Hunter Storage is located on Hunter Road, but is owned by the same company…read more 123 Storage is located at: 2970 N State Highway 123 San Marcos, TX 78666 We used 123 Storage to store our belongings while we went on an extended vacation. To call it a GIANT, GLARING MISTAKE would be kind. A more appropriate term would be COMPLETE F**K-UP. I will never use this place again, and would be happy if I drove down Hwy 123 and saw a "CLOSED" sign on the facility...not that you'd see it at night. Sorry. Got ahead of myself there. My first gripe... When you're trying to enter the facility, the placement of the keypad makes it damn near impossible to enter the keycode without getting out of your vehicle (unless you're riding up on a bicycle). No, I'm not complaining that the keypad is too high or too low. But it is situated in such a manner that you have to park, get out of your vehicle and then put the code in. I only brought this up in the interest of safety. As a man, this doesn't bother me. But for women, that can be cause for concern...especially when I mention my next issue. Next... The lighting for this place is terrible (nearly non-existent) at night. The only lights are at the front of the facility. The majority of the lights on the outside of the buildings are burnt out or not on. So...although there are cameras, unless they're night vision cameras (which seems unlikely, given that the lights weren't working when we first got the unit, and had not been replaced when we returned 2 months later) they're not going to see anything. So, be prepared to leave your car running with the lights on if you want to see while loading or unloading at night. Thirdly... I called their phone number for 4 days and left 4 different messages before getting a call back. Customer service is near non existent. Finally.... F**king. Mice. Yes. I saw a mouse in my storage unit when I returned. They got into one box of mine, but fortunately nothing of importance was damaged. But does it matter? Does it matter whether they got into a box and chewed on some papers or if they destroyed a Faberge Egg? No. Because the point is, there should NOT be mice in your storage unit. Although the price is right, the value is not. I would advise spending a few more bucks and going with one of the major chains near the area. Stay far, far away from 123 Storage and their other location, Hunter Storage.

When I called to let them know I was done with their service. A month after I cancel my month to month they continue on billing me and threaten me with an auction fee. There was not a trash bin to throw away the ruin items so I left the storage unit unlock.

I previously had a storage unit with another company in Austin where someone tried breaking into the unit by driving through the wall resulting in damage to my stored property. The management knew it had occurred, but never contacted me about it and let me discover it on my own. I am glad I moved my stored items to Bastrop Guardian. As long as Michael is caring for the property I expect to use their service for a long time. My advice to new renters...take the time to read all of the information Michael gives you. It will provide all the answers you need and prevent any misunderstandings. Ive read the negative reviews and checked it out for myself.
