and capabilities, they will work with you to help you have a positive experience. I felt obligated to write this review seeing a disgruntled customer who clearly was having a bad day, left this location a one star review. I have someone who's not scared to throw out a one star review myself, I can say with confidence that individual was probably just having a bad day. My advice to management would be to ask for more reviews! I know they have a lot of customers who like them as they run on a good business. Myself included.

The instructions posted for reservations/drop off are inadequate and totally lacking respectively, and the workers there will call you "a pain in the ass" for requesting assistance. This is my story: Upon returning the van I had rented 2 days prior, I followed the instructions on the key to look for posted documentation for during-hours drop off instructions. After failing to see any instructions posted I called the contact number listed on the door and spoke to the lady who works there. She came outside and told me to use the mobile app to execute the drop-off and that if she did it there would be a "20 dollar after-hours fee". I was confused at this point because this was around 10 am on a Monday, solidly within the posted business hours. I remarked, "Isn't this within business hours?". At this point she became irate, repeatedly yelling "Are you telling me how to do my job?" and "Give me the keys" while declaring that there would be a 20 dollar fee for not using the mobile app, which I at no point said I wasn't going to use. As her rage escalated so did her threats. The 20 dollar fee became a 25 dollar fee, and she threatened to call the police if I did not give her the keys, all while I'm trying to download the U-Haul app in order to return the van without any extra fees. As my partner came down out of our car to ask what was wrong, all of the sudden this employee did not know what fee I was talking about. She continued to yell at me, and my partner who felt physically threatened at this point, and ranted about how I was "a pain in [her] ass on Saturday and [I was] a pain now." I should point out that we were very polite on Saturday, respectful of her time, and merely asked questions when needed. Eventually, she retreated inside the building for a few minutes before coming back out saying "there would be no fee if I gave her the keys". Wanting to end the ordeal I gave her the keys and went on my way. When I got home I noticed a pending $29.31 extra charge from U-Haul on my credit card.

I have shown up many times and been told (even though I had a reservation) that no cargo vans were available. I have shown up to pick up a van in Buckhead and told I had to go to Suwanee because it wasn't delivered to their location in time. Never was there any apology or even concern for my inconvenience. Well, this month, I went to the Chamblee Tucker location and was greeted by Ms. Zaria Patterson. She was both professional and personable...actually seemed concerned about my needs as a customer. She was very thorough and walked me through everything I was getting with my rental. Fortunately, she was there when I returned and even offered to help me transfer my things from the van to my car. In all of my years as a customer of this company, I have never felt compelled to write anything positive, at all! However, Ms. Patterson deserves recognition for being an outstanding member of your staff. She almost gives me hope for the customer service of your company. I know that personality, consideration, empathy, etc. cannot be taught, but in my opinion, your company should seek out individuals such as Ms. Patterson. I reserved a 26 ft truck online for my move out of Atlanta (tears). I received a confirmation call…read moreabout three days before the pick up. I ended up getting the insurance since my auto insurance wouldn't cover a vehicle of that size. That ended up bringing my total to $671. The pick up was easy. We did a walk around and I was good to go. They want the truck returned full and I mean full as in almost spilling out of the tank. If you don't the gauge won't read as full. Well please be advised that the gas mileage on these trucks absolutely suck! By the time I loaded all my stuff on the 26 footer and got to Gwinett County I had already used close to a 1/4 tank of gas. In their defense all of those types of trucks have crappy fuel mileage. I drove about 750 miles to my destination and spent close to $400 in fuel costs on a half empty truck. Something to consider if you plan on moving.
