No matter how long you rent with them, they always increase the rate you were paying before. And it's not by $15/$20/$30 either. I went from paying $85 to $145! Talking about they mailed me something to my address. Lies! I receive every piece of mail to my email first, everyday. No notice was sent. This is my 3rd time in 10yrs renting from them. Every time I've rented, they raise the rates after 3 months! Never again! This will be my last time renting from them. I'm moving my stuff to U-Haul Storage instead! read more

We have had our small camper parked here, and it has been broken into TWICE. They have claimed there has been no video footage either time from security cameras. We asked if they called the police due to multiple being broken into, but they said they could not call. We mentioned we were calling but they said it would just be an online report. This first time we were told they were contacting the security company as to why they were not called when there was a sighting of a man climbing the fence. Multiple RV's were broken into the first time so we installed a heavy duty RV cover as a deterrent. After the cost doubled to park here (they lowered the rate a little for us but it still increased significantly), we had a second break in and serious damage. They cut the straps of the cover, beat a hole in the door, stole MANY items and even burned a hole in a pillow. It looks like someone was squatting in it because the mattress is dirty. All these cameras and not a single one caught someone taking time to remove a cover, carry out large items or literally beat a hole in a door?! Don't trust this location! Save your money. read more

Be very careful, they will up your rental fee very quickly. Up above what the internet price is, "Due to market rates." They Do Not value long term customers. You will end up paying more for your unit than those that have been there less than you. The Air Conditioner is always out. read more

The manager at the Garland Rd. location is so helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and well-kept, and combined with the climate controlled storage units, I know that my items will be kept free from damage due to the elements. It's very secure and the round-the-clock monitoring gives me comfort everything I have there will be safe. It's so easy to sign up for a unit online - in fact, you get discounts doing so vs. in person. I was lucky to get the unit in the size I needed, as this is a popular place! Something important worth noting if you sign up online: you have a limited window of time (I believe it's 24 hours) between when you sign the agreement and when you pick up your lock in order to secure the unit. I think the price is right for what you get in return, including the insurance coverage (most standard homeowner policies don't cover personal property stored off-site). Would highly recommend this Extra Space Storage location! read more

He was most helpful and able to accommodate my specific needs/requests regarding a storage unit/size, etc. The facility is clean and the unit I rented was spotless. Kerr took the time to make suggestions and then showed me around the property. Security is of the utmost importance to me and I was reassured that all entrances are secure and being monitored by cameras. Superior service. My daughter and I were renting a space for her car in Los Angeles but I had to set it up for a remote lease in Dallas. We arrived 15 minutes before closing. It was an unusual and complex transaction that was detailed and time consuming. One of the things I can hold important about doing business with anyone would have to be the trust factor. After all, that's how most people rely on repeat business. (Which is needed especially in these times.) My girlfriend and I moved into a new apartment off of Garland road. This place looked to be rather convenient and close to home. So I decided to go in on a whim and look at their rates for their biggest space. As I go in, I get approached by the manager. (Her Name is Mary) Very polite. I ask for her to take me to her biggest space available in climate control. She then takes me to a space that was made up of 2 10X15s. The top of the unit had a net as a roof. didn't seem very secure to me but I was assured that there were cameras and it was very secure. After looking at the size of just one side of the unit, I realized then that I'd only need one. So I mention that to her and ask her to clarify the size of the space and the rate. She tells me 10X15 and the discounted rate was 109.00 a month. I ask then if she has any available. She says no not yet but I can get your name and number down and call you on the 29th / 30th. One should be open then. I have her write the rate down along with the size on a back of her card just as a reminder. ::Fast Forward to the 30th of August:: I get a phone call from the storage company and Mary tells me that a storage unit is now available and asks me if I'm still interested. I reply with yes. I'm interested. She then goes in to telling me what the pricing is for it which was nothing what I was quoted before the first visit there. I mention to her that she had quoted me 109.00 a month and now it's 155.00? She then says "No sir, That would be for a 10X10." Which was not talked about since we were talking about the 10X15. It was also one of the reasons why I had her clarify the size earlier. She then goes down to 133.00. Again, It wasn't the price originally quoted. Just when you think it's not enough, She tells me that I can think it over and she can call me back. And if I decide against it, she can take me off the list and give it to the next customer. By the way, She also mentioned that those were VERY popular and she had a long list of people who wanted them. I guess that was to create a sense of urgency on my part. Not working...... Sorry. I was still trying to get over the current quote I was given. Trying to figure out why she even gave me the original 109.00 pricing. If for some reason she misquoted me, she works there and she's the manager. Aren't you suppose to know the prices and rates? I know that place is close to me but if you can't trust the staff there with rates, How do you expect to trust them with you valuables. When you have as many music instruments as I do, You really have to make sure you don't get screwed. If they were going back on their rate they gave me originally, What's to say they would do the same as far as the assurance that it was secure even with the net roof they had? If you can't trust a company you are doing business with, don't do business with them. It doesn't matter how polite and friendly they can seem if they say one thing at one time and another after that. Can't say I was happy about that at all. And it's a shame, I wanted to do business with them just from the convenience factor. read more

I have rented this place for my deceased father-in-law belongings until we were able to go through everything. In the time there we had no problems with the climate controlled being kept comfortable and the unit was never broken into. My issue with extra space is that every six months they raise the rent. Not just a dollar or two but significant. The final straw was that we received another rate increase that took us to double what we were originally paying. This is a safe place and clean. But beware that if you are planning on using Extra Space - either plan on getting out before six months -- or know that you will have constant rate increases every six months. read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR VALUABLES AT THIS PLACE! My best friend had her storage unit broken into twice in two months, (June and July) at this facility. Thousands of dollars in musical equipment were stolen. They unhinged the latch to remove her lock BOTH times. The Storage facility has video cameras but conveniently the individuals had their faces covered and seemed to know where they were located. The office staff of the storage place were uncooperative with the police as well as my friend when advised of both break ins and how they were done. This place is currently under investigation. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. LaDell, the manager, does a good job of quickly explaining how the facility operates and conducts a walk around to familiarize new renters with the facility layout. The location is also kept clean and secure. Would definitely recommend them to others. So far, the price seems reasonable, but I've been told the company's corporate office increases the storage fees about every six months. Not sure how significant the increase will be, so stay tuned for my next review. read more

He showed four different storage units, answered my many questions and was so patient and nice while I finally made a decision. Between LaDell's excellent customer service, the great reputation of Extra Space Storage, the location and the price, I know I made the best decision and I'm very happy. Me and my husband decided to get a storage unit at this facility because it's very close to home. My husband is a roofer and has a lot of equipment he uses for work. Instead of having to bring the equipment home and up the stairs to our apartment, he goes every morning and every night to drop the items off there. We have never had any issues, we go and come as we please. At one point we needed a bigger unit and we needed it as close to the door as possible. The staff members were very friendly and had the bigger unit ready for us the next day!!! Very clean, safe, and friendly facility. read more

Good location. The staff is always very helpful, friendly and nice. La Dell, the manager is a really good guy, So is Jermaine. The only problems I ever had was when I found their corporate central website would no longer handle online payments. Instead I just called them directly. I was overseas and doing thing via skype. LaDell handled it himself and it was easy and a total no-brainer. I don't know if that difficulty still exists. But I prefer dealing with them personally anyway. read more
