I made a huge mistake of occupying a storage unit that wasn't assigned to me. I knew the ramifications for the mistake was potentially losing my equipment along with other personal valued items. I was fortunate enough to locate Marcus a representative/ Manager of Public Storage that was passionate enough to help recover the items lost. He also gave me the opportunity to move my items to the recognized storage unit that was assigned for me. My unit was broken into because the burglar bent the dead bolt slider...lifted the door & got in...lock was no good. Also, the security gate was damaged in a storm & the franchisee didn't bother to fix it for several days...anyone could get in. Public Storage is run like a kiosk...once you rent, no customer service...rarely anyone there...don't answer phones or return calls. Rent at a risk...carry insurance & don't put valuables there...tvs, inexpensive furniture, yard equipment can be replaced, not heirlooms. read more

I'd give zero stars if possible. The basement continuously floods. The HVAC doesn't work so it isn't actually climate controlled. Some of the staff tired to be helpful but then their managers step in and ruin it. All of my possessions were molded. The insurance that I bought thru public storage hasn't even called me back. Public Storage @ 2409 Old Denton Rd, Carrollton, TX, 75006 - Level up to 6 Stars for this facility and especially Roxie. Had to make a last-minute move and in my search, was referred by the fine folks at another Public Storage facility (big ups to 2550 E Trinity Mills Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006... is the whole org this good?) I had some issues trying to get out of the old storage and set up the new account, but Roxie knocked down each obstacle with ease. Professional, courteous and took real care at every step. Thanks to her, the whole thing was a fraction of the time I'd feared, and it was even more storage for half the rate I had been paying; seriously saved my you-know-where. The facility is new, modern, super-secure and in a very nice neighborhood. Plenty of amenities like big carts, great elevators, gate opening with an app and fantastic location in far North Dallas/Carrollton area. Did I mention Roxie is the best? Upsettingly, although this unit is supposed to be climate controlled, many of the things in our 5x5 storage unit on the ground floor at this location were ruined secondary to water accumulation and mold build up in our unit. We are preparing for a wedding and many of our wedding valuables and decorations are ruined. Also included was a family heirloom of fine china. Suitcases, travel bags, wall decor, etc. are all unusable now. Nothing we could have foreseen occurring as we were assured this would be climate controlled. Would not recommend. I will hope that the company will stand by their values and morals and remedy the situation appropriately. read more

On the app I put moving out. This is the kind of service you receive. Do not ever use them. The customer service is horrible and the manager are horrible. They just hung up when messaging them. I repeat never use. ME: I vacated two weeks ago storage space is empty and it is a public storage lock so i left it on i live 2.5 hrs away so i will not be going back to the unit, and the manager is someone i rather not deal with again Service: The account can be closed out at the location rented. If your space is empty and the lock is removed (it is yours to keep), then the property will close it. Once it is closed, then you will receive a vacate receipt via email. You may reach out to your Property Manager to schedule a time to have your lock cut. Another option would be to call a locksmith. I am not sure about any cost. His name is Jimmy Hendrix and the first manager I have dealt with since leasing from Public Storage who was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and exceedingly helpful. I'm sure Public Storage probably receives more negative than positive reviews so wanted to point out the difference it makes by hiring competent employees to oversee a commercial business such as Public Storage, or any business for that matter! I just moved in and discovered that only one of the two elevators was working. I called and left a message with the call center. Within two hours, someone from Public Storage called and spoke with me. The next morning, in less than 24 hours, both elevators were fully operational. This service deserves 5 stars. 0/10 Do not recommend. This location has been converted to "self -service" which means no human is available to help you ever. It apparently has no property manager associated with it. When you call, you get a phone tree, and the option to speak to a property manager just cycles you back into the phone tree in an endless loop. It's the freaking Groundhog Day of storage units. And we must've spoken to, at minimum, 7 customer service reps who had no idea how to get us in touch with an actual person for this location. The solution of each was to send us to a different location 30 miles away. So they want me to drive across Dallas and back for over an hour of my time to GIVE THEM more money? GFR. read more

I really like this Public Storage facility. They have been clean, safe and relatively friendly. However, for some reason they are super expensive. If you go down the road a way, you can get the same size storage unit at a much less expensive price. Also, beware...the initial rate is definitely a "teaser". They'll double and triple your rate pretty fast. But that seems to be the case with all storage facilities. If you're storing things long-term, you just have to accept that you'll be playing the moving game every few years. read more

Had to unexpectedly rent a space for our daughters furniture that we thought we were going to have room in our garage. Moving her cross country from North Carolina to Texas, we did not realize how much she actually had till we physically saw it with our own eyes. On the two day trek home, I was able to call public storage & rent a space all within 15 minutes. I was a little apprehensive since we were doing it all by phone and couldn't physically see the facility and they said there was no one "on site" except for a kiosk and we would not move her in until Sunday. When we arrived, we saw we needed to purchase a lock and we went up to the kiosk and within one second of hitting the "chat" button, a gentleman immediately answered and had video screen and he helped walk us through. Received the lock within 60 seconds and we were on our way. Facility is clean, neat, and had two flat bed dollies for our use. Could not have gone more smooth! read more
