And to boot...they quoted $4,700 for the move and then hit us with a $5,300 bill, saying their guys worked 30 mins over the quote. The main issue being that they took longer because we had to unpack and find our tools to allow them to use. ***edit to respond to Victoria*** This response is a perfect example of the miscommunication and lack of professionalism. Nobody ever requested to leave a tv up. The day of packing, my husband was playing Xbox and said "whenever yall need to pack this let me know and I'll shut this down". This is also when we discovered that they did not have any tools to remove the TV, so, the TV wasn't going to be removed either way that day. Nobody was ever asked to "make beds" but we paid to have them put together (assembled). The movers also were not met with hostility. You had a group of young men with neck tattoos talking and bragging about their time in prison in front of everyone (including our children). My husband did the responsible thing, which was to address the staff as a whole. I'll mention he also tipped each one $100 bill at the end. We did this because it was apparent that the fault was on managment and not the individuals. They came both days unprepared without proper tools. Two separate groups of movers on two different days being paid to pack, dis-assemble and re-assemble furniture. (How is that possible?) Nobody was ever "cussed out" in person or on the phone. My husband called the very next morning and left a voicemail for the owner that was never returned. This response and lack of accountability again proves why I would never recommend this company.

Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again.

His movers that he hired, to put in my place DID know there was a 2 hr minimum and still asked the girl who opened the door to do most of it, then, they grabbed her butt. I made this move as easy as possible. I locked the cats away, took the drawers from one of the dressers down. They had 4 things to move and I asked (with the 2 hr minimum) to bring down a piece of glass and a filing cabinet, which they assured me they would do and they did not. They left all the dresser drawers in the old apartment as well as the couch cushions and everything else they were supposed to move. I'm concerned they know where I live and would never let them near a place with children. Even after I blocked the phone number of the guy who sexually harassed and assaulted, he then found a new phone number to text from. Completely inappropriate and disgusting, didn't Actually do the move and the owner is taking ZERO responsibility. The worst moving company I have ever dealt with. Do not waste your money…read more This company does not take care of its customers and does not take responsibility for damages caused during the move. The owner, Matt, was friendly and accommodating when I first called for a quote and to schedule my move, but that completely changed once problems came up. During the move, the movers damaged my TV stand while carrying it upstairs. I personally saw the leg break off and they did not realize I had witnessed it happen. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to act as if it had already been damaged, saying, "Oh ma'am, the leg keeps falling off." The leg was not loose before the move. A large chunk of wood had been ripped off the stand. I tried to be understanding and simply asked if they could repair or reattach it. They never did. A few days later, while unpacking, I turned on my TV and discovered that it had also been damaged during the move and was completely broken. I contacted Matt immediately, just as I had done regarding the TV stand. For the TV stand damage, I was offered only $30. When I called about the TV, I was told, "I'm sorry Kianna, I can't do anything about it. I can send you the contract again." Paying hundreds of dollars for professional movers only to have your belongings damaged and then be told there is nothing they can do is unacceptable. The lack of accountability, customer service, and professionalism was extremely disappointing. If you choose this company, understand that if your belongings are damaged, you may be left covering the cost yourself.
