Instead of helping or answering simple questions, he talked down to me and acted like I was inconveniencing him just by being there. It was honestly shocking how dismissive he was. Just rent with another company. Unfortunately, this "lovely" place jacked up the price of the unit after a short amount of time. I've been having to deal with paying the unit on behalf of a friend going through hardships, and I see a "pre foreclosure fee". and I spoke to a gentlemen there a while back to try to establish a payment plan, or something. But they were not willing to work with me on anything. Rude employee, jacked up prices, and inability to work with you to get caught up with payment. Honestly, I am not surprised at the lawsuits extra space storage has had in the past years. I'm surprised they haven't had more! Also noting the fact that she hasn't received any written notices of delinquency either, which I'm sure they are required to send out? Anyways, rent with another company. My mom used a storage unit here for about 2.5 years, and the experience was fantastic! Her items were in excellent condition, which speaks volumes about the care taken. When we finally moved everything out, the owner went above and beyond--keeping the door open for us and providing chairs and water. Such friendly and accommodating people! Extra Storage in Rialto on Riverside Ave. If you're elderly, on a fixed income income, I would say DO NOT USE THEM, THEY INCREASE THEIR PRICES EVERY 6 MONTHS, WHICH IS NOT TOLD TO YOU UPON SIGNING THE CONTRACT. When I started using them in January 2024, the price was 66.00, then to 90 now 121. In addition, the lights are on a timer and will shut off after a short period of time, maybe 10 minutes. So you'll have to keep walking to where the sensors are so that they go back on. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE DANGEROUS, POSSIBLE TRIP, AND FALL ACCIDENTS IN THE DARKNESS, UNSAVORY CHARCTERS MAYBE LURKING IN THE AREA. I have been with this facility since 2011 when it was called "A storage place" then things changed dramatically since extra space took over! When it was A Storage Place the rent only increased once a yr, if that. Some extra space took over they raise it constantly for no reason! Due to a divorce/custody battle that has been going on for 12 years and counting I have been stuck here for that reason. There has never been any updating or added amenities or anything to justify raising it such extreme amounts pretty much quarterly! So many managers have been understanding and tried to help throughout the years with adjusting rent increases that were ridiculous and when no notice was given, most of the time. For increases as high as $45-70 every couple months is unheard of! People wouldn't have to have help with adjustments if the company understood that the amount they keep raising rent so frequently, people can't keep up! Also, people that are in customer service roles, like managerial, should have common decency and compassion when talking to people. People are dealing with not only personal hardships but also inflation, layoffs, hours being cut, etc, and how hard it is not being able to afford things, like food and utilities most importantly, but also storage units when people lose their homes, due to reasons out of their control, and don't have anywhere to keep their belongings until they are able to find another job or another place to live, because of big companies taking advantage of people during those hardships. It's sad and unfortunate that the ones that actually care and try to help either quit or move to other locations and the ones that don't have good customer service skills are the ones brought in and have attitudes and have no understanding or compassion for people. Mike was amazing but he retired, Naomi was awesome but moved to another store, Art was cool and helpful but moved to another store, Holly was cool and helpful but moved to another store, I dealt with Shannon (male) last year and he was very cut and dry and didn't care what you had to say, he only wanted you to leave a 5 star review saying I was happy with him, and now he's back again and didn't let me get a word in and said what I was going through was not their problem and since I've already had adjustments made there's nothing he can do. Well I have had to have adjustments made because nobody can afford quarterly increases without notice and $45-70 raises ea time, minimum! I am disappointed in this facility and will be getting out as fast as I can and will be going to another facility that actually cares about people and doesn't try and take advantage by such extreme price hikes! I'm not the only one that is upset with this company. You can Google how many lawsuits they have about their pricing "policies" I just found out before leaving this review. read more

Ive been with these guys for 7 months and this is the 2nd time i just received a new monthly pay increase without them notifying me. I got had gotten a great deal online for a 10*10 for only $82 a month and now with this new one im at $142. And without them notifying me first so i can start looking for a different location. When I signed up, they never told me about price increase or none of that till now so if you're planning to come to this location or any other extra space storage locations, make sure you ask him that if you find a deal online otherwise they're gonna keep on raising the monthly payment, so good luck read more

at first i thought this was a decent price but not even three months in they wanted to start charging double for the storage i was renting. Not only did i not sign an agreement when i signed up but after they started trying to charge me double they forced me to sign and it felt like harassment the way they constantly called me during my work hours over this agreement that i was never given. my stuff had been already moved in by then, two months to be exact, and it was not like i could just leave then and there.. i spoke to two people on the phone regarding this and they let me know storage prices where changed based on demand but some of these storages start off at like $50. i started paying 88 at first and within two months i was receiving a notice to start paying almost double that amount. i was told as well that they price i had to start with was not the promotional price that they had online and when they wanted to charge me more they told me my promotional price had changed, but i was not under the promotional price, which was the online price. i'm very unhappy with how unprofessional they are here, shannon specifically, but also with the non transparency regarding the price. will be moving out and never returning read more

they lie about their policies and charge outrageous prices and send collections while selling all my metal stock after I tried to move out several times to find my key did not work with the lock they swear they didn't change.... i spent and lost tens of thousands ultimately due to this and a lot of time. They try to just spam call you but I paid their excessive fees... double others. I rented trucks specifically to move out and it wasted my few opportunities to come move it out and meanwhile I keep being charged 600 a mo nth when I should've been out long before but I keep paying auction process and late fees. Had my unit broken into. They didn't have camera's inside the building, and no camera outside aimed towards the area of my unit. So nobody was caught. Lost many valuable things. I didn't feel like they were a lot of help either when I found out. Even the insurance company made things very difficult. It's already hard enough to lose personal items. Rialto PD helped even though they had little evidence provided by Extra Space. I can't trust this place. read more

We moved into Extra Space in Rialto in June, 2022. We called their toll free number and were recommended this 10 x 10 space in Rialto CA because it was cheaper than their other facilities nearby. My husband approved it visually after visiting. The price was $112 a month. When my husband went inside to sign up, there was a lengthy contract on an Ipad. Little did we realize that THE LAST LINE of the lengthy contract stated that rents could be raised ANY TIME. So, in Sept 2022 we got a notice of a 65% rent increase to $183 effective Oct. 2022. There was never any mention that the $112 was a "promotional rate" that could change at "anytime" for any amount. Do your research. This is VERY COMMON PROBLEM. Better Business Bureau.org.... Extra Space, Cottonwood Utah. Read an beware. PS - Public Storage never acted this way and another company in North Carolina. Extra Space has figured it all out to get just what they wanted. read more

Our RV was broken into. They could not provide any information or help us figure out info on the break in. We lost MECHANICAL engine parts of the RV.
