23 Jul 2026 We contracted them for a 'transfer'. They are a family-owned company. We were moving from one apartment in our complex to another. Sylvia came to our apartment a few weeks ago to see the lay of the land. She recommended going by an hourly rate rather than a flat price, because the flat price could change depending on what's encountered. She also emphasized to label boxes well like: master bedroom, kitchen, etc. so we went with hourly rate $165 per hour for three movers. There was an up-charge of $75 because they were also moving a gun safe. They arrived at 8:45am and took a quick tour of our apartment. They explained how they go about it. The movers are Luis, Josue and Juan. What a team. Luis is the leader. Amazingly, they were done in 2.75 hours. This is the furniture for a two bedroom, two bath, den, kitchen, living room , dining area and the balcony we're talking about. Plus all the accompanying boxes for each area. We had boxed up everything we could and labeled as Sylvia had requested. And gave them clear paths as best we could to the major pieces. We had a lot of boxes! They did a good job and most of their employees were nice. There was, however, a man that came in on moving day and started hyper pointing out regular wear and tare on the home and furniture. He seemed over-the-top aggressive in his tone and very quickly got under my nerves. I immediately wanted this move to be over with. Again, most of them were nice, but that one gentleman made me rethink ever hiring them again. Hence, why 4 out of 5 stars. Value wise they were reasonable but not the best price. Their administration is inferior.. left messages that went without answer. Had to chase them down more until finally got someone on the telephone. They suggested an in person quote after their verbal pricing which was much more hourly expense than others. They never followed up with their quote. Would not recommend considering at a time of need they basically are unreliable ignoring potential customers. This group did a stellar job. Seriously. I was forced to move (previous owner=foreclosure) and these guys were amazing! They knew what they were doing, gave solid quote (not $X, then pay by the hour), fair price for all the work- disassembly/reassembly- which was amazing for me!!!, handled with care and completely respectable. *I have done a number of military moves and this was the opposite. 5 stars! I was driving a moving truck from Florida to San Antonio and wasn't sure my arrival date. They were very flexible. They basically said just tell us two days in advance and we'll make it happen. My driveway was so steep we couldn't back in so they had to carry it from the street up the driveway and it was steep. They worked fast and worked carefully. The team was great. Finished in 2.5 hrs with some assembly. They are the most responsive, straightforward and easy to work with movers that we've ever dealt with. I will call them next time for sure. I was moving from a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment and had a storage unit. The movers met us at storage unit to clear that out, then cleared out my old apartment in a very reasonable time. Had a great experience using Martinez Movers. Requested a bid via Yelp for 2 workers for two hours to help load our U-Haul truck. Silvia did a great job communicating via Yelp and text. They impressively arrived 20 minutes early for the 9:30 appointment and made a great recommendation that allowed us to have a 26 foot truck loaded in less than 2 hours. They brought several dollies and even though we had already wrapped certain items, they brought plastic wrap and wrapped everything else (couches, mattresses, washer/dryer, etc.) - at no additional cost!
