I was greeted with a locked door, although an employee was inside. He was arguing with someone. When he saw me he opened the door and yelled for another worker to come inside. The second guy came in, and I was immediately confused. He was in business clothes but was sweating to the point that he was literally dripping onto the floor. He looked like he had just run a marathon through the Sahara. I asked if he was okay and he said yes, that he had just "been lifting outside" on his lunch break. Odd, but whatever, to each his own. The sweaty guy eventually got my my keys and I was off. I completed my move and dropped off the truck. That's when trouble began. I accidentally left a box in the truck, but only realized it after I left. I called the next morning as soon as they opened and asked if I could come retrieve the box. (I had dropped off the keys in the box the night before, and could not get back into the truck). I was told that I could not get the box and that it had already been discarded. I was also charged a $25 clean-up fee, despite asking if I could come take care of the box myself. The people who work here are the worst kind of lazy - they don't provide any up-front help and then won't work with you when you return your rental. They are completely incompetent, and whatever they are being paid is too much. My advice is to avoid this facility and give your business to a place that will let you claim your own box rather than throwing it away before talking to you.

Due to the changes in the mortgage / real estate industry, it has left me needing to get a storage space. So I have been there for over a year now. This manager from day 1 showed compassion and understanding. He has proven to be a very professional, attentive and fair representative of the company. When I leave a voice mail, he returns the call usually the same day. I just want to say Thank you Eric - you go above and beyond for your customers!

But, if you move out before the end of the month, the very nice ladies from customer service will call you to appreciate your business and let you know that they will rent your unit to someone else. I asked if I would get any money back for what I pay for in advance ( pro rate out) and I was told that the policy clearly states that NO pro rate out. Also, I was told that it was mentioned to me about that policy before I signed off which I don't remember if someone have had mentioned it to me. Management tries to make as much money as possible by keeping the pro rated money already paid and on top of that, they are trying to make more money by renting my unit to someone else. I chatted with the girl at the desk and she said it's unfortunately common practice in the corporate storage rental industry to raise rates constantly because they assume you won't move and Public Storage is the absolute worst. Oh, and now for $20/month extra I can "upgrade" to 24/7 access lol. They could easily just give this to their existing customers at 0 cost to themselves, but that would actually be good, ethical business to take care of your existing customers so why on earth would they start now I guess. We needed a space by 1 today and went online around 11 and within 30 minutes on the website and phone everything was handled. The place is brand new clean well run.
