We had issues with Bobcat Movers not taking great care of our belongings. We only had them move furniture and a refrigerator. They didn't bring an appliance dolly, and I SPECIFICALLY told them to be careful with the refrigerator so as not to tear the flooring -- and then they tore up the flooring in our brand new home. They did pay our repair person to fix this but there's no reason they should not have had the proper equipment to move the refrigator as it was on our inventory. We then found a dent in the door of said brand new refrigerator. We then discovered the master bedroom dressor is coming apart, and the drawers no longer work because of this. Also a brand new piece of furniture. They didn't handle things with care. They were in a hurry to get to their next job that afternoon, and quality suffered. For my first time hiring movers, I didn't know what to expect, but Bobcat knocked it out of the park. Blake (manager) called me back and gave me an honest quote the same day with preferred scheduling and emergency contact numbers. The movers texted the night before to confirm. Marcus & Aaron did a great job moving everything safely. I have a lot of vintage and delicate furniture that needed to be handled carefully, which they wrapped and loaded securely into the van. My only disappointment was that my couch cushions ended up getting a little dusty coming out of the van, but I was able to clean them up. I called Bobcat Movers because of a recommendation I got from 2 sets of friends. Blake the owner came out to my moms house to take a look, explain how his procedures work and give a general quote. The great thing about Blake was that he showed up on time, was very professional and he listened and didn't assume. We recieved the official quote and it seemed very fair for the job, so my mom hired him right away. Here's why we hired him He has a 1 time truck charge and not a fee for miles, gas, time ETC.. The 3 moving guys time starts when they arrive at the home not when they leave their office and the clock stops when the last box is taken off the truck not when the return to their office. The fee for moving boxes, if one needed them, didn't seem Excessively high. If the movers needed to take a lunch, they clock out for that. They've been in business for 17 years and it was stated by a eager Freshman at Texas state. Who doesn't want to support that?! The movers were very professional and extremely nice, especially to my 78 yr old mother. In the end, it was a smooth transaction, nothing at this time seemed to be damaged, but I don't suspect anything was (the move was yesterday). As a small business owner, I'm acutely aware of how certain types of local businesses don't get reviewed unless the business messes something up royally - just due to the nature of the business. It's just more fun to review a great new restaurant, book store or brewery than to review your dentist or plumber or moving company. Just the nature of the business, sadly. I'd be remiss to not take the 5 minutes or so and give a shout out to Shawn, David, Blake, Garrett and company at Bobcat Movers. I threw them a pretty wicked curve-ball: move a 3500 square foot record store's worth of inventory/fixtures/supplies/etc. into 2 storage units totaling 500 square feet of storage - on the 2nd floor of a fairly narrow storage facility. It wasn't pretty (we had to resort to stacking vertically); it wasn't easy (entire fixtures wouldn't fit through the hallway); it wasn't ideal (took twice the time we initially estimated) but in the end, it was as good as good be expected and most of the issues we had were either of my doing or just one of those things that happen when you're making a drastic transition like this. So rather than wait until I have a bad move to rail against the moving company who doesn't execute the unicorn that is "The Perfect Move as Seen By Me", I figured I'd type up an endorsement of Bobcat Movers as they did an excellent job and, all things considered, didn't do anything to really tick me off. They turned a tough situation into a pretty positive experience. All the guys were hardworking & friendly. Pricing was good and considerations were taken into the inherent difficulty of the move. We used Bobcat Movers twice. The first time we had a good experience with them, which is why we booked them again. However, the 2nd time we had some issues. 1. Changed time on us. We scheduled a time. When I called to confirm, they asked to come 2 hours later, which we agreed to. The morning of, they were still hour late even after giving them a two hour window. So we got started 3 hours later than we wanted. 2. The time of the move took longer than anticipated. I understand that can happen, however the quote was based on a certain amount of hours and they went over that increasing the price the day of. They may have misquoted to book the business or don't have enough experience to provide an accurate quote based on the size and furniture requirements of the house. 3. Damage to our furniture. During the move our bedroom furniture was scratched as well as a noticeable dent and big scratch to our stainless steel refrigerator. 4. Failure to return calls, emails, texts. We called them several times over the next few days to tell them about the damage and inquire what the next steps were to file a claim with their insurance. We NEVER heard back. Not a courtesy call, not an apology, nothing. I find that to be extremely unprofessional. If your company makes a mistake, own it and try to make it right. Don't ignore the problem, which is what they did with us. 5. Lack of insurance? I don't even know if the company has insurance. You may want to ask that before you book them and request proof. Ask how they handle situations in the event furniture is damaged . We won't make that mistake again. read more

Story time! For my fifth move, I decided to hire some help moving from a 3rd floor 1 bedroom in San Marcos to a 1st floor in San Antonio. After calling a ton of different companies in the area, I found Blake from Bobcat Movers to be most responsive to my questions and concerns, and the rates were appropriate. Although the move-in date and time were scheduled weeks ahead of time, my new complex called me the night before informing me that my place wouldn't be ready the next morning--leaving me to push back the start of the move more than 3 hours--which Bobcat Movers totally accommodated. They showed up with 4 guys instead of 2 so they could get it finished quickly and get to another move they had scheduled that day. These guys loaded up my entire 1 bedroom/kitchen+fully furnished living room in 1 hour. It would have easily taken me 5 hours and tons of beer and pizza to try to get my friends to help. Upon arriving to my new place at the time when I was assured everything would be ready to go, the manager came out to say that the floors had not yet been finished and there was no way to actually move my stuff in yet. I informed Blake about what was going on and he decided to push his other move that day to the next. SO grateful that his other customers were flexible enough to do this and the guys kept a positive attitude...even when the two hour wait we were told turned into 3+. What was pretty much the worst move-in experience I've had was made better by the cheerful demeanor and overall positivity the guys had throughout the process. When they were finally able to unload my stuff, it took them maybe 45 minutes. I highly recommend this company--they kept my stuff safe, were very nice and professional, and were priced fairly. read more

I hired the team to help unload a Uhaul truck this past Saturday. I never had to track the team down, I was kept up to date. I was even called the day before to be told that the one of the crew had an emergency and they were shuffling to still get me taken care of the next day. Then later that night they had another crew member go down. I was thinking crap here it comes they are going to cancel. No, they work it out and got me a two man crew the next morning, these young guys worked their butts off to make sure we got moved into our apartment.
