Gary for some reason has a rude demeanor every time I come to the storage and now I feel uncomfortable every time I go during the day when he's working He also makes sure to tell be to keep clean but in a rude way every time I go witch is ridiculous because you only need to tell me once Because of Gary I switched storage to the extra space storage in Alhambra and it's been a lot better since I don't see any employees around ever. read more

WARNING: This place is infested with rats and your items will be drenched in rat sh*t. They "changed management" or switched to a different franchise name, but their personnel is the same as before ~ to avoid lawsuits (which is so illegal). Everything went well. I didn't know how long I'd need this storage unit. I was moving from a house to a mini studio, so I had an excess amount of stuff to deal with. I initially rated this place 5 star because they are friendly and cheap, but I have to change it because in less than a year, I went from $87 a month to $148 a month to now $191 a month. I get inflation, but over 100% increase in less than a year? I will be moving my stuff somewhere else or even just buying a storage shed that would pay itself in 2 months worth of renting. Don't waste your time or money. When I called to complain last time, they said "this is what all storage companies do" and that we are all on a promotional rate. read more

HORRIBLE company. I called the 800 national line and made a simple inquiry. I never gave them my phone number. This guy then calls me twice despite telling him I would sue him and Extra Space Storage for spam and harassment. He ended up SCREAMING at me telling me why did I call? I chose not to go use this place after reading about rats and break-ins. This confirmed how horrible this place really is. He messed with the wrong guy as I'm an attorney and will sue Extra Space Storage in the LA Superior Court for this undeserved malicious spam calls. read more

I used this place when it was called Pasadena Mini Storage and they allowed rats to roam free throughout the units. Those reviews have gone now because of the new name. ALL of my belongings and I mean all of it, was effected by rats chewing on my books - through boxes to get to them and worst of all, my beautiful couch was ruined because the rats used it as a toilet. Gary didn't want to know about it when I removed all of my belongings and there was a huge pile of rat pooh in the middle of my unit. I doubt if anything has changed. RENTER BEWARE! I would NEVER rent from these guys ever again. I have many many photos of the damages. read more

This extra space storage has to have some of the best most responsive and caring managers and workers I know. Everyone I've had contact with from the Manager Gary to JJ at the front desk has been super friendly and even remember me like if I was a regular from the beginning. This place has the cheapest rates in town while providing a safe clean place to store my things. They have even installed a new elevator lift since I started renting. Besides everything good you should expect with a storage place, this particular location is just super friendly and a pleasure to visit. Gary the manager Is a genuinely honest and helpful person and will go out of his way to help you with any concerns and questions you might have. I can honestly say I hope they never change the staff here because they are absolutely excellent and have been from the beginning with me. This is my first time renting a storage unit and I've got to say that JJ provided me with great customer service.

Great customer service from Gary from the start. The rental started in 2020, at approximately $141 per month for 10x10. To date they gave increased twice approximately $80 each year. They also added an extra $16 per month for insurance. Craziness - What a rip off. read more

If I could leave a zero star review for the so called manager Gary I would! I cannot believe he has the title of manager to be honest. If it weren't for JJ's customer service and support, I would move my business elsewhere. Gary phoned my husband and we could not hear him on the other end, there was no sound (go figure technology) finally as we were attempting to call back he called through and we were finally able to hear him. Right away Gary had an attitude with my husband, raising his voice accusing my husband of hanging up to avoid his payment. We were both in shock as we explained we couldn't hear anything on the phone and he said well now you have a late fee! Unit was broke in not once, not twice, but 3x!!!! Half the books were eaten by rats, and the rest of the was covered in their waste. Thats right rat poop and pee. Then! they had the audacity to raise my rate by double! Customer service is horrible, the people at the location say they're limited by the parent company, but then you call corporate and they say huh. Hours are bad as well. I don't understand why they close early on weekends. The time you'd imagine it would be the busiest. Do yourself, and your possession a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Extremely unprofessional and fraudulent. I paid for a room at the Pasadena location, and days later arrived to add more items to my space, but the entire store was locked and nobody answered any phone line for the business. I had to buy a unit at another company to store my things, and went the next day to Extra Storage and was granted a full refund, leaving the lock with the manager. Months later, I was called by a collections agency, claiming I left my unit locked (untrue) and therefore owed money, forcing me to pay money to avoid escalation of the issue. The manager and company did not deliver the product I paid for, and lied in order to get money from me after I was granted a refund. read more

This location used to be Mini Storage, but now it's an Extra Storage location. The new management is revamping the site little by little. I recently had difficulty accessing my second-floor unit because of logistics. JJ and Izzy went above and beyond with assisting me and accommodating me with what I needed to get my belongings into my space safely with the limited resources we had(the location is currently waiting for a few building/city approvals to go through and approved). Additionally, JJ kept all promised communications and always got back to me when he said he would--keeping me up to date on status updates. Overall very happy with with the new team and how they are handling everything. read more

This location use to be Pasadena Mini storage. Rates use to fit our budget but this new company came in and raised rates to unaffordable prices. New staff members are very rude and not trained very well to communicate with the public without attitude. Not to mention this location has a very bad rodent problem. read more

I'll echo what Nancy F. stated. This place is rodent infested. Extra Space Storage has now taken over and within 6 month's has raised the monthly rate by $80+. This, after sending out a notice of mgmt change with a statement "As we update the property, it is not likely that you will be impacted". A $80+ increase IS an impact and a negative one. Overall bad decision and business and I'll be taking mine elsewhere unless they correct this egregious increase and soon. read more

i had a minor issue with my monthly payment. i went online to review the facility's reviews and i seen that JJ i had alot of good comments. i contacted Extra Space Storage and JJ was able to help me with my issue, he suggested different things i can do with my issue and was able to get back to me on what we had talked about. im glad he did, he help me out. thank you again JJ. read more

This is my first time using this storage and I was blown away by JJ's customer service, I had wished I would of been able to choose a location closer to Pomona but because of my budget I chose this particular location in Pasadena on arroyo. But after meeting JJ I changed my mind, he waited until I had finished unloading my uhaul even though it was closing time and he even gave me a free cover for my Queen size mattress seeing I didn't have any cover for my matress. This place is old, but seems safe. The manager Gary is very helpful. Extra Space took over the storage this year. I can see they're making improvements on the property like putting 2 new lifts to the upper floor. I'll continue to recommend Extra Space. read more

This is my first month using this storage facility and so far everything has gone smoothly. Gary was very helpful and friendly setting me up with my unit. He seems to be available and responsive to communication and questions. I was a little concerned with the state of the place as it is a little run down, but honestly the stuff I need to store doesn't require anything fancy, just something secure and safe which is what it is so far. I was also worried about there not being elevator access, but the stairs didn't end up being an issue and Gary said that a forklift could be available if needed. The price I got was the most affordable for the size I needed compared to the other options here in Pasadena. I see some reviews regarding break-ins, so I will keep that in mind and stay in contact with Gary regarding the status of my unit since I won't be able to physically check on it for a few months. read more
