What a nice, clean facility. It's tucked away in a quiet residential area, far from the busy main streets. I needed a place to store a car and had absolutely zero issues during the several months I rented there. The unit I got was excellent -- very spacious with plenty of room to work with. One thing I really appreciated was how little traffic there was. In the 6+ months I rented, I honestly never ran into other tenants in that particular building. Heather's customer service was outstanding -- friendly, professional, and very easy to work with. Both Heather and Kim went above and beyond trying to retain me as a customer by helping keep my original rental rate despite the upcoming price increase on 5/27. That's real customer service. Kim, the manager, even took the time to leave me a thoughtful voicemail. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this facility. It feels very secure and is nicely tucked away from the general public. I called the number that Emily provided. It is the same corporate number that will direct you back to the unit manager. The same person that said "what do you want me to do about it". I stand by my original statement. Do not use extra space storage for your storage needs. Also, when I 1st started with the storage unit in April of 2025, the price was $237 for the 10x20 that I am renting. My current price is now $390. That is one steep increase. They do not care to retain their customers, the model is to get you in and the jack up the price until you move out of the unit. read more

If you need a storage unit, i recommend getting one from anywhere else. Rent almost doubled after only 3 months. They have locks on the doors to get to the units where you need to add a code to get in, but those are always broken and don't work anyways. I would like to give 5 STARS for customers service. They all have been more than helpful and I'm not about to shoot the messengers. After all it's their job!! I can't give 0.. just an advisory.. I believe ESS doesn't value its customer relationships. They only provide the special rates for 4-6 months... depending on what? THEN, they could raise the monthly rate $60-$90.. depending on what?! You will be informed on a small white paper that comes in the mail (you may mistake as trash or advertisement) They apologize if the USPS may lose it in the mail because of its size. It just seems that they are fully aware that their increase may not get across to the customer because of their form of communication. ESS should be transparent considering you know people use your storage services out of need. Make the correspondence less likely to get lost and invest in envelopes so your employees dont have to make excuses for your company. read more

ANTHONY! Thank you for all of your help today I made a soft reservation online for a unit I needed and Anthony made it happen. I scored an excellent deal and came in today with my crazy kids and Anthony gave us the tour and all the deets and I signed the lease there's some awesome deals right now and if you prepay, you can have as many months of that price that you want. My current storage unit is in Fountain Valley and they keep increasing the cost, FOR WHAT?! I'm excited to have all our crap closer to home and for a fraction of the cost. First, I would give 0 stars if I could, but I can't. Now as to why? I wouldn't trust this place for storing your items. Not only do they raise the rent by a lot, but your things are not safe here. It may seem safe because of the entry codes needed to enter the property and then to enter your storage unit building. But they do not have cameras inside buildings and therefore thieves will break locks off and steal your belongings. I am providing a photo of the damage outside of our unit that the thieves created when they broke into our unit. They claim they check daily to make sure all locks are in place and not tampered with, and I'm not so sure I believe it. We got a call saying our lock was missing and to come by and see if our things are missing. They also said they would put a lock on the door for us in the meantime until we were able to come by to check our unit, but when I came by the following day there WAS STILL NO LOCK on our unit, so they didn't do what they said they would do, which means our unit had no lock on it the entire time!! So who knows how many people may have gone in there during that free reign on our unit. Our storage unit was almost full, when we went to check it was nearly empty. So someone or multiple people were able to go there, get past the security systems, take their sweet time just emptying out our unit, and taking off. All without being caught. We had some large items in our unit that are not easy things to just walk away with. This place needs WAY better security in place. Our items that were stolen are irreplaceable memorabilia. A large and heavy treadmill was in there and still got stolen -- that is how much time the thieves had, enough time to remove a large, heavy, treadmill. And the insurance we got will come no where near the amount these items were worth. We foolishly trusted that this place would be safe enough to store these things based on the prices they charge. Dear Extra Space Storage, You need to do better with security of your location. You would be wise to install cameras INSIDE all the buildings not just outside. You would be wise to hire security personnel who can verify the people entering units are people who belong in them. Based on the prices you charge for rent here, you have more than enough funds to do all of this. People are trusting your location to keep their items safe and you are failing miserably at doing so. This is not okay that it's so easy for people to break into a unit and take almost everything out of it without getting caught. We trusted you with our possessions and you let us down completely. We will never get those things back and this is on your hands for this failure of security. Dear People considering using this place, I would reconsider. Your things are NOT safe here and unless you have time to come by every day to make sure your stuff is secured, don't spend your money here. They're not protecting your things. I am very disappointed in them for telling my mother that she could use any lock she wanted, that it didn't need to be their locks that they sell there. But failed to tell her which kinds of locks to avoid if she brought her own. Because when our lock went missing the first thing they did was point out she didn't use their locks that they sell, that the ones she was using are easily able to be cut off by thieves. WHY DIDN'T THEY MENTION THIS SOONER? IF THEY CHECK UNITS EVERY DAY, THEY SEE THE VULNERABLE LOCKS AND THEY SHOULD REACH OUT TO THOSE PEOPLE TO WARN THEM!!! If they notice units with locks that can easily be cut why do they not contact the customer and warn them?? It is THEIR JOB to make sure your things are safe and one of those things would be advising people when they choose a lock that isn't safe. My mom trusted you guys. And now our things are gone. SHAME ON YOU. You clearly know which locks are good and which are bad and yet you said NOTHING to caution us against the ones we were using. This was our first time (AND LAST) using a storage unit -- we don't know everything there is to know about good or bad locks. You need to assume people renting from you don't know these things and you need to educate them! We trusted you were a good place to keep our things safe. They have ZERO security cameras inside the units. Only outside which is useless. They didn't even offer a refund for the month they failed to keep things safe and they tried to charge us for another month after we made it clear TWICE we no longer wish to use their service. read more

I had a great experience with the agents (Sarah and Heather); they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the transaction easy. The facility looks clean, and the staff is welcoming but there's a major issue with the storage units. There's no light inside the unit itself, which makes it extremely difficult to see anything when you're inside. You have to rely on the hallway light, and it barely illuminates the space. It's frustrating and inconvenient to have to use a flashlight to see inside your own storage. It makes no sense that there's no built-in lighting in the units. read more

They decided to change the doors, by ripping out my lock. Once they changed the doors I came to pick up my new keys and check my unit. Surprise! All my items in the unit is gone. They left junk, and took all the nicer stuff. Whoever robbed the place took their sweet time shifting through everything by opening boxes. According to management, they don't have cameras. Or any working ones to see anything useful. They don't check all the locks here, there's only 2 employees. The contractor who changed the doors supposedly took videos when opening my unit. Waiting to hear back for the footage. Rent hikes every 3 months or so. Rent nearly doubled in about an year I was renting here. Avoid this place like a plague. read more

I have been renting a space here for years. I have been irritated over the years with the regular rate hikes, but am dumbfounded at the last one. Nearly $100 increase, 30%! I have tried to call and have gotten no answer or response to my vm. I am currently looking for a new space for my stuff and all the other companies answer their phone or call me back, so it's not an industry thing. I def would not recommend this storage facility if you want a competitive rate. They lure you in with a low rate, but don't be fooled. They will raise it significantly over time! Rented here years ago after moving from out of state and left traumatized after nearly everything we owned was completely ravaged and destroyed by rats. They claimed to have pest control and have boxes throughout the facility but those must be empty. The front desk staff got really strange when confronted as well, like they knew. I will say this, bring your own lock and get the hardest lock you can possibly find. Bait your unit for rats yourself. We brought our own lock, hard to pick. From reading these other reviews, we didn't have a break-in but our unit must have been "selected" for their pet rats because they couldn't pick my lock without leaving a trace. read more

Stolen Items Don't leave your stuff here! My unit was locked when I arrived back at it a few weeks after storing my items. When I opened it, all of my big valuable items were stolen. The lock was not broken and was locked when I arrived. I had to put my combo in to get into it and unfortunately, my stuff is missing. We also talked to another man who was there at the same time and he said his tools were stolen/missing from his unit while his was still locked as well. Not sure if employees have a master key to all of the locks or what but your items are not safe here!! And of course this place has no cameras for the interior units which is where our stuff was stolen from, as well as the other gentleman who had his tools stolen. aaaaaand you have to go through the process of filing a police report and such which is a ton of work, just go somewhere safe!! read more

Until they decided to raise the pricing on the unit WITHOUT informing me of the increased price as they said they would upon signing up. They claim they sent me a letter to my apartment. I informed them that the address on file is correct and that I check my mail everyday. NEVER DID I RECEIVE ANY LETTER. How ridiculous is this when I can pay it but because they only take cash he will just let my stuff get thrown away. I have contacted a lawyer I don't think this is fair especially when the credit card company will not allow me to get the cash out. I lost my job yes I couldn't pay storage yes but all of that has been fixed and now I can't get my stuff and it doesn't matter to anyone not customer service not the district manager Brian no body. The reason I left "Extra Space Storage (ESS) approximately 3 weeks ago, after 5 months renting (and moved my personal belongings to Palmyra Mini Storage) is because of Extra Space Storage Company's unethical and unprofessional practices. But before I continue..., this is not a reflection of the employees customer service there. The employees are very courteous but also very loyal to their company; and therefore not forthcoming. Think twice before you rent a unit at Extra Space Storage. While the facility staff is professional, the integrity of the facility is very cheap. Furthermore, Extra Space Storage corporate office managerial staff is most definitely not customer orientated; they are strictly profit orientated at the expense of its customers; in such ways: The space units are dark; cannot see. There are no lights in the rental space units. ESS has systematically removed all internal unit space lighting. The customer is virtually in the dark. Also, what I could see by my personal rented space unit and the surrounding space units the doors are thin and made out of flimsy material and therefore, easily to be broken into. The (unit) doors do not even close properly. The unit doors are wobbly and protrude when the (unit) doors are closed. Any person can place a crowbar between the door and door frame and easily pry the units open. Furthermore, because some of these units are in unsupervised hallways, the units can be easily broken into out of the eye of the facility staff. Also, ESS compels its customers to purchase self-storage insurance (SSI) for your personal belongings. Refusal to do so, (as I did) ESS will not rent you the storage unit. So the customer is compelled to purchase ...insurance or the storage unit will not be rented to the customer; in my opinion it's illegal. In time I'll be informed if it's legal practice or not? Additionally, ESS commercial emplys that all storage place require self-storage insurance, one. Two, the commercial is also misleading in that it states the SSI is a minimum of $11.00 monthly; but yet, I was charged $14.00 monthly for SSI. I was told that it's for my own protection. If it's for my own protection? Then it is my decision if I'd rather take a loss on my personal belongings-not ESS! But yet ESS will not insure your personal own vehicle while being stored in their facility-what is the difference?! Which only leads me to believe that there is a liability insuring your personal vehicle car; i.e., vehicles have a tendency to burst into flames; even sometimes when they are just parked or stored; And ESS knows that . And that is why they do not insure stored vehicles because it's a high liability for ESS. ESS compelling its customers to purchase insurance, is not for our benefit it's for ESS, to make extra money; which I feel is illegal; in time it will be clarified. One final note of warning, other storage facilities will increase your rent on your year anniversary rental agreement; not ESS! The potential customer is not inform that the monthly rent will be increased within three months from the date The unit is rented. On the day I rented the storage unit, ESS STAFF did not informed me that after 3 months my rent was going to be increased. After 3 months of renting received a notice (by mail,) that my rent was going to be increased; that was the straw that broke the camel's back; the lack of transparency and truthfulness from staff, which they are under the control and directions of ESS corporate office(s') managerial staff. ESS not customer orientated. ESS IS strictly profit orientated at the cost of its customers! But don't take my word for it. Rent from ESS and LEARN THE HARD WAY. read more
