I can't say enough good things about my experience working with David. When I started, I was unsure what the end result would look would be. I changed my mind several times resulting in several changes to the contract. David was patient and never showed any signs of frustration with my changes. He was helpful making suggestion for improving on my ideas. David was on-site everyday reviewing the plans for the day with me and the crew and checking the status of work. Everyday David made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. When I had questions, he would immediately address the question and make whatever change or touch-up I wanted. The crew was always on-time and cleaned up after their work. They were easy to work with and were great about touching base with me if there were any questions about the work being performed or any unexpected hiccups that arose such as an unexpected large roots to ensure the work was being done the way I wanted. I love how everything looks and my neighbors haven't stopped complementing my yard. They even commented about how clean everything looked when they finished and how respectful they were regarding neighbor's parking areas and space. After watching them work on my property for a week, one of my neighbors asked for their number to hire David himself. I would absolutely hire David and his team again. Here's a summary of the work his team performed. Excavated, removed, and replaced broken drainage line in the yard. Relocated large boulders from backyard to front yard planting area. Removed shrubs, concrete parking pad, and extra material from the site including old veggie beds, grassy areas being converted to mulch, and weeds. Installed 2 gravel paths, gravel sitting area, 2 retaining walls, vegetable beds, irrigation lines, gravel RV parking area, gravel parking spot, 2 gravel storage areas, 2 drain lines under the gravel, additional river rock border around my grass, rock ring with boulder edge around tree, and planting strips along the driveway. Planted new, and relocated and planted numerous plants including bulbs, grasses, ferns, and shrubs. The bid was highly competitive and excellent value. I strongly recommend David and his team. read more

Terra-Sol Landscaping just finished our landscaping. I could not be happier with the results. We had decided to get rid of the lawn as the trees were shading so much that I needed to reseed every year. The design and results are beautiful and much more user-friendly. read more

I hired Terra-Sol to do a patio replacement (took out concrete and added pavers), fence addition, and some other softscape work. They did a tremendous job, I could not be happier with their work. Dave was very helpful and even helped sketch out the design in the beginning. Once they started working, the team was incredible and moved very quickly. They were happy to accommodate some changes during the middle of the project and they stuck to their bid price. I talked to several landscaping companies and I thought they were the most thoughtful and reasonable out of anyone, and they proved it to be the case. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

We were really happy with our backyard makeover from Terra-Sol. We had hired a landscape architect to design our makeover, then hired Terra-Sol to carry out the design. Dave came out, took measurements, talked to us about some options, and provided a quote within a day or two. We were essentially removing an old retaining wall and patio and updating it with a new retaining wall and patio, plus moving the fence line, and putting in some gravel pathways with large boulders. They started the work when they said they would, were great about communication, and Freddie and his team worked tirelessly for 2 weeks to complete the job. We made several changes mid-project and the team was flexible and helpful in carrying out the plans. We even decided to add a slate path hours before the job was complete, assuming they'd have to come back another day to finish the path, but he said he could get the materials that day, left, came back with the stones, and put in the path in a matter of hours. They still finished on time. I can't speak to the competitiveness of his pricing. We were too busy to get multiple quotes, but my brother-in-law is familiar with home renovation projects and he said the quote was reasonable. The only thing I would change about the experience is that I wish communication could be done via email or text message more. Dave likes to talk on the phone to discuss things, and my husband and I are super busy and have a hard time carving out time for phone calls. Email and text is more convenient for us. Not a big deal, just being picky. :) read more

Terra-Sol did an amazing job on an irrigation (sprinklers!) and paver project for us this spring. They were incredibly responsive and the results were more than I could have hoped. I would recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping or irrigation. They also did such a good job of keeping our space clean every day, which was not easy as this spring was so, so rainy and generated a ton of mud during the trenching phase. I will absolutely be coming back to Terra-Sol with any future projects. read more

David and his team are true experts. We have a very small backyard with a weird slope and they transformed the space into a relaxation and entertainment oasis. It really feels like we doubled our livable space. David is a real artist and his initial sketch nailed it. His vision was the main reason we ended up moving forward with them over the 3 other companies we met with. He was an excellent listener, incorporating our ideas but making sure to voice his expertise and not allow us to botch the job. His crew was very professional and worked hard. Each day they cleaned the entire area before leaving and all my neighbors appreciated this very much. I cannot express how thrilled we are with Terra-Sol, David, Rea, and the entire team. Thank you for making our house a home!!! read more

This is an overdue review but I felt it was important to share the positive experience I had with Dave and team. My project was a backyard redo in Fall 2020. Our yard consisted mostly of a paver patio with an upper and lower deck. When we moved in we thought it would be good for entertaining but years later and several dogs later, we realized we needed a more dog friendly backyard. I found Terra-Sol using Angie's list and had a positive experience with every interaction starting at the initial quote. Dave gave me a reasonably priced quote and was very transparent on when the work could begin. Due to Covid apparently everyone decided to do yard projects, so we had to wait a few months- which we were ok with. During our waiting period, Dave would check in and give me updates so I didn't feel forgotten. The work started as promised and was completed on time. Dave showed up frequently to check progress, was always available to answer my questions, provided great suggestions and was open to any changes I wanted to make. He did an excellent job capturing what I wanted with his design.. and didn't charge a design fee- which many of the other companies I called would have done. HIs crew is professional, highly skilled, hardworking and showed up every day. The finished product was exactly what I wanted! From initial estimate, design installation and cost, his team did an amazing job! I highly recommend Dave and Terra-Sol. I will be contacting them soon for my next project! PS. The office staff is great too. Very responsive and excellent follow up! read more

Terra-Sol landscaping did a wonderful job with our small backyard. The team was extremely professional and hardworking. We had a curved pathway out of pavers installed along with a tree and a selection of shrubs and plants. The landscaping turned out beautifully and is exactly what we pictured. Our backyard has been transformed, and we highly recommend Terra-Sol Landscaping. read more

We had a diseased maple tree that needed to be replaced but really set off a need to re-landscape our whole front yard. Dave from Terra-Sol put together a recommendation and plan which accounted for the style of home and neighborhood that we really liked. The team worked incredibly fast to remove the old landscape and install the new. We love the way it looks and highly recommend this team to do the work! read more

They are the BEST. Dave drew a beautiful landscaping plan that addressed all my problem areas of mud and drainage. He accommodated my schedule, met with me and his crew when the job started to make sure everyone was on the same page. Then came by again to check on things. He had 2 guys that finished the job in only 2 days, working endlessly through hard rain. My front yard was completely transformed with a new walkway, new beds, and new plants. I have had many, many repairs and improvements done on my home throughout my life. Terra-Sol is among the very best companies to work with. Honest, skilled, and puts the customer first. He only wanted me to be happy with the job. They went above and beyond read more

I reached out to Terra-Sol and they replied within the hour. Unfortunately, they could not help me with what I needed but they offered 2 different solutions and recommended another company that they use for what I was needing. Giving them 5 stars for customer service. A lot of companies would have just replied, "no". Terra-Sol gave me a solution to my problem. I will use them if I need to in the future! read more

This is probably one of the best, if not the best, companies we've ever had work for us. David Zimmerman came and talked to us about what we wanted in the way of pavers, after seeing their work next door. They also do landscaping but we were only needing pavers. We were given a date when work could be started but as it turned out, David came with three guys about three weeks earlier than planned, told them what the plan was, and the job was completed in three days. We were totally amazed at how fast they worked. Of course they got to our home in the morning and worked all day. That makes a big difference. We had an issue after they left on day three and the next morning, two workers arrived to remedy the not-very-serious problem. Also, Rea in the office was more than helpful with the whole process so kudos to her as well. We would definitely recommend Terra-Sol. They do great work! read more

We simply could not be happier with this company. Owner, David was awesome! He's an excellent designer, friendly, respectful, and his crew did a fabulous job installing our backyard landscaping and gorgeous water feature worthy of Street of Dreams status. Highly recommend!! read more

Terra-Sol installed a patio for us, and we are very happy with it. Dave was friendly, had great suggestions for the design and ways to decrease costs to work within our budget. He was clear about the timeframe they could meet, and the work was done on schedule. His workers were friendly and kept the site clean. We love our new patio! read more

This is the second front yard they have done for us. David's designs were exactly what we wanted both times. We absolutely love the way our yard looks now. All the men on the crew were great and above and beyond what was expected. read more

Terra-Sol knows their stuff! We had our front yard done by another contractor (D&J) who overcharged us and never followed up regarding dead plants and other issues. We hired Terra-Sol to landscape our back yard, and they did a fantastic job! They installed pavers, lawn, and plants, and they were honest enough to reduce their fee when they realized the landscape plans we had would overcrowd our yard and we couldn't use all the plants in the budget. On top of this, when David from Terra-Sol noticed the pavers in the front of the house had not been done according to plan, he offered to redo those for a reasonable price. We LOVE our yard and have spent more time in it over the past month than we had the entire 8 years we have lived here. read more

Just finished our project, with new landscaping and hardscaping on our front driveway and patio. David, Rea, and the crew were extremely professional. His communication throughout the process was impeccable, always calling and contacting with updates about timeline and progress and choices. My wife and I, and our neighbors, love the result! We wish they could do every project on our house!! Thank you David!! read more

We hired Terra-Sol Landscaping to do our landscaping and I have never been happier. Dave is easy to work with and his team of workers are fast and friendly. David at Terra-Sol was so great to work with. He gave me so much information I did not even know to ask and did such a good job using the space we had available to make our back yard an area I know I will love for many years to come. We recently bought our first house and wanted to landscape the yard. Our neighbors recommended Terra Sol and I am so glad they did. Dave Zimmerman met with my husband and I three or four times to plan what we wanted our yard to look like. After our final meeting, he had workers over the next day and they finished the project in one week! Our yard went from dead and boring to fabulous! We love our new patio and fire pit!! His company is extremely professional and talented. read more

Worth getting a bid from I think. We got one and asked for a line item bid. Was told it was too complex to do that but others were able to give us that type of bid. Entire bid was over $13k which was on par with others. We chose to go wth someone else for some of the work and asked for a bid on installing some synthetic lawn and reworking our water feature. The reply was they were unable to bid our job. Guess that is probably because they are booking jobs over four months out. So if you want it this summer, 2017, look elsewhere. And if your job is smaller,.... read more

Dave Zimmerman was recommended by a former company employee. We received 3 bids and Terra-Sol was not the lowest but the results surpassed all expectations. Dave followed my original plan and then modified it which was a great improvement. After accepting the bid, Dave returned with his foreman Freddie to start the job at which time he realized that the placement of large boulders to help stabilize the down-slope was not going to work so he changed it to a 28 inch high retaining wall at no increase in price. The best part of the project was the workers. Freddie and his crew of 4 worked very hard and diligently showing up every day until the work was finished in 8 days. My neighbors are jealous since they went with a lower bid company and are not as pleased. I would hire Dave and company every time. GREAT JOB! read more

Absolutely the best possible experience and outcome. If I could give a 6 star rating I would. We first contacted David and Terra-Sol over 2 years ago and were very impressed with the landscape design, which was right on target, and with the sense that we could trust Terra-sol with such an expensive and important investment. In October (the second wettest October on record) they started our project and worked nonstop for over a week, a crew of 3-4 (or more) with equipment and many truckloads of haul old and in with new soil and rock. The finished product is fabulous. We are very picky when spending this type of money and we were fearful that like many other contractors their objective would to cut corners - but we happily watched as this veteran crew totally remade our back yard, painstakingly and beautifully, and have we said dozens of time that we are so happy with selecting Terra-Sol. As expensive as it was, I view it as a bargain. Without exception, everyone has loved the finished product. Something less obvious to others was our drainage problems. Our back yard would literally flood. One day last year we can home to a duck floating on our standing water (no joke). I am so happy to report that last month when we had 9" of snow rapidly melt, coinciding with 3" of heavy rain, it all drained away perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. Our experience was exceptional. Best of luck with your project(s). I hope this review serves you well - and please have a chat with Terra-Sol, and no I am not related:-). read more

Very happy with the process, costs and results. We have a complex yard with existing walls, fences, curbs, slope, and nothing square. Dave made it simple with quick answers to our questions and good recommendations. Minimal design time, but great solutions. He went out of his way to work with us as our thoughts changed. Once underway, his crew is hard working and efficient, on time, on budget. Could be 5 stars for us but we had a difficult time reading the plant names on his plan. If you're into plants like us, you want to know the names. No problem, we got the names, but if you like to ponder your plants, ask for some legible plans. read more

These people are a disaster and to be avoided at all costs. They took months to do the work and when they did they did it really poorly--I just had to have other people replace the trees (costing me hundreds of dollars) because Terra Sol hadn't bothered to take the plants out of the burlap bags so the plants died. read more

Great guys doing great work at a great price. Don't look any further! Dave came out and did the design. His team spent about 8 days at the house. They did a retaining wall, grading, sprinklers, some stairs and some sod work. The wall and the stairs they built were good. Sprinkler system was ok but they included unnecessary zones even after I told them they were not needed. Real problem I have is that the sod wasn't good, it was very choppy and 6 months later it is very thin and there are a lot of bare spots. I told them multiple times that the sod wasn't installed well and they sent multiple 'experts' out that told me it was fine. Also the drainage isn't very good in some areas. Price was competitive. read more

Truly this is as good as it gets!! Terra-Sol transformed our front yard, adding a neighbor friendly sitting area replete with water feature, bench wall, irrigation, lighting, plantings and boulder placements. They were quick to make any changes I suggested, discuss options during the process and adjust, incorporate plants I wanted to keep, yard art, etc. The price was right and the results are beautiful. read more
