They have a generous grace period during which they send out several reminders. They are in the business of providing rental storage units, not seizing property. Also of note, during Covid, before we knew that we could claim unemployment we were worried about our bills and paying them in time. I called Enterprise at that time to inquire what would happen if I was late and they informed me that they were freezing all seizures during the lockdown. This is a solid, ethical business and I would recommend them to anyone.

Price hikes of around 10% every six months, remote gate access has never worked to leave the property the whole time I've been there despite reporting it multiple times and when I finally left today was told that because I was one day into my next billing cycle I had to pay for the whole month. There would be no pro rated refund for the remaining 30 days of this month. When I left, I looked for a member of staff to let them know I was leaving, and the office was locked and remained locked for over 15 minutes with no member of staff visible. In the end I left and had to call in to the main phone line to find out about final payments. Wish I'd stayed with extra space storage.

They have a 24 hr kiosk and office hours from 9:30 AM until 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM Saturdays and closed office on Sundays. Rentals and Access available between the hours of 6:00 AM til 10:00 PM 7 days a week. Units feature various sizes, climate control (including wine storage), drive ups, enclosed drive ups, RV parking and more. There's a medium unit 10' x 10' that's pretty perfect and outdoor (no drive-up required) I'm eyeing - reasonable/better rates/discounts on their website versus in person. Parking in the area is pretty easy if just needing to check this place out and/or talk to someone in the office.

I have had the unit for about a month now, have gone in only a handful of times, but they are consistent. When I initially signed up, I specifically asked about rate increases--how much they typically increase and how often they happen. I was told that increases can happen fairly frequently, but that Extra Space works with its customers if an increase becomes unaffordable or they experience financial hardship. I was specifically told that if I ever found myself in that situation, I should reach out and they would work with me. I did exactly that. I explained that I was undergoing major surgery, would be out of work on disability, and could not afford such a significant increase during that time. I also explained that because of the surgery and physical restrictions afterward, I was not in a position to move my belongings to another facility. I spoke with someone who said there would be follow-up regarding my situation. No one ever followed up. I received no call, no resolution, and no assistance. What bothers me most is the lack of follow-through. If you tell customers to contact you when a substantial increase creates a hardship and that you'll work with them, then you should actually do so. A nearly 60% increase at one time is significant enough on its own, but ignoring a customer after specifically telling them there are options for situations like this makes the experience considerably worse. Once I am physically able to move my belongings, I will be looking for another storage company. UPDATE: Extra Space responded publicly asking me to call 888-STORAGE. I already contacted the company about the increase, provided my information, and was told someone would follow up. No one did. Asking me to start the process over and make additional calls simply puts the work back on the customer after I already did what was asked of me. That is not good customer service, and it is the same lack of follow-through that prompted this review in the first place. If management genuinely wants to resolve this, they have my account information, my name here Nicole G and a record of my previous contact and can reach out to me directly. I am not going to continue jumping through hoops to receive the customer service I should have received the first time. Four boxes later, I receive EXACTLY HALF of my statues broken and/or in pieces. 50%? Unless they were in their original box, they were wrapped with bubble-wrap and expected to make the journey. They did not. I was told that the refund process would take about 5 weeks, and today I am on 2 MONTHS. Paid for this sad experience with a credit card, and look forward to getting back every penny I spent. Then I can throw out the trash I have been hanging onto. See pics below....
