This wasn't the lowest priced bid, yet it also wasn't the outrageously high quotes I received from other companies. I was very excited to finally get this work done. At the same time I was working with TGR, I was also contracted with a roofing company, a painter, and a gate company. In the end, the only company I had problems with was TGR Construction Co. There are things I wasn't prepared for in this process, such as my pictures falling off the walls during the siding tear off or the cracks in the ceiling and walls created with the tear off, of which they tried to tell me all these NEW cracks (I live in this home) are due to normal settling of my home and said all houses settle with time and this is normal and not due to the siding job. I know it's not a coincidence these new and sudden 'settling' cracks appeared with the siding work. They broke through the ceiling upstairs and they did own up to this, maybe because it's hard to justify 'normal' settling with sudden stucco all over the floor. There were structural issues that arose during the project, at nobody's fault, that ended up costing me $11K more than my contract. Then I was also charged $4900 more to remove windows and have them reset. Btw, three other companies included the window removal and reset in their contract. It was considered standard for other companies. After the siding and decks were done, I was left with HVAC refrigerant lines on the ground and blocking doors and windows for my tenants, wires dangling under the deck staircase, the Radon remediation system wasn't reattached correctly and sparked scaring a HVAC technician and me, a deck rail was reset too low, refrigerant line covers were accidentally thrown out, and my daughter and I each did double sweeps for nails left behind when work was done. It took almost two months of asking for them to resolve these unresolved issues before some things were finally done. Jan 20th, three months after the crew left, I finally had the last unresolved issue handled. As a consumer, when I contract with a company, I expect to have the job done right without unnecessary stress. That did not happen here. On the POSITIVE, the crew is hardworking and really nice guys. The siding and double decks look great now. My home underwent a metamorphosis and is now beautiful and I receive compliments. I had crappy, rotting decks replaced with sturdy decks. This is the only reason I give a 2 rating instead of lower. All the mishaps, repair delays, and stood up appointments made this extremely frustrating and stressful. Could I have achieved my desired results without the frustration? I'm sure I could have with a different company. Buyer beware! Educate yourself on all steps that need to be in your contract. Make sure the removal of your windows for proper flashing is in the contract. I know A LOT of people and all my other contractors received more jobs through my recommendations. I know currently four people who are looking for a recommendation for siding, yet I can't recommend TGR Construction.

They want too much of the money up front which seems to make them lose interest. 90% before the job is done. This star value could change if things look up. Update: Job was finished and work was done well. Continue with having the company credit us on the final bill for the air conditioner repair we already paid for. We have the pictures of their worker standing on the unit and the dent it cause. The salesman that does the estimates are very professional and make you feel like the company knows what they're doing. But not an actual representation of the workers and billing department. I will change the rating to a 3 because the work was good.

We used GM for both siding and exterior paint, at first they were extremely communicative, friendly, and the siding project itself seemed to go fine other than a few mishaps. With the siding, we loved how it looked but the work crew lacked professionalism. They left nails all over our yard, ripped bushes out of the ground on a carefully lined walkway, and pulled our front bushes down so aggressively they've never come back up and will have to be ripped out. The nails were a huge concern because we have a dog, and had we run one over with a mower that could have been dangerous for us as well. Months later we are still finding them. The contractors did compensate us for the bush they trampled. On to the paint. The painting contractors were awful from start to (never really) finished. They were unprofessional, left things in our trees and bushes, left garbage around our house and yard, trampled the bushes we had just replaced from the contractors (we weren't reimbursed this time), moved our fence post to a crooked location that we can't fix. Beyond that, we had a dark gray color with white trim, if you've ever painted over a dark color with white you know you have to have MANY coats to not have seep through of the darker color. For some reason, they painted all of it the dark color and then went over the trim with white, so in many areas you can see the bleed through of the gray. It looks tacky and like we DIY'd it. Additionally, we asked for the garage to be painted white and they painted it dark gray like the house.. when we asked them to fix it, they didn't open it to paint so as soon as we opened the garage it cracked on the bending panel and the insulation came out. I got in contact with the contractors right away and Kara said she would send someone out. She didn't, and that was now almost 3 months ago and they've completely ghosted us with a broken garage. They've also left their porta potty in front of our house this entire time (3 months and counting). Our neighbors across the street also hired them for siding and paint and they've also completely ghosted them for the paint. We initially would have recommended them but they ended up screwing us over so I'd go anywhere else.

Working with Jose, you'll very quickly realize how honest he is. My home was built in 1902, so there were obviously some challenges. His quote was one of best I received, but I still would have chosen his company, due to the way he presents himself. I found myself at home with some health issues on some days while they worked, and to be honest, it was very amusing, and relaxing for me. I would hear the music playing, and one of his crew members would suddenly break out singing to the song that was playing. Things like that showed that they were enjoying life, just working away, and happy. I also asked Jose to quote a roof for my house. Again, he was THE ONLY guy to actually get on my roof and measure things. I could hear him stomping around, checking the integrity of the plywood. No one else even got up there. I hired them to replace some siding…read more No communication at all. I had no idea when they were going show up. They would say morning and 4 hours later show up. After the work finally was completed there were issues. Part was a lack of communication, part my fault for not being 100% clear, part theirs. But then found that they damaged my new gutters with the ladder and roof that was only 5 weeks old. Now having to fight to get all repaired. My Roof and Gutters are new so under warranty and can only be repaired by the installed companies to keep the warranty intact. Which is very fare and reasonable. DK Exteriors insist they can "Fix it". But this would be at there discretion and their way. Not covered by the warranty. This company is terrible, Low quality work, Poor communication left a mess that i had to clean up and still not one apology for anything. They don't accept responsibility for their work. IF this gets resolved soon, i'll update all reviews.

This company somehow managed to make my home worse than it was to begin with. It looked like a Frankenstein project where they took pieces of carpet from different sources that they just had left over from other projects and there were seems everywhere with different carpets. The carpet also covered over the closet rails so they just swung. There were nails and objects under the carpet that you could feel as you walked. There was paint literally on EVERYTHING, floors, glass, mirrors, counter tops. The paint they used on the entire home, excluding the ceilings as they didn't paint that, was sprayed on and it peeled off! I literally mean it peeled off. All doors that they painted for $75 a piece, all peeled off. Not to mention the walls that were painted splashed all over the ceiling which was not the same color which is crazy because they used a blue tape along the edges. How do I know they used a blue tape on the edges? Because it was left on some of the high ceilings. Electrical sockets were missing, some screws for them were replaced with rusted ones. Those are nothing compared to them leaving the gas stove on AND a gas can was literally just sitting in my kitchen on the ground. That is what I found when I went to check up on the place. I sent them photos of everything and they said they would come back and fix it. Why I did this? Because I assumed the manager didn't know what their crew had done or something and my realtor stated to send them photos let them fix it before hiring another crew. I sent the photos and even with those it was not fixed. The carpet had less seems, and was at least all the same color and the closet rails had been uncovered. Some of the paint was cleaned off of some surfaces and that's it. They even asked to come out a third time to fix it again. NOT A CHANCE.
