Lie about prices and increase rates. Based on my experience and a bunch of other reviews this a a frequent occurrence. They will start you off at a decent rate, then after a month or 2 they'll increase your rate by over $100 dollars "based on market conditions". I went into this site in January on a whim to get some space back in my garage. The staff were so friendly and did not pressure us at all so I just went ahead and rented a unit on the spot. I was pleasantly surprized that it took less than 10 minutes to get it all done and signed up. Usually with these places when you move out is the true test, I had to move to Seattle for work suddenly, so came March I had to move out and the service I got was just amazing. Firstly the staff remembered my name and unit number so I did not even have to give that, they found the file in mere seconds and were super helpful with not only getting my movers access to the unit but also went above and beyond and helped me dontate some unwanted goods. This is the second experience I have had speaking with the manager Casey and he was not only extremely rude and unprofessional but he was disrespectful and hung up on me. I recorded the call because of how rude and unprofessional he was speaking to me and when I asked him if the calls were recorded he sarcastically said yes. As I am in between moving into my new home all of my belongings are in storage and cannot easily be moved into a different storage with a different company. Not only was my rate raised my to $100 more than I was originally paying without any notice or explanation but when I asked to speak with someone else who could possibly help me he refused to let me speak to anyone else being that he is the manager at this location he stated he's the highest person there and no one else is going to help me with this matter. I'm completely disappointed with my service and experience with Extra space storage and I will not be storing my things here in the future. I have used storage facilities on and off for the last decade and have never had an increase in my rate WHILE already currently storing let alone such a high increase AND without notice. Dealing with Casey has been the worst experience I've ever had with any storage facility and the way he spoke to me has to be the most tasteless experience I've ever had dealing with someone in a management position. Casey made himself very clear to me that being compassionate, caring or even professional isn't a priority for extra space employees or specifically management. I'm baffled at how he just spoke to me and even more, I am distraught that I have to deal with him moving forward until I can move my things out. read more

I have been so impressed with the customer service with Extra Space Storage. When I was deciding which storage space I'd like to consider, I read the great reviews for this location. I have to say it has far surpassed my expectations! Casey, was so helpful. He made sure I had all my questions answered, and even took the time to help me find my unit. Moving is always a stressful time, but I'm glad this was one thing that was not stressful. I had a question about my unit yesterday, and Casey provided detailed, professional communication with me to help resolve my questions. I'm so pleased with this facility. But with all great facilities, the only reason they are great is because of the human interaction and exceptional service. Other facilities I've rented from in the past had mice and cricket problems, but I didn't see any in my storage unit or on the property. The managers are courteous and professional. I would use them again if I needed additional storage. read more

These people nickle & dime you to death. My credit card was compromised and until it was figured out I wasn't giving my CC# to them or anyone else. I expressed that to them and told them when solved I would pay & pay the back fees. I tried to today to pay, got no answer so I paid online. There I discovered a fee for $85 for a pre-foreclosure sale which I was NEVER told/warned about (I was one month & five days late/behind). I'm getting out of there as soon as possible. Beware they also raise their rates annually which they don't tell you about. They've got people between a rock and hard place & they know it so they do whatever they want. read more

Way overpriced and horrible customer service. I have had a space with them for over 2 years and in that time the monthly fee has increase exponentially. I have been on auto pay since the beginning never being late. This month while I was out of town my credit card was compromised and canceled while a new one is sent out. When I called extra space storage to pay for the month with a new card they informed me of the 20% fee for being a few days late. Maybe a better name should be extra fee storage instead. Keep shopping unless you enjoy your rate going up every few months a being charged extra fees. read more
