We hired Allison Concrete to build a retaining wall behind our barn in 2022. It was next to impossible to get a company out to our property at that time to build the wall, with different companies giving me a variety of excuses. And, then, I called Allison Concrete. Sergio came out and gave me a very reasonable bid and started the work in a timely fashion. We didn't have to wait 3 - 6 months as was the case with more than one company. This year, we had an immediate, and very urgent need, to have a rock retaining wall built due to a failure in the fall by another company. We, again, thought of Allison Concrete in hopes that they could correct the failed wall and my wife's broken heart! Sergio came out "same day" to assess the disaster and see if he could remedy the situation out front. We received Sergio's extremely reasonable bid within 48 hours and quickly hired him to get the job done. Much to our surprise, Sergio put us on his schedule the following week. Within 2 days, Sergio and a helper created the most beautiful wall to the point that we could hardly remember the muddy disaster that we had to look at all winter through our kitchen window!! Correcting the failed wall and building a new wall was a big job and took a large backhoe as well as artistic skills to construct, as some of the large rocks/boulders weighed about 2000 pounds. We are looking at hiring Allison Construction for another job that just came up; concrete footings for a gazebo that will be built above our hot tub. Not only is Sergio the epitome of a true professional, he has a heart of gold and has a sincere desire to see his customers satisfied and happy! My wife is extremely happy with her new retaining wall! Sergio is always on time, cleans up his work space at the end of each day and works hard with no breaks that we saw! As you can see from the "before" picture of our project, it was pretty much a blank canvas at the start. We knew kind of what we wanted, but that's about it. I enjoyed working with Randy from the start. Communication is the KEY to success on projects and I commend him for his emails and texts. I knew when he was going to arrive and when there were any issues. He was so incredibly patient with us as well, as we were deciding some of the materials as the job was progressing. He and his team were consummate professionals from start to finish. The photos not posted, of the very, very wet and cold days would show the tented areas and the mud. I felt like I wanted to apologize every day. There were a couple changes I made mid-project and Randy was awesome about just making it happen - and quickly! I'm not sure I've seen someone work harder and have such talent in their craft. He knew things only decades of experience teach you. Concrete patio was ok but not great. There is a brush mark that stands out as it was done in the…read moreopposite direction of the rest of the patio and there isn't enough sealant on it as when it rains there are visable marks that look like lightening strikes with black spots. It just about looks like where the concrete is going to eventually crack? It's been a couple months now but maybe it takes longer for that to go away? The patio roof is fine on the straight part, other than the sections are not even - couldn't put the skylight where we wanted because it wasn't 24 inches wide so the skylight wouldn't fit there. all of their crew did not know how to properly fit the 90 degree angle side to the straight side. one side of the angle was not attached properly, but the other side was done correctly. Looks like one of their guys knew what he was doing and how to use the connecting metal brackets but the guy on working the other side of the beam did not. Even though that section will eventually be covered up/closed off with a ceiling it looks unprofessional. Also, on the front facing side of the roof there was a board that stood up in the inside corner that would not allow the roof flashing to lay flat in the inside corner that would hinder the water flow that would be draining to the gutters that we had to fix.

Maximus Construction Group was hired to complete a large concrete and asphalt project at our home…read more We were told the project would take approximately one week. Instead, it took nearly a month, leaving the exterior of our home in complete disarray for the entire duration. We specifically wanted the project completed before we left for vacation, but because of the delays, they required us to pay the project in full before we left--even though the work was still incomplete. There were also several issues with the quality of the work and the way our property was treated. They failed to properly cover the exterior of our home with plastic, resulting in concrete splatter all over the outside of our house. Their equipment also severely damaged our front yard, and they did not repair or restore it. As part of our agreement, they also agreed to move our shed to a specific location. This was something they offered to include given the size and cost of the project. After the project was completed, we repeatedly called and texted trying to get this taken care of. After weeks of trying to reach them with no resolution, we ultimately gave up because it became clear they were no longer responding. Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating. The project took roughly four times longer than we were originally told, our property was left damaged and messy, the work was incomplete when we were required to pay in full, and communication became nonexistent when we tried to address the remaining issues. Although the concrete portion of the work looks good and we are happy with that, based on our overall experience, we would not recommend Maximus Construction Group.

We interviewed 4 other contractors but he was the only one that gave us ideas on how to make it better than I could have imagined! What originally started as a single concrete slab in the back yard turned into a show piece walkway in the front yard and a back yard patio that was nice enough to add a gazebo! You would think that with all the extra add ons it would have been way over budget but it ended up costing much less than all the other quotes! We are looking at having Jose put in a new 28'x28' slab in the other side of the yard for a possible basketball hoop or, gosh, anything. I really recommend this company. He provided what seemed like a fair price, which I appreciated as a disabled veteran. About a week and a half before the project was scheduled to begin, he came by to collect a deposit that was supposed to cover materials, permitting, and inspection fees. Shortly after, he claimed he needed an additional $800 because he didn't have enough to purchase the necessary materials. I provided the additional funds at that time. Four days before the scheduled start date, I contacted him to confirm we were still on track. He came by to "go over a few things" and then asked for another $800 for permitting and inspection fees--costs he had already claimed were covered in the original deposit. At that point, I informed him we could not provide any more money and canceled the project that evening. He offered to pay the remaining costs out of pocket, but the following morning, I confirmed my cancellation and requested a full refund of the deposit. I had to follow up with him daily for three days before he finally dropped off a check--only to find it was a partial refund. When I asked why, he claimed there was a cancellation fee. After reviewing the paperwork I received, there was no mention of a cancellation fee. However, when I checked the documents online, I noticed new wording had been added, stating: "If cancelled less than 72 hours (3 days) prior to the scheduled start date: A cancellation fee of up to 25% of the total contract amount can be applied." First, I canceled well before the 72-hour window. Second, how can there even be a legitimate "start date" if no permits or inspections had been secured? This so-called contractor is dishonest and deceptive. I never received my full deposit back, and based on my experience, I strongly warn others to stay far away from doing business with him.
