I rented here and paid extra for 24- hour access since we were in the middle of moving, I stayed overnight just compressing our stuff to fit it more properly since we had a lot of items and the next morning the property manager told me to vacate as soon as I could. I explained to him that I only stayed to make more room for my other stuff we were bringing and he said he was sorry but I had to move as soon as possible. Not only that but there were two instances when I seen little dead mice in the storage areas, not mine but in the hallways. read more

I leased online for a special deal, got to the property, checked in with John lickety-split. He remembered me from before and his service along with the site conditions warrant a continued 5 start rating. This portion is from 2 years ago: Kudos to John for being friendly yet professional, informative without being wordy and making us feel valued and welcome. After 9 months of occupancy has come to an end, my five star rating is sustained. Absolutely no problems with Ingress or egress from the facility, common areas of always remain Clean and Free of debris, office has always been very responsive to any needs or requests and, access hours are excellent. I am disgusted with this place. First rat problems and now dog problems. Last Wednesday (9/14) I stopped by my storage to drop something off. Luckily, I went right before they closed so there was still an employee on the property. I had to have the guy clean up two separate piles of dog poop. This wouldn't be my first incident with dogs on the property. On the 11th, I went at night and there were some idiots letting their dog roam around without a leash. I went back last night (9/24) and yet again a nice pile of dog poop. Very irritated that dogs are allowed on the property and pissed off that people are lazy pet owners and probably found it to be funny. I have been a customer since 2010 (before it was Extra Space Storage) and this has been worst experience ever. I had to spend 2 hours cleaning up rat pee/poop off of my belongings. Switched units and now I have to worry about dog poop. read more

Before moving in I asked how often they raise the rent and was told 6-9 they review the going rate for units in the area. 2 months after moving in they raised my rent. Looked at the 3 other storage units on the same street for the same unit is 150-200 cheaper. FMV my butt.... If you do rent from here make sure you don't accidentally lock your keys and phone in your car cause they will call the police to have you comply to exit the grounds. Tow truck called me 10 mins after I broke my window that is $1100 to fix to say he was there. Thanks for being so understanding for my situation during this holiday season. read more

I have no idea why 4 stars showed up on this review the first time. I had to throw 6 sets of mattresses and 2 sofas in the dump because they were covered with rat droppings and urine.. This company has been known to have rats. I was unaware of that until I picked my stuff up. Had to throw away all of my mattress (6 sets) and my couches which had rats nest in them. If there were some way to give them a negative rating I would! I could not even clean the rat waste that fell off of all my stuff for fear of some disease. They offered nothing to repay my 4 bedroom house hold except a threat threatening bill that I had not paid my rent. This was done but their records did not show it. Disgusting!! read more

I just rented an RV space month ago. Within the first month my RV was broken into. Management seems like they don't even care and they don't", just like the other review mentioned the security is basically none existent. There were no security cameras towards the back, they do not enforce people tail gating in and out. They allow junk to be stored. I am in the process of looking for a new place to move my RV out immediately. If your thinking of using this facility reconsider unless you want your unit or RV broken into, that is my experience and the experience from other people that have used this facility and whom I have spoken with. read more

Far and away....the most convenient and easy storage experience I have ever had. We only needed the storage unit short term but I couldn't be any more pleased with the service. John made the move-in simple and the units are very easy to access. When we moved everything out, I simply informed the gentleman that we didn't need the unit anymore. I called over a month ago to speak about reserving a space for my furniture. I spoke with Ashley and the process took less than five minutes. Last Thursday I got a call from John reminding me of my check-in date. I needed to reschedule because I had a lot on my agenda. He was flexible enough to tell me to name a date and time and it was game on. Today when I arrived, they emitted nothing but positive energy. I have a 28 foot trailer and was not able to find a place for RV storage with openings until I called Extra Space. They were very nice and organized and sent me a text with all of the info needed. I was able to get the lease started online and when I got there it took just a few minutes in the office and then on to park the trailer. John, the onsite manager came over and helped me to park the trailer and it went smoothly. Ashley helped with the checking it. The property is clean and laid out well and enough room to maneuver my truck and trailer. The customer service was great and they were running a special and I got the first month for free! I was anxious about where to store my items since I had not moved in over 35 years, and I have a lot of items that I cherish. I called several storage facilities before deciding on Extra Space Storage in Oxnard, and it was the manager, John, at this location that sealed the deal. He was extremely helpful and professional in every way. He answered all of my many questions, and phone calls, and never rushed me to get off the phone. From calling around and mapping other storage facilities, I discovered that some of the others were not in neighborhoods I would want to be in by myself, and many do not have an onsite manager that lives on the property, which is awesome if you think about it! I was told by another ESS manager where I actually did my paperwork where I am moving from, that they drive around and do a lock check every day. There is a sticker on your lock and you and the staff can tell if anyone has tampered with your lock. Incredible service. And I got the first month free : ) I am very pleased with my decision to store my valuables at the Oxnard location. On move-in day, Ashley was on-site and she was very eager to help in any way.
