I had a leak in my irrigation system. I needed some help immediately because of impact on our landscaping and my wallet to pay for the excess water useage. Exstream Landscaping crews redesigned our entire front yard, given a challenging ADA ramp design from an outside designer. It's cedar and the design has curves. It took great finesse to achieve the curves. They did an outstanding job and we're very happy with it. Neighbors were commenting on the unique look even before it was finished. Dog walkers were frequenting our block to see the progress. Now that the Oregon native plants are in (also Exstream Landscaping work) it looks fabulous. I'm looking forward to seeing it change as the plants mature. If you have a design in mind, skip the middle person and go straight to this crowd, as they can do it all. And obviously it would have been more straightforward if they'd been installing something of their own design. We had Exstream Landscaping renovate our entire backyard. It was a big project, we changed nearly every square inch within the property line, and we're very happy with how it came out. They graded our backyard, side-yards, added retaining walls, paver stairs and a large paver patio, built a patio cover, fences, gates, pathway lighting, drainage, and installed sod after modifying the sprinkler system. It looks fabulous and is a massive upgrade! Definitely a big return on investment and so much more enjoyable and useable. Just look at the before and after pictures! The Owner and Operator, Pat, was really great to work with. He has a very "can do" attitude and is a stand-up guy when it comes to ensuring things get done right. I had a general plan for the yard in mind. We had 3 people come and bid the project. First person said they didn't think it could be done and referred me to a landscape designer. That designer then wanted $6,000 just for a design! Too big of a chunk of our budget. Then Pat with Exstream showed up on a Saturday and was very open to listening to my idea. He could see the vision and was almost immediately on-board giving some suggestions on how to make it even better and what materials could be used, etc. He sent me a basic sketch within a few days and totally nailed what I had in mind. I transferred that sketch to some graph paper and added some details. He took a look at it, gave us a quote, and we scheduled the date. His workers showed up on time every day and worked hard. It took longer than we thought it would, but we added and changed a few things as we went. I know that can be frustrating for a contractor, but Pat was accommodating. The foreman, Brandon, is an expert at hardscapes. He was really meticulous in planning for our new paver patio, and it came out great. A different guy that built the patio cover and the fences wasn't quite as meticulous, but when I mentioned some of the issues I saw with that part of the build, Pat wasn't defensive at all - he agreed - and they made it right. Since the project was completed, we've had a couple of small issues pop up like a gate starting to sag, and a couple lights going out. When you have a project this big with that many items, it's unavoidable. I reached out to Pat, he responded right away, and Brandon came out and fixed them. Really appreciate what they did for our yard and working with Exstream and Pat was a good experience. They transformed our entire yard! Definitely recommend them for your outdoor project. read more

When we first called, they were forthright to let us know they are were booked till mid-summer (we wanted spring). Let me tell you, it is so worth the wait. After 25 years in a rural home with no particular landscaping, I finally decided to look into having it professionally designed and taken care of. The first landscaping company that came out was undoubtedly great at their profession, but the owner was arrogant and rather dismissive. When Pat came out from Exstream, I found him to be totally the opposite - respectful of my chaotic, untamed yards (front and back), a great listener, full of potential solutions and creative ideas, and, most importantly, not in a rush and very personable. After accepting his detailed bid, it took a number of months for this project to start, as they're a small business and very busy, as great contractors are. Brandon, the hardscape guru, was the first out, and immediately began the process of prepping for and installing amazing patios and pathways from the front to the back, as well as a large patio in the back yard that will support a future swim-spa. The retaining wall and steps in the back yard, and the paver walkway on the opposite side, has changed the entire usage of the space. Each member of the crew was GREAT to work with - good people with good work ethics and willing to go the extra mile a number of times. (And they liked and were kind to my very energetic dogs!) When all was said and done, the project turned out a million times better than I could have imagined. We've been busy over the last few months transforming our shady, hilly, unusable back yard into a beautiful space that I call French Country meets the Pacific Northwest look. We hadn't changed anything since buying in 2011, but used the corner of the yard several years for raised garden beds until they eventually rotted and we ran out of farmer steam. We replaced the rotting wood fence last year and this year, the hardscape went in. Our contractor, Exstream Landscaping did a fabulous job!! The flowering shrubs and perennials will go in next spring, but the dwarf boxwood hedges are already started. We love our new space! Pat was a joy to work with and made my visualization a reality. He listened, communicated well and offered several suggestions that I implemented in my design. The whole team worked very hard, was respectful and a joy to work with. We did a major project with Extreme Landscaping in both front and back yards. The front yard work included pulling up the sod, reconfiguring the sprinkler system and laying down new sod. The backyard makeover was more comprehensive. We worked with another contractor in the area to enlarge our patio and pour a foundation for a hot tub. Pat and his team came in when that work was done and did a complete overhaul of our backyard landscaping. This included pulling the sod and the sprinklers, using a small tractor / bobcat to regrade the yard so it would drain better and adding better soil, adding multiple French drains, relaying the sprinklers and the sod and adding planting as necessary to complete the landscaping. After that was done, they added uplights and a water feature. We have also used Extreme Landscaping several times throughout the years on smaller projects. Pat was always very responsive and did great on those projects so we were happy to work with him on something of a much larger scale. He and his team did a great job. They were timely, communicated well and worth every dollar we spent. If we were going to do a similar project this year, we would go straight back to Pat. read more

I would not recommend using this company for any of your landscaping needs. They do not stand by their own work. We called Exstream Landscaping regarding some maintenance/repair work on a job they completed and they said they do not handle repairs. I contacted several other companies and no one has been able to move forward without some guidance from Exstream (their installation was unique I guess). I contacted Exstream to see if they could at least provide some consultation to another company and they gave excuse after excuse (e.g., we wouldn't remember what we did). I could overlook them not doing the repair work themselves (still lousy) but to not provide any level of assistance so another company can complete the work is just poor business. read more

I found Pat who owns Exstream Landscaping by doing a Yelp search. They had very few reviews, all positive, and run a small operation compared to many landscaping companies in the area. This attracted me because we needed help and a unique, yet simple touch, that you don't get with large companies that focus on completing jobs quickly using generic styles. When I viewed his website, before and after photos, and story, I was sold on getting a bid. We wanted something that complemented the natural landscape we love and that's exactly what Pat and his team gave us. At the end of a 15 min conversation onsite he envisioned more than we did over a year of living here. When I learned he was a Military Veteran there was little short of an outrageous bid that would have made me consider another contractor.
