Horrible customer service. We tried to put $20 on our card, the machine ate the bill, then the staff said it card must've been a defective card (it's not) and wouldn't refund us the $20 because they "weren't looking at us when it happened." There's a security camera facing the machine and they refused to have anyone come to check the footage. Not looking to scam any business out of money, but I certainly feel scammed today. read more

Maybe in the past they used to have good customer service but now they're terrible. Especially this woman, her attitude is terrible and I've seen her treat customers very differently based on her race. This is not okay at any establishment, yet it continues to happen. The manager is never there at the site so when there is a problem you can never get any resolution it's always you have to talk to the manager. read more

Been going here for 5-6 years now. Staff is always welcoming and friendly, always busy. They offer wash and fold but I only ever use self service. Can get busy on the weekend, I topically go on week nights and never had an issue not getting a machine. The machines are clean, never had any clothing damaged or destroyed. Also, grate you don't have to scramble for quarter, they have a laundry card ($1fee) you can load and reuse. They will also cash out the card and refund you the $1. I really vibe with Express Laundromat. I like to go on the weekends, usually Saturday... and there's a positive energy. I love seeing entire families cheerfully doing laundry together, and the machines always work! You pay for a card (it's cheap), and then you load money onto that card to use in the machines. It's like the casino, but it's actually more fun because you're getting chores done! This place is not sparkling clean, but it's on par with what you'd expect at a heavily trafficked location. A seemingly one-stop-shop for all things clothes-cleaning related, there are bountiful rows of washers and dryers, plus they do wash-and-fold for less than a buck a pound. That's a rate I've not seen outside of NYC! And, to make things even -more- convenient, if you've forgotten detergent or dryer sheets (or virtually any other paraphernalia necessary for improving the cleanliness of your wearables), you can purchase it directly here. Favorite laundry mat in Allston for a few reasons. They have the ability to take cash or card, you can park your car in the front, the machines WORK, and some people drop off their clothes and get them picked up. I have never done the drop off thing, but their hours are also until midnight. I'd recommend you try this laundry mat. read more

There is a parking lot which is the reason I went here. The parking lot is small, but at least there is one. I am sad to say that in no way do the posted photos resemble the condition of the establishment. It was dirty. The machines were dirty, on the outside of the machines and in the soap dispensers (black mold on some). Many machines were not working and some had the fronts removed. Numerous machines had orange cones in them. The floor was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the garbage was overflowing onto the floor. It was a busy Sunday, but in no way would the condition of the machines and overall condition of the establishment be significantly better during the week. The ladies who work there were extremely pleasant and helpful. I hope that management takes much better care of those ladies than they take care of the machines. read more

I have been using this laundromat for last 2 years. Not bad, not great, average... Today was my last drop... Couple of times I had a situation that my laundry was coming out dirty from the dryer. Saying "dirty" I mean dusty. Basically, I think staff forgets to clean dryers in time. Few times Spanish lady (do not know her name) refunded me for that and put my staff into washing machine and dryer again. Today spoke to Spanish guy (Mario as I got), and he was trying to convince me that it was my fault. Not even speaking basic English he was trying to explain that I set up too high temperature and put too much into dryer and etc. I asked to show me cleanliness of waste compartment in dryer (he states that cleans it every day). And, of course, it was dirty and dusty... I have got a credit to wash my stuff again, and asked to put everything into dryer for me, so I would not spend all my day in laundry. And guess what? Nobody even thought to do that! (i actually asked for it!!!) Mario's response was: "You come, you put into dryer." I felt like a total idiot! REALLY??? Well I'll start off by saying the card system they have is all good until someone steals your card out of the washer while you turn around for 2 seconds. Even better I had to pay $2 for another card and the employees could care less let alone speak any English at all. Then ill finish with half of the washers are broken down. Go someplace else! This is a fine laundromat - it gets the job done. My review only covers self-service laundry, but they do have additional laundry services available. There are a lot of washing machines (of different sizes, for different prices) and dryers, which makes up for the fact that a lot are always out of service. Prices seem reasonable. You pay using a special card ($2 when you first buy it) which I find more convenient than dealing with quarters, but very frustrating if you lose it. The machines are generally clean, although I've noticed some mold on a couple washing machines where you put the detergent in. Staff has always been friendly. There's something uplifting about joining legions of other allston-brighton residents on a Sunday morning to clean your clothes. Lots of other residents. The place cleared out by 12:30 PM. However, despite the crowds, I had absolutely no issues snagging 4 washers right next to each other. You see, I tried to sneakily wash my clothes at my babysitting job Saturday night only to be told by the three year old that it was "broke"... this is after the clothes were already covered in water and soap but not being washed. So, I was in desperate need of a washer Sunday morning. ASAP. Thank you, Laundromax. Yes, you have to "buy" a card for $2 with a $5 bill, but it's worth it. You can't refund the money on your card for cash. You can save your quarters for the meters instead of lugging them to the 'Max. And, maybe I'm not the most fiscally aware, but I never knew exactly how much I spent on laundry. The card makes it easy. The prices: $4 per double washer, $6 per triple washer, $0.30 per 10 minutes in the dryer. They also have quadruple washers. There are only like 4 "regular" washers, at $2.50 each. I spent around $19 total on 4 double loads of laundry, one load of which was not put in the dryer ("delicates"). There are TVs (on mute) to entertain you, you can people watch, or you can walk to the Tedeschis/DD or the donut shop to find some munchies while your laundry is a-washing. After my terrible experience at the Lost Sock, I was looking for a wholesome, clean experience.. and got it here. read more

The lovely lady allowed me to still wash even though I came after the "Last wash at 10:30" time! She kindly helped me use the machines as well! It was a little dirty in there! And seating is limited! Good place to do laundry! Everything is very well spaced out and there are just a lot of machines to go around. The staff was helpful and place is very clean. They sell Laundromax t-shirts and laundry bags which were great. I bought two bags, very useful. I even like the card system very much because like some Yelpers have mentioned before, it's not convenient to carry around or exchange for quarters. I'd rather put some credit to my card, the negative obviously being that I have to carry another card in my wallet. The best part of this is ... my gym is right next door! This is really the only good place in the area to do your laundry. For the following, "Top 3 Favorite Things" reasons: 1) It is spotless. The staff is always, always cleaning the place, and the cleaning solution they use to polish the stainless steel smells like delicious oranges (which almost, almost makes me feel like I'm doing my laundry in a sunny orange grove in Florida, and almost, almost makes me forget that I dragged my laundry there through the snow on a freezing Saturday morning). There is something gross about cleaning your clothes in a place that is filthier than that closet in your apartment that everyone piles their stuff in when you move in and it never gets cleaned out... 5 tenants later. Laundromax is a Godsend of cleanliness. 2) Using the triple or quad washers and the extra power dryers means you cut your laundry-doing time in half (or even quarters). Because seriously, as much as I love to do my laundry, I usually have better things I could be doing. Which makes me love Laundromax, because there are so many massive washing machines that make it easy to spend as little time there as possible. Although the telenovelas are pretty enthralling sometimes.... 3) Who has quarters anymore? Especially now that the T costs a solid $2. And who likes carrying pounds of quarters around when you're already lugging pounds of laundry and detergent? Not me. That little blue card and a nearly weightless $20 are all I need to lug every couple weeks, and that is glorious. And the staff is always really helpful when I'm trying to figure out exactly why my $20 isn't crisp enough to be accepted by the machine... or other assorted woes. read more

My friends jokingly refer to Laundromax as "Minoritymax." Probably because the giant TVs blasting spanish shows and telenovelas. It's a bit pricey but worth it. It's always spotless, the workers are friendly and helpful an my clothes are always clean when they come out. Plus, parking and late hours. Also, don't try to go on a weekend. It's packed. They really should reduce their prices though....that's my one real gripe. If prices will be that high, they should fold the laundry and change loads for me. read more

Drop off service is great! Less than $1 per pound! They fold like a dream. Pretty quick turnaround too. A LOT of their dryers are out of order at the moment... They ripped out an entire wall of them and out of the ones that are left, most don't function well. The one time I try to do my own laundry, I can't even dry them... I ended up having to take them home wet (in the middle of winter!) and dry them on my heaters which is totally a fire hazard.. .don't do it! YES! On the drop off service NOOOOO!!! I honestly wouldn't have known this place isn't called Laundromax anymore if I didn't come to write a review about it. It says Laundromax all over the place still. We come here because the washing machine and dryer in our 2-family house are old, inefficient and expensive ($2.50 to wash and $0.75 per 6 minutes to dry). It would take about 8 hours to do what I can do in about 2 hours at the laundromat. It is usually pretty easy to get a parking spot right out front even though they advertise that there is additional parking available. Once inside it's usually pretty clean and there is an employee walking around puttering and cleaning up. I've never had a problem getting a high capacity washer, which for around $9.25 can get all my laundry done in one shot. The dryers are usually available, but I can't always get two upper dryers, which I prefer. This is being super picky, and I realize that. The televisions usually have an assortment of trashy shows or Spanish language news on, which I find hilarious and entertaining while I do my laundry. The one con is that there are usually a bunch of kids running around and using the laundry carts to play with. It makes trying to fold without getting injured kind of hard. read more

A-Ok sums it up. This place has lots of washers and dryers. There are many sized washers to choose from. This means that you can throw weeks worth of laundry in to a single washer or if you only have a little bit to wash pick a small washer. I generally go with the $6 dollar washer which will hold at least an overfilled upright laundry basket and a stuffed laundry bag. If you forget to buy anything there is detergent and softener at the counter for purchase. This place also has a good amount of parking out front... I've never had a problem, and it is open late (midnight). The downside 1/3 of the machines are always out of service. You have to pay $2.00 for a wash card. This card is the only way to pay for washers, money is loaded onto it. At least you can use it to purchase detergent if you need to. There are t.v.s but they are usually on Univision, great if you are into telenovellas. Occasionally they will be playing a sports game. read more

My roommate and I have been using the drop off laundry service here for nearly 2 years now! Ever since we lived in Allston and had "free laundry" in our basement which our landlord never saw fit to repair we have been using Express Laundromat's laundry by the pound service. It has always been reasonably priced and we continue to come back and utilize them when the volume of laundry just becomes too much. They do a great job and in TWO years of consistent visits we have never had a problem, never had a bad experience, which to me says everything because even places I really like I can't say that about! The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Our clothes are always ready when they say they'll be (sometimes early) and they're neatly folded and organized even the socks are paired up. We've never lost an item or even the laundry bag/IKEA bag/rolly bag that we brought the laundry in. I highly recommend Express Laundromat for their drop off laundry service. Wish they had a bigger parking lot, but the tetris that is the parking lot always works out and hey at least they have a parking lot! read more

I have been using their WDF service for about a year. I also occasionally use their dry cleaning for shirts. They have an amazing WDF, my clothes are always beautiful, perfectly folded. The ladies are always very cheerful, and extremely pleasant! This place is always clean, and very well maintained. I have no issues leaving my clothes/dry cleaning here, sometimes I even leave my clothes for a couple of days, since the dry cleaning takes longer and I don't feel like taking two trips. Great laundromat! I was a little skeptical after reading some reviews however after going and dropping off a whopping 68 pounds of laundry and receiving clean, perfectly folded clothes back I am a true fan! The clothes were ready at 8pm that same day which was surprising since I dropped off so much clothes and sheets and towels, i expected to get them back the next day! When i went to pick them up and saw the price was only $68 I was shocked!!! It felt like I got away with stealing, that deal is the best deal i have seen at any laundromat. I once went to one in Waltham that charged me almost $200 for half the clothes! Mind you, these clothes etc came out perfect. They were folded almost like a machine had done it because it was that uniform while the clothes smelt amazing. For wash, dry, fold at that price I will continue to go here. It was definitely reassuring finding a place here since I just moved a couple months ago to Allston and was very nervous about finding a place where I can trust with my clothes. This place is great. The double and triple washers let me get my clothes done and no time AND cut home much I would have to spend in 1/2 and the dryers are some of the cheapest I've seen anywhere. While their laundry bags are a bit pricey I'd recommend getting on...they are super durable. read more

The washer and dryer at my house broke and without time for sitting in a laundromat for hours I decided to try a W-D-F service here in the states (I frequently used them when I lived in Asia). As I drove up I was a little skeptical at first, the parking lot is small and I could see the "telenovelas" on all of the [nice, flat screen] tvs. The service was great! The girl working came right over to help me and despite her thick accent and my somewhat difficult name I was in and out in a jiffy. Since I went in later in the afternoon I was told I could come back any time the next day (they open at 7am) and retrieve my clothes. It wasn't a service that I will do very often because of the price (I just can't spend $30 to wash my clothes every week), but my clothes, towels, and blankets have never been that soft! And they smelled like heaven! My normal detergent is good, I love Tide, but whatever they use at this place is magical. read more

Look, this place might be great for fluff and fold, but it is THE WORST laundromat I've ever had to wash my clothes in. First, half of the single load machines don't work. More often than not, you can pull a "Fonzie" by hitting them to get them started. The others are just broken, missing doors, and forcing the customer to pay more for the larger machines, or wait until a working machine is available. Many of the dryers are broken too. Secondly, this place is just too damn expensive. There are currently two machines that cost less than $3 a load, a handful that cost less than $4, and the rest are all $5+ (larger loads). Great if you're part of a large family, but crap if you're a single person. Dryer prices aren't too bad, but I'm used to free dryers when I'm paying $4 for a SMALL (apartment-sized) washer. The staff are friendly, but the broken down machines aren't worth the price. read more

I drop my large bags of clothes off here every week and they are WONDERFUL! Very friendly people. My clothes are folded and organized nicely when I pick them up and smell fresh. I'm a baker, so my white tops are always a mess when I drop them off, but they bleach them and they are good as new when I wear them to work :) They have parking and are always fast, if I drop my clothes off in the morning before 10, they usually will be done to be picked up at night the same day!! When EVERY washer in my building was out of order, this is where I ran to do my laundry. It's really clean and open until midnight, which is really all I wanted. The $2 deposit to get a card (to use to pay for doing the wash... the machines don't take money) was kind of weird, but it's a deposit so you do get the money back. read more

Clean enough, cheap enough... but the dryers are very inefficient (and overpriced), and there is nowhere to sit (three chairs in the front, three more in the back; during busy times the place fills up with 12-18 people). Also they effectively close an hour before they say they do. I showed up at 11:00pm with a small load of laundry and the proprietor turned me away saying there wasn't time. Their sign does not mention a "last call" time, so I have no idea when it might be. During the day it is ok, but I would recommend not wasting your time after 10:00pm. read more
