Booking online close to your rental start date seems to offer the lowest rate available. Renting in person typically comes with a higher price and does not include a free lock. Stayed here for a few months with minimal visits. Right off freeway. Evidence of Rodents/Mice droppings, Multiple Break ins to units, No onsite manager 24 hrs here, No office hours Sundays, Easily accessible without credentials, Limited cameras inside facility/outside building, Location is by landfill so it literally smells like sh*t, Elevators often out of service or power out which means no access, Worker Biancha left spill and hazards in hall long term without cleaning risking safety/slippage despite being aware Had a piss poor move out experience because managers Biancha and Delesia lied about vacate timeline then felt offended that I called them out for misleading me and asking to make it right. They then called the cops multiple times on my family with false reports (loud music, domestic violence and painting car none of which took place). Screamed at the top of their lungs condescendingly with profanity at us because we did not respond to their disrespect and ignored them. Continued on to create a hostile environment and create non existent problem for me to get out of the office after asking if they tampered with my unit lock which mysteriously stopped working when I went downstairs and they went up. Instead of assisting me with the lock as asked, created more lies about charge backs I did not process (I paid in cash). Refused to show me proof or let me see their screen to show the charge backs. After again calling the police for BS and Delesia threatening that "they need to come get me before she does" (I was never violent or rude), officers then sided with me again and escorted me to open my unit with universal skeleton key that office magically had access to (be aware if something fishy suddenly happens to your lock and you can't open it or items go missing) it opened my unit right up when my lock suddenly did not work. Because they were some kind of mad that the police did not make me leave early like they insisted without reason- given we had an agreed upon contract in place and paid up extra- they literally harassed my partner (who had no business with them and said nothing to them), my children and I over and over. They made 4 false reports to the police and then followed up with making threats they were getting off at 6 and would meet me after because they did not "give a fck". After the location closed, my family was parked next door at gas station and Delesia screamed from her window "leave and get the fck out of here bitches" and yes with continued total disregard to my children all under age 6. I want to be clear that I have no reason to write a false account of what happen, given I am already moved out and paid up. I have no desire to patronize this storage and possibly will avoid using this brand ever again because that was distasteful and unnerving experience. However, I do feel that this needs to be exposed because the managers are putting on a guise that they are professional and kind when in fact they are liars, manipulators, and downright disrespectful. I hope no other families have to experience such bad business at the hands of the so called leadership at this facility. These women are honestly way too old to even be acting in such a distateful manner. I have asked for the district manager contact information to advise of this negative experience but Delesia refused to give it out with a nasty attitude. I have yet to hear back from any higher ups to follow-up per my request. I strongly urge anyone considering this Extra Space Storage location to stay away. The management is shockingly rude and completely unhelpful, especially when dealing with problems they are responsible for. The elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floors has been broken for over 10 days. While mechanical issues can happen anywhere, the way management has handled this situation is unacceptable. According to the on-site manager who claims to speak on behalf of corporate as well there will be no accommodations or solutions offered to affected customers Access to upper floors is only available via stairs, and even that is restricted to office hours (Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM). There is no access at all on Sundays. When I asked about this, the manager said she refuses to work on her day off--as if customer access to their belongings isn't important To make matters worse, the manager told me that because I hadn't visited during the outage, I must not have needed access. But I did receive an email stating that there would be no access during the hours I typically go so why would anyone show up knowing they can't get in? What's the point of sending those emails if they're going to be used to assume someone doesn't need access? That logic is completely backwards. They also refuse to take responsibility or accountability for the inconvenience, and offer no reasonable compensation. Now I'm left having to move out entirely. It seems like all of this is just a laughing matter to them. And to make things even worse--once you do get to the upper floors using the stairs and get lost in the maze of storage units, there are no signs to help you find your way back to the stairs. When I called to express my concerns, the manager hung up on me during the first call, claiming I yelled at her which I did not. Ironically, her own tone was condescending and dismissive. When I asked her how she would describe her tone, she called it "managerial." Frankly, it was anything but professional. I specifically pay more for this unit because of the convenience it's supposed to offer: elevator access and the ability to access my unit after work hours. Now, I can't do either. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and I would not recommend this facility to anyone who values reliability, access, or even basic customer service. read more

Great people and great service. Got in when I was doing a lot of traveling in and out of the Bay for work, figured that a storage unit would be extremely useful to limit the amount of things I needed to schlep back and forth cross country. I kept a few things in here, so a small unit was perfect. Got in at a great price, and prepaid for the year. You have the option to get their insurance or you can provide your own, most renters/HO insurance has some sort of secondary storage provision, just make sure it meets their requirements. Paperwork was very easy, all done through email. I spent 5 minutes on site in person getting a quick tour and seeing what the facility looked like. Elevators are large, and I have never had to wait. The interior halls were VERY clean, and automatic lights always worked when I walked the halls to my unit. Very well-kept exterior as well. I was able to provide my own lock, though they have them if you need them. The unit was a good size and quite tall for my needs. They also have some smaller storage lockers that look sort of like they'd belong at a train station or something, just deep cubes stacked one on top of another, so if you just need space for a few bags or suitcases or things of that sort, those would be great. I would have gotten this had I not needed to store a bike and car rack - the prices were great too (don't remember as I had opened it a year ago). I've had nothing but great service here, Pasha was great when I was setting things up, and thanks to Jerry (sp?) for helping me when I needed to close out the unit a bit earlier than my contract. They were kind enough to give me a credit for the unused time. read more

I didn't like the experience of keeping my stuff over there. While talking the manager promised me something else from what I was charged. They will increase the rate to any amount and charge yy without taking necessary Approval. Also, on lease termination they would give you the prorated amount that was promised. I dont think I could be more impressed with Extra Space Storage in Milpitas. Having found a glitch in their website, I called the new customer number and explained that the units I had JUST viewed were now unavailable. About a minute later a young male voice (Masio) said he was prepared to make my reservation himself using the web rate. He did so and told me I would receive a link in a few minutes, which I did. The manager (Parsha) answered; reception was poor; so I called a minute later--and Jerry answered. He seemed quite happy to hear from me, and when I told him how stellar his service had been on my visit he was humble and genuinely pleased. We confirmed and my payment went through immediately. The contract was also sent to me. My unit was accessible by elevator, and trolleys awaited for the actual move. This is the kind of customer service I remember from small town America, and which I have not seen since my return. read more
