The management of this place is absolutely terrible and unhelpful when issues arise. Don't trust anyone here or from the company even a little bit. Initially, everything seemed great. The security was decent, there was plenty of space, and the temperature was controlled to a comfortable level. It was worth the slight premium. It was a bit annoying that access wasn't 24/7 considering how much we paid, but I could overlook that. Then, prices started increasing every few months. I understand that the entire industry does this, but it seemed excessive. Then, they began construction on the second floor. The noise, dust, and inconvenience were bothersome, and there was no compensation. Thankfully, I wasn't forced to move on my own dime like others. One day, I came to start unpacking and noticed a section of our belongings that had water damage. Initially, I thought it was caused by a leaking pipe, but upon closer inspection, water was flowing down from the second floor, rolling along the I beams and dripping onto our stuff for who knows how long and how much. It seems to be the same issue as this review: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ShTjDuewUGoj2wad9?g_st=ic. All attempts to resolve the issue ended with the company stating that since I didn't use their insurance, they couldn't offer any compensation, replacement, or rental refund. This seems unreasonable and goes beyond the terms of the contract that absolves them from liability. Either the roof, second floor, or both were not properly constructed, allowing water to flow along the I beams. You can see rusted water drop marks on multiple I beams. These beams are completely exposed and there's nothing installed to protect the storage units from water or debris from the second floor. Since they were aware of the issue from the review I mentioned earlier and didn't take any action, it appears to be gross negligence. I also highly doubt that they would even consider addressing the real issue and refunding partial rent if we had their insurance. Regardless of whether we have insurance or not, the website guaranteed dryness and a storage satisfaction guarantee. If you decide to stay here, make it a short stay, cover your belongings completely, and request a different unit if you have any beams or pipes above your unit. And pray that nothing else goes wrong. read more

Do you like a frequent unexpected price increases? How about a price increase during the holidays?? Does looking for somewhere else to store your stuff to avoid the next 100+ price increase sound like a good time to you? If so, this is the place for you. It's safe, as all storage units are indoor behind a door needing a code. But now a year later I'm looking for another storage place because I don't want to switch to a cheaper unit just to be met with more $100+ price increase. That first quote is good for about 4-7 months. Good luck. read more

Price gouging should be illegal for storage. I was quoted under $60 for 90 days. Within 30 days the rent increased to $176. I rented this storage until in February. Today I got an email stating the rent will be increasing 7/1/26 to $254. Stay away! read more

When I first started storing here I loved it! Always clean, staff/management were always flexible and understanding but now??? This place has gone DOWNHILL! They are definitely under a new owner and management , the price gauging is INSANE! I tried calling multiple times to speak to management but never got my calls returned, but oh..be a few days late on your bill you're getting blown up with calls from the man himself it seems. In all my years there , never had pest issues but now there's rat droppings all over my unit and when I told them about it all they said was "oh maybe one got into your unit from someone else's" and I was like don't you have pest control? Is there something you can do? And they told ME to go buy mouse traps and put them in my storage... Over the past year the price I paid for my small until has gone up almost 100 dollars and they upped the late fee like crazy! The new management are not hospitable or accommodating at all. If you are looking for storage do not be fooled by their new tenant deals they have because I asked someone working there why is my unit going for 75 right now when I'm getting charged over 200 and they told me it's a new tenant deal that's only for a few months and once that time period is over they'd be paying same as me. So I was like you would up the price from 75 to over 200 in the span of a few months? And he basically had an attitude of "I don't make the rules" so newcomers , beware if you need this place for more than a few months! I'd avoid this place and I'm definitely going elsewhere STAT! read more

Go to literally any other storage place besides this one! They jacked up my monthly charge by $90, 45%, less than 4 months in. They know they have you over a barrel once you've moved your stuff in, don't let them do it to you too! read more

Disgusting. Do not rent here. In the 8 months we rented there the price went up twice, first bill was $129 third bill was $166, two months after that it went to $197. We cleaned out our unit and found mouse poop and pee all over the unit. It was not like that when we moved in. I brought it to their attention and they said "yeah we know don't worry we clean it" excuse me!?? So you knew you have a mouse problem on SECOND STORY INSIDE UNITS and that's not a problem for you?? The reason we decided to store out stuff here was because they advertise 24/7 availability but that in fact isn't true. You can only access your stuff from 6am-10pm. When I asked why they advertise 24/7 she said "well we are available by phone 24/7" for what?? Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

This is a newer storage facility and it's nice and clean. The place is huge and I imagine that's why it's so expensive. I feel bad about only 3 stars but I only stayed with them for 2 months because their prices were so high. They were conveniently located for me and the personnel were very nice however. Although I went to the office twice during business hours and no one was there. A tip to them....hire me! I need a part time job!! read more

When I first came in the customer service worker sold me on the storage facility for my trailer. I love the fact that it was covered storage to protect my trailer. Haven't had any issues until recently. Within this year I have reduced two emails that they were raising prices $100ish the next month. Now it's pretty much $500 to store a trailer... it's just a parking space. I understand it's a corporate company but they don't seem to care how it affects people. I know a few people that have complained about the price as well. Pretty much going to have to leave and find another place because these prices are ridiculous and it's unfair how they think they can raise prices every few months as it pleases them. They also don't seem to care when I called and asked why.... Or offer a deal. read more

GOD have Mercy ! SO Distraught and Dissatisfied with the lack of communication. Also the outrageous price increases. First of all I have never found it necessary to write a negative review . I have been a loyal customer for a few years after family members passing away . After renting our first unit . The rent began to slowly increase , eventually going up about $60.00 I lost my job due to the salon closing mid December 2025 . Having to pack up and move a large room of massage equipment. I went over to storage inquiring about a larger space . The staff was understanding and helpful. They said, they had a special which still appears on their website . It was 3 months at 1/2 price with the unit costing $ 258 starting April 1st 2026. We'll the traumatizing harassing began sometime in January . I had to call the center every other day in hopes of avoiding late fees . I received a preliminary lein notice with multiple emails . All along I have never been late on a payment with previous space. Not only did I lose my place of business , have to move , get ready for the Holiday's with them in my face constantly with threats . I never was able to speak with a manager or owner. Once they started getting money they backed off . I have Never found a business with such GREED . By March I was making full payment even without working . April I received an notice by email there will be an monthly increase. Today's price $ 258 with $12 for insurance. Starting May 1st the price will be $358 really $370 which is a $100.00 increase in a few months . This should be illegal and I am disappointed and sick to my stomach . Lisa P. read more

The nightmare continues. Kevin calls and said they agreed to lower the increase. I thought he meant the total bill was now $180.55. That would mean an increase from $174 to $180.55. About 4% instead of 27%. I suppose I can stomach that even if I've only moved in 4 months ago. More billing issues (which he warned and turned off autopay so I wouldn't be overcharged. Much appreciated there) as expected. A couple days later his supervisor credited the difference which he informed me on another call. Then when I went to pay the bill today I realized. My exact unit size, and conditions, was going for $98 online. On top of that, my rent is $180.55 PLUS the insurance plan $17 making it $197.55 total. This equals a 13.5% increase overall from Octobers $174. Better than the original % but wow. A new customer would be paying half what I am. I guess their plan is just to raise their rent after 4 months as well. Unbelievable. In all my years of various storage facilities I've never encountered this. I had used this facility a couple years ago for about a year and didn't have this insane predatory increase and pricing structure which is why I came back. I had even recommended it to others. Now I'm doing the exact opposite and telling everyone to STAY AWAY FROM HERE. read more

My experience here from first call into to location talking with Brad and Kevin was great talking on the phone and then in person roughly 4 months ago, it's a very clean facility safe excellent lighting great access hours. Kevin as the location manager cares about the facility and taking care of customers and so the company and location and its customers are very fortunate to have someone who cares and has excellent customer service, I've had several nice conversations with him. I also had the fortune of having a conversation with Vance from another location and helping out Camarillo wirh its staffing needs, he was very nice and very helpful with information and so on . I have visited my unit many times and never had a problem. Thank you to management for keeping a clean and safe place.. read more

Okay this is my second review. I've been meaning to do this for months but just been too busy. My last review I complained about the cost increases and the fact that they made me move to the other side of their facility without compensating the $400 I had to spend to hire movers. We had a full storage unit with lots of heavy furniture so we couldn't do it ourselves. I got a call from the facility, by the way the people who work there are great I've never had an issue with them I really like them I'm talking about corporate here, and they asked what they can do to make it right. They said that someone from the corporate and ask them to reach out and make it right so I appreciated that. So I told them what I really want is a free month or even half price or something to compensate me for the money I had to spend to move because they decided to remodel. He went back to them and they refused. Now I will give them credit they didn't raise my monthly rate to the new rate that they were trying to charge me so I save about $100 there but it's still the principle of the thing. When you ask someone to spend $400 because you decide you need to remodel your facility you should not expect your customers to pay for that! Again the people who work they were great and the guy I talked to kept getting back to corporate and telling them what I wanted but apparently they refused. So keeping my one star. read more

DO NOT use this place. I've used storage units for over a decade for my work and while prices do go up over time at other facilities this places raises it every 3 months a significant amount. The employees are generally friendly but every time I go into the front office there is someone complaining about their price increase. I've seen at least 5 employees rotate through in my year here. It's just a crap company. Don't do it there are better places. Whoever owns it should be ashamed of their bad business practices. read more

Because of their construction, tenants were required to move units. Items in the unit I moved to were water damaged because of the contractors in June 2023. I am still waiting for the claim to be resolved. In September, tenants were asked to move yet again. When I asked to see the unit they are providing for me, it was smaller than the unit I was forced to move into earlier in the year and they were not able to accommodate me so I told them on Sept 2 I was moving my things out which I did on Sept. 9. I was told I would get a refund, and that has still not happened despite my numerous phone calls and visits to the office. Very poorly managed facility. read more

I recently purchased and moved into a storage unit this week (Wednesday) and it was the best decision. The two guys working the leasing office were super helpful and incredibly nice. They made the entire process so easy and were gracious enough to show me around. They even brought me a cart to make moving my boxes even easier. The storage unit itself was super clean and temperature controlled. It felt very safe as there are cameras in every corner. I do not feel worried about leaving my items in the unit for extended periods due to the increased level of measures they take to protect the units. I plan to write another review once I return back for my things but so far this will be my go to spot for renting a unit. Also the company does a lot of deals and I got my unit for half off the first two months which is amazing! read more

What a stupid place!! You don't get storage units, because you have to move stuff at a minutes notice. People live out of state and have storage units for exactly same reason. Due to construction offered to move my 10x10 unit to 2 smaller 10x5! Great, happy to work with you guys! But see the pics to the units they are offering! It was almost get the f out kind of deal... so f you guys back. !!!! No thanks, for just adding up the work load !! Super nice and efficient. Clean too!! Units are easy to access and staff is wonderful.

Great outdoor covered RV parking, nice people and easy access. I would recommend this location to anyone.

BEWARE!!!!! In my opinion this is the most UNETHICAL BUSINESS! They may have a nice building and helpful staff, but the owner's business practices are not to be believed! You can expect to be lured in with initial discounts like half off for 2 months and then get ready for RENT INCREASES that happen often. The most outrageous thing is I was recently given a SIGNIFICANT RENT INCREASEE THAT IS MORE THAN WHAT THEY ARE ADVERETISING FOR THE SAME REGULAR PRICED SPACE! In other words, I am being told I have to pay more than what they charge others that are new! On March 17th I wrote to the manager/owner to tell them this is unacceptable, and no one has responded to my email complaint. I have called over 5 times and left messages and I have yet to receive a call back to discuss this matter. I only want to pay for the regular priced space of my rental. It's clear they don't want to address this matter with me! I am a principal oriented person and my need to take steps to protect my rights. read more

Very patient and helpful. Had trouble with the locks and the gentlemen walked me through everything so I didn't feel clueless.

You guys need to tell people the online price you quote and show on your site isn't the actual price. When every dollar counts it would be nice if you showed the price with the $14 dollar insurance you force on them if they don't have rental insurance Transparency means a lot these days. Also the first 2 months half off doswnt jive either. What would of been $85 and change come to over $130 after the $30 fee + the $20 dollar lock + the insurance comes to over $133! Also I don't feel any climate control upstairs. It's hot as hell up there Having it set at 85-90 isn't very comfortable.. read more

I found what appeared to be a great storage company, and a unit for a reasonable price. I rented the unit for $299, signed a contract, and paid the initial fees. I made arrangements to move in on March 9, 2025. I made a call to the Camarillo location to ask a question before the move-in date. During that conversation, I was told that a mistake had been made, and they had to change my unit to another which was much more inconvenient. I didn't have a major problem with that, but I was also told that SecureSpace has a policy (which was not in the contract) that the rental fees would definitely increase every four months. If the increases were $50 a quarter, my rate would have increase by 66% for the first year only. That four month increase policy would continue indefinitely. The representative could not tell me how much the increases would be each quarter. I told him that their operation was a scan to suck people in with a reasonable rate, get them to move all of the stuff, and then increase the rates dramatically because most people might not have the time or money to move out after four months. He told me that is just the way it is. I immediately cancelled my contract, and absolutely dodged a bullet. Please make sure you know about these increases at SecureSpace, and many other storage companies who are doing the same. Even if it isn't specifically stated in the contract (i.e. "Rates are subject to change), make sure you ask the right questions before renting any storage space. I've submitted a report to the Federal Trade Commission. read more
