Both owners Malika & Alex came out and listened to our concerns and shared their vision on how to transform our side yard and backyard slope into something that addressed all our concerns. They even provided one the spot renderings so we could envision what the final outcome would be. I can't begin to explain how they turned our project into something that is showcase quality. Their attention to detail and professionalism is of the highest standards. The crew were respectful of property, genuinely professional and they completed our project in record time. Harley treats your job like he is working on his own house. This comes across very clearly in every decision and choice he makes to select materials, plants, products, etc. He also consulted me before every design decision was made, from the the height of the step leading to the backyard, to the exact color of the cement, to the exact placement of the plants before the digging took place. Another designer may have gone ahead and planted the plants per the architectural design, but Harley has this innate understanding that people change their minds when they see things actually laid out, or after they have time to think about the project as it it progressing. It is this insightful understanding about human nature, that greatly reduces stress during the project as you come to trust and appreciate these rare qualities that you don't find in most people. I am so pleased with the work Design Prodigy did in the backyard.

The price was very reasonable for the originally planned work, but in the end it turned out to be a great value for everything they did to get it perfect for us. Jesus is extremely nice and approachable, and he was excellent with communication and check-ins. As soon as they finished the backyard landscaping job today, I signed another contract for them to do our fencing, and we're planning on having them back to improve our sprinkler system next Spring.

I was fortunate enough to see some of their handiwork at an event held in the yard of someone who had previously discovered them. Hearing about what that space had looked like before and seeing the magical landscape that had been created there, I knew my wife and I needed to meet Nick Lake. Since then, he and his fantastic team have completely transformed our outside space into the most beautiful part of our home. Nick is an absolute treasure trove of inspiration and information. From the moment we first met with him, we knew we wanted to proceed as soon as possible. We didn't have pressing issues that made landscaping work an "emergency" (e.g., no water problems directly related to the yard), so an outside project easily could have waited. We also did not have a high level of horticultural knowledge, nor did we even know exactly what we wanted when we first started talking to Nick. We knew our yard had "potential", i.e. it was a smallish but not tiny, pretty drab space that wasn't particularly functional and wasn't much to look it. It was our conversation with Nick and his vision for the yard that made us want to move forward at that time and turn it into something great. Since then, with a combination of "demo" work, mulching, softscaping and hardscaping, every aspect of our yard has become a thing of beauty that we see and enjoy every single day. Throughout the process, Nick and his team have worked closely with us on every decision and every detail. Nick plays an integral role in all parts of the process and communication with him and his team has always been easy, fun, rewarding, and thorough. There have never been any surprises in terms of cost or how something was done. As a result, everything is exactly what was discussed and we could not be any happier with it. Nick certainly deserves the lion's share of the credit as the owner of the business, the mastermind behind the work, and a hands-on contributor to the implementation. That said, huge shout out for his entire crew and honorary mention for Tulsi, the smart and adorable dog that might make some appearances if Tashana is working and you give the green light. Every member of the team brings something important to the job, always including hard work but also creativity and individual areas of interest and expertise. The result is frequent flashes of brilliance and pleasant surprises throughout all phases of a project. It isn't a great time of year for pictures as I'm writing this (I'll add more in the spring) but below is a stone bench that took form during one day's work. This was not even part of the original plan, just an off-the-cuff idea (thanks to Kyle, Tommy, Daniel and Tashana if memory serves) to which we could have said "no thanks" if we were that foolish. Even once there are more pictures to add, they can only do so much. Nick knows he is always welcome to swing by and show off the beauty, which keeps getting better with every growth season. Whether we are sitting in the yard, walking through it to get to or from the house, or just staring at it through a window, we count ourselves lucky that this is actually part of our home. I cannot recommend Earth Ecology strongly enough. With Nick and his crew, you will get everything that you wanted and a lot more. As happened for us, you will get done with each step and be so happy that you decided to go for it, and occasionally scratch your head wondering if there is anything else you can do out there. I will begin by saying that I have never been so happy and impressed with a contractor of any type, ever! The overwhelming success of this project began well before this beautiful retaining wall to extend our patio was completed. The project began with a complete landscape design by Sarah. We are so happy with the plan in and of itself. It is very professional and detailed and includes a top to bottom approach including hardscapes, walkways, storage areas and every plant and tree including maintenance instructions. Sarah determined that beginning with extending the patio would be the best place to begin as we would receive the biggest bang for the buck, and she was right on! Prior to the work we received a detailed estimate of costs breaking it down between materials and labor. Both Robert and Sarah worked hard to make this wall come in at our budget and they were successful. At this point we were so impressed with their professionalism and customer service that we were excited to have them come do the work. As the project began early in the morning on a Saturday it became evident within 30 minutes that we had a PRO team on the job! Robert and his crew, Louis and Sergio worked for two full days and knocked it out in record time. Honestly, I don't know how they did it, but they did it with class, professionalism and an uplifting and positive attitude. I kept pinching myself throughout the project, feeling so lucky to have this team at our home. I have had rotten experiences in the recent past with contractor who are not honest, take twice the time stated to complete the project, or not complete it at all. So I can't begin to truly express my gratitude to Robert, Sarah and the guys at Artistic Landscapes for their commitment to quality and customer service. Just look at the pictures of this wall and you will see what I mean about QUALITY. It doesn't get any better than this! We had moved into a house with a pleasant little backyard with virtually no landscaping. After our second wet season of having dogs and kids tramping mud all over our kitchen floors, we decided to have work done to remedy the obvious water issues we were having in our backyard. We did what any good homeowner does and talked to multiple companies. Five, to be exact. Being an amateur designer, I planned out our dream backyard and had all of them quote on the same thing and then reviewed all the bids to make sure they were comparable (on a spreadsheet). We reached back out to some to make sure the material pricing was comparable, and no one was pricing a higher quality product or over engineering anything. I will tell you that Artistic Landscapes was NOT the lowest bid we received, but also wasn't the highest. What really gave us confidence was that the owner came out and talked through the actual issues we were having with drainage and came up with a solution that was neither intrusive nor broke the bank. We are very happy with our choice. The Artistic Landscape team went above and beyond working quickly and doing REALLY hard labor to break up our rocky ground. They bent over backward catering to my knit picky demands. Most importantly, they were extremely respectful and clean. We have had other contractors that left their tools out at night between workdays and Artistic Landscape always picked up everything and never left any trash. We have now been living with a lush, green yard for six months through the rainy season. Dog paws come in dry and the kids always want to play outside while we like relaxing in our outdoor living space and getting our hands dirty in our new garden. After many years of trying to figure out what to do with our yards, my husband and I decided to hire a professional. Robert did our neighbor's yard 3+years ago and it looks great. Robert came out and walked through the yards with us, asking questions and listening to my requests. I told him over all I just want a low maintenance yard with pops of color, no bark (I like river rock) and a flowering tree, or a "weeping tree" what ever would work. I told him, this is your job, you know what looks good. If I knew what to do I wouldn't hire someone. I trust you, knock yourself out. He did just that! My yards looks great! He put in path ways I didn't know I needed but will make going from the front to the back much easier. He not only gave me a beautiful Magnolia Tree but a "weeping" cedar as well! Lots of color, 2 camellias, heather, all sorts of plants. Hydrangeas across the back fence. It is beyond my expectations. Putting my faith and trust in Robert was the right thing to do. He clearly heard what I wanted and incorporated it in to his over all vision. Luis and his crew were great. Nice and fun guys. They even moved some heavy things around the yard for me. Always willing to answer no doubt stupid questions, and explain things to me. Again I had very little to do with the lay out, I told Robert to do what he thought would look nice. If you are looking for someone you can trust. Someone who is going to listen to you and make sure you have a yard you will be happy with, hire Artistic Landscapes you won't be sorry. read more

We chose Artistic Landscapes as they have been doing our landscape maintenance over the past few years. They always did excellent work. When we decided to re-do our backyard, we had no hesitations in hiring them. Robert worked with a plan drawn up by a landscape designer and he added some of his (and our) special touches. The project was big. We have a large backyard and they took out almost everything including a cedar deck, a cement patio, two large trees and dozens of shrubs. Next was installation of a new sprinkler system over our entire property, landscape lighting, a beautiful paver patio, a gorgeous water feature, a new sod lawn, dozens of new shrubs, trees and flowers. They hired a great fence builder, a real pro of an electrician then added some extra special touches to our front and side yards. One of the things that really impressed me was how well they cleaned up our property the end of each day. They really cared about our lives during the construction. We are so happy with their work. Was it expensive? Yes, but they were generous in various discounts along the way. We feel we got our money's worth and then some. The pictures say it all. I would totally recommend Artistic Landscapes to anyone who wants a simple upgrade or a total renovation. They do great work! read more

We contacted Robert in early spring to get a quote on a project to completely redo our entire yard - Hardscape pathways, new sod, new plant material, retaining wall and paver patio. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived and enthusiastically listened to our ideas and budget. Within a week, we received a thorough, itemized quote. After a few amendments, which Robert was very accomodating with us, we scheduled the project. The project took several weeks, and the finished project exceeded our expectations in every element. During the project, we wanted to make some changes and Robert was very patient. He listens well and his experience shows because you can discuss a somewhat vague idea of what you want, and he can execute and deliver a result that is a better than you envisioned. Typically, the project was performed by two of Robert's crew. The foreman on our project, Luis, was spectacular. He directed his co-workers well, he worked extremely hard and smart, his work product was exceptional. His attention to his craft is obvious. The work site was clean every evening. Our front yard now looks amazing, thanks to Robert and his terrific crew at Artistic Landscapes. Our experience was great from beginning to end. Robert came out quickly to hear our dreams for our project (complete redesign of the front and side yards) and provided a timely and reasonable quote for their services. The project was scheduled for early spring and began on the date promised. Robert's design is beautiful and he incorporated a few of my ideas as our discussions continued throughout the project. The work was painstakingly completed and we were impressed by the amount of care taken by the crew. Only the highest quality materials (rock, stone, plants, trees, lights, irrigation) were used. Because we wanted to incorporate a pagoda into the design, Robert adjusted the plant choice at the end to go in a more Asian garden direction and we were extremely pleased to see our vision come to life. Artistic Landscapes finished our entire property this summer - there wasn't an area untouched. From our initial meeting, I could tell Robert was passionate about his craft, very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I let him know basically what I wanted but I let Robert, Sergio and his crew take the reign on design and functionality on what they thought would look best. And let me tell you...we are BLOWN AWAY. In this case you get what you pay for. High quality work, big clean trucks, hard workers, crew lined up their equipment neatly, and they clean up the property daily before leaving. Robert custom selected plants and trees with taste, design, and what would flourish in each spot...plus took into consideration what we like. Even random neighbors noticed and mentioned how organized the crew was and impressed by their huge equipment! Artistic Landscapes is great! Robert and his crew provided professional, diligent, and beautiful workmanship with our new hard-scapes and plantings and it has improved our curb appeal 100%. From refreshing and improving our existing flagstone patio, garden beds and paths at the back & side of the house to completely re-doing the front by installing a stunning paver driveway and curved new path to our front door, along with beautiful plantings all around the house. Additionally, they reinstalled a better irrigation system. It took a while to get scheduled, as they obviously take great care with their work and had numerous projects going on. Artistic Landscapes is positively the best landscape company for sprinkler systems. Robert, the owner, listens to the customer and makes sure the vision is completed exactly as the customer requested. Sergio, the supervisor who worked at our home, manages his team expertly. The crew are really hard workers and kept our yard neat for the duration of the project. They made sure to leave our yard better than when they arrived. Sergio edged our lawn, reseeded our lawn where needed. He added mulch to our existing flowerbeds and borders! Thank you so much! "Artistic" Landscapes is the perfect name for this business. The owner, Robert, is definitely an artist! He was recommended by a friend, and when he came to look at our front yard, he just came alive with ideas. His first bid was a little over the top for my taste, but his second bid incorporated my ideas plus things I wouldn't have thought about. The final product was a delightful blend of lawn, shrubs, boulders, and even a flagstone path to a garden bench. I was very impressed with the workers led by Sergio as they were hard working, respectful and friendly. I especially liked that they got in touch with Robert immediately when he wasn't on site, and we ran into an unexpected glitch. The situation was resolved to our satisfaction, and they even saved us money. Robert loves what he does, is highly responsive, and struck just the right balance between listening to me but at the same time gently offering advice on perhaps better alternatives. I saw an exceptional degree of organization and professionalism in his operation. We contracted Artistic Landscapes to help remove roots that were growing underneath (and x-raying through) our back yard turf. They not only took care of the problem but actually went 'above & beyond' actually leaving our property aesthetically BETTER that it was before the project started. Expectations exceeded. Robert and Sergio did an amazing job on our backyard. We had a general idea of what we wanted, and after meeting with Robert for the first time it was obvious he would perform the work right, and give us a wonderful outdoor living space. During the project, there were a few additional items added to enhance the project and we appreciated his thoroughness in recommending them with no pressure to accept. All attempts were made to stay as close to the original budget as possible. The communication during the project was above and beyond, with frequent status check-ins and almost daily updates. Refresh of front garden with river rock and plantings. Laying path through trees in backyard, planting trees, and creating "pebble beach". I also use them for monthly maintenance. As usual they did an amazing job. Robert is a joy to work with and his crew members are all excellent workers. My beautiful front yard was originally designed and created by Artistic Landscapes. It is Asian inspired with a dry river rock creek bed and appropriate plantings. This job was to refresh and tweak the design a bit. The back yard jobs were somewhat unusual requests, but Robert and his crew came through with flying colors. In 2021 we needed to landscape our backyard (new subdivision, so only dirt and weeds). Robert and his crew were fantastic. Robert worked with us to design a beautiful landscape with a water feature that was within our budget. We LOVE the yard! We also have Artistic Landscapes do maintenance every two weeks. We were having a bit of an issue with a new crew. After talking to Robert, the issues were resolved and the crew pruned some bushes in front and took care of some going-out-of-control plants. It has been a pleasure working with Robert and and his crews. They always come through for us. Robert & his team absolutely exceeded our expectations. We communicated our vision, and he completely nailed it and then some! They did a full renovation of our front yard, installing a dry-creek bed design that is stunning and will add so much value to the home from the curb appeal alone. The materials (rock, boulders, plant selections) are all top-notch and have passersby stopping to stare. It turned our home into the nicest one on the block. The one area of improvement I would suggest: there were a couple times between when they first scoped out the project until it actually started (about a month) when there were delays in communication and I wasn't sure what was happening, if my email was received, etc. It wasn't a huge deal and they made up for it in spades, but just something to note.

There was a concrete patio below the existing deck and we wanted to match that, w/ reinforcement for a hot tub. We got a couple bids for the job. Danny was the estimator that came out for Forest and he seemed knowledgeable and was punctual and professional. It was not the cheapest bid ($6600 for a 13'X16' 4" concrete patio w/ hot tub reinforcement), but the company is much more well established than a couple others we consulted so I put more trust in their work. Rigo is the guy we needed to work with on scheduling etc. for concrete work. This was a little rocky at first, but that had a lot to do with us needing to postpone the start till our deck was done, but then also work around a vacation we'd be taking, and make sure the concrete had enough time to cure before our hot tub is dropped. Despite a slight language barrier, we worked it out and even managed to get it done ahead of when we originally scheduled it. Punctuality is impressive with these guys. For 3 days they were waiting outside our house to start at 7:30am precisely. They had to remove a portion of fence and work around some foliage for access. They ended up encountering an unexpected drainage tube of some kind while digging and made sure to create an access point for us if it's ever needed in the future. The concrete looks great and matches our old patio so well, it's hard to tell they weren't poured together. Danny and I (and later Rigo) discussed treating the old concrete to help the matching. At the end of the work they did a great job of cleaning up the area and returning everything to normal. Rigo also helped us by showing us how to remove the fence portion for when our hot tub is delivered and left the top cap off because he said we'd really struggle to get it off if they put it back. I'm happy with the work, communication, and cleanup and trust if there are any problems I will be able to get them resolved. If we have further landscape needs in the future I will def be calling Forest for a bid.

It required multiple subcontractors to complete the job, but Forest Landscape made sure everything went smoothly and that the project was kept on track. The guys who came to do the excavation for the trench did an amazing job and we were so impressed and grateful that they even worked through all the rain and cold weather. It was so muddy yet they still managed to get the job done. When it was time for inspections, they were all approved which is definitely a positive thing. It reassured us that we made the right decision to go with this company. Not only are they professional, but at the end of each day, they took the time to clean up and make sure they didn't leave a huge mess. We highly recommend them for any landscaping needs and will be reaching out to them for future projects.

I explained to him that, due to the size of my yard, I'd probably need to do my projects in phases, and he gave me some good input into the order of things should happen. He followed up with a proposal that night, with each area separated so that I could see the price in phases. His guys came out a couple weeks later to install a fence. They were courteous and hardworking, but what I really loved is how they would hold each board up, and then flip it to see which side looked and fit better. They did a great job, and I also liked that they were here at nine, took a lunch break, and left by 3:30 to be back to the office by 5 each day. Since I already knew what I was paying, I wasn't worried about them racking up an hourly wage or anything, and to me this showed that the company cares that their workers get to have a life and they're not just rushed through each job, slapping up boards as fast as they can go. The results speak for themselves! I love my new fence! I can't wait for the other projects I've sign them up for.
