However, my experience with YSP has been an exception to the latter. Ever since the first phone call when I set up my first two units with YSP, the staff has been exceptional in their help, advice and flexibility. I am now renting unit number five from them in my preparation to move abroad once again. They have always acted in ways that serve my best interests rather than only being concerned with their own needs as I have found other storage facilities often do. They are willing to go the extra mile to insure I want to use continue to use their facility. In my history with other storage facilities, the reverse of this attitude has often been my experience with the facility operators usually threatening the fact that they have waiting lists, yada, yada, yada. They even sent you your storage number by email. We had to stop at the office and they explained everything to us. It was soo easy. When we walked inside, we had a little baggie with instructions, and our lock. So, we canceled the pricey one and saved some $$ by getting a climate control one. Eventhough I am not storing documents in here... the other one was full of insects, spiders, and other yucky little creatures. This one will be cleaner than the other one...Sweet!!!

Not only were they the cheapest in the area but Liza the girl up front is the absolute sweetest! She got me a unit quickly and is always available if I have questions. They advertise in HUGE letters their "FREE" moving truck (for customers) and they even park it proudly outside. I thought "well that's a nice service to offer their customers, I will reserve it instead of a U-Haul." It looks a little old and banged up, and so I further assumed this just was a friendly service available solely for the benefit of the customers and definitely not to make any sort of profit. No. VERY DECEITFUL MARKETING. I was informed AFTER the truck was returned that the "rental itself" is free, but that SurePoint charges $.59/mile along with a mandatory $15 insurance waiver (I was unable to waive this option either). After those charges and re-fueling I was out nearly $100 for the FREE truck. I have never rented a U-Haul for moves that didn't span different cities, but I have a very hard time imagining that a U-Haul or comparable truck would cost anything near that. The truck was an old 2005 model with ~55,000 miles. At the $.59/mile, that comes out to nearly $32,450 in revenue thus far.. NOT a free service. For the depreciable life of the truck which I would assume would be roughly 125,000 miles, that comes out to $73,000, which is FAR more than the truck would have cost in the first place, even if purchased new and not an old 2005 model. That is not free. That is profit. Not to mention that the truck is plastered with the company name and my move around town is a ton of advertising. The giant "FREE" decals on the truck are starting to peel.
