Smell when you walk in is wonderful. Tachmid was so attentive and our lunch was great. I was craving a roasted savory lamb shank and was not disappointed. My entire entree was delightful. Ordered: Kabuli Palao With Lamb Shank Qabuli palao rice with lamb shank & chopped tomato salad. Comes with naan and extra sauce from the glaze. Also served with both green chutney & white sauce. Also ordered a 1/4 lb Burger with seasoned fries (white sauce, seasoning and a red sauce) This was exactly what I was craving. There is a 100% chance of a return. **** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ****

I was in the area and needed a place to grab lunch, I saw other reviews on Yelp! And decided to try this restaurant out! The aroma hits you immediately of yummy flavors and you can see the marinated meats in the front display. The ambiance is casual, with plenty of seating and they also offer to go as well. Service was a bit slow, but it was because they were preparing a catering order. Otherwise the gentleman at the front was pleasant and friendly. I got the kobideb w naan- it was delicious!!! The kebab was fresh off the grill and steaming when places on the naan. And the naan was soft and was able to capture all the juices from the kebab perfectly. The portion was large and super satisfying!!! Glad I stopped by and got try some amazing food!

Lamb Kabob

This place has been hit or miss. The only time we really enjoyed the food was when we dined in. Every pickup order has been disappointing. We ordered the lamb kabob plate with Kabuli rice, and they charged an extra $3.50 for the rice, yet the portion was still small. The kabob pieces were also very small for a $15 dish, especially compared to other places that do a much better job. The bread was not fresh. The only item we actually liked was the chapli kabob, and that's the only thing I would recommend. Overall, the food is overpriced and not worth it.

Came in today to do a take out order for Mantu and Badamjan(fried eggplant). Both items were very delicious! First, the Mantu is basically a dumpling type bun filled with meat along with tomato paste, yogurt, lentils, and spices. The serving you receive is big enough to be a meal on its own. And it's incredibly satisfying as well! The Badamjan with Naan was amazing as well! They also have Kebob, rice, and baklava. The location was clean and well kept. Definitely recommend trying this location out. You will not be disappointed!

If you're looking for really good and favorable afghan food, try Express Kabob. For appetizers I always get the following: 1. Mantu (must try) 2. Bolani (fried bread with potato filling) 3. Bademjan (eggplant) (must try) For the main course I get the following 1. chapli kabob with spinach and Mediterranean salad and rice 2. Koobideh kabob with Mediterranean salad and humus 3. Chapli kabob burger Their food is amazing. The service is friendly and the ambience is quiet. The restaurant is clean

Some of the best authentic afghani food in Dallas! Kabobs were delicious! We got the mantu and bolani as well, and both were great. Service was also great, and really friendly owner! Definitely would come back!

I ordered the lamb kebab combo with hummus and the mantu. Love it exceptionally tasty. The bed of rice that the kebab was in was a very nice surprise, very fragrant and flavorful. Everyone there is very friendly. And I will have to come back one evening for the buffet.

Decided to come here as I was visiting for a few days from California, wow! Definitely left me amazed, true authentic Afghan food and really great customer service. Great vibes! Busy as well, a busy restaurant is always a good sign!

There's a huge lamb shank under all that rice

Upon entering you are greeted with a warm smile, and food came in big family size portions recommended for sharing. It was perfect for my friends and I who were super hungry and wanted to try a few items. We started with the lamb samsa ( not pictured as I was too hungry) which was perfectly baked with a juicy spicy lamb that was super tender inside. We then also had this beef noodle dish which was the best dish of the night. Can't recall the them of it but, I'd definitely come back just for that dish. We also got the lamb shank Plov which was another favorite, and lastly the dumplings, which were our least favorite. The dumpling dough was a but too thick for our liking. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, especially with our server who was so kind and friendly, and so were her family. I'd definitely come back here again to try some of their other dishes next time.

Even though we only ordered takeout, the woman working…read morewas incredibly helpful - walking us through the menu, explaining each dish, and checking our spice tolerance. You can tell she genuinely cares about sharing her culture and cuisine. The space itself is lovely, with thoughtful decor and relaxing music that creates a welcoming atmosphere without being too sleepy. It's clear that pride in heritage and culture shines through in every detail. We ordered a little bit of everything - Uyghur laghman, korma chop, Big Plate Chicken, lamb skewers, lamb samsa, and ayran - and every single item exceeded expectations. The lamb skewers were tender and flavorful, but the lamb samsa were the moment we realized we were in for something truly special. They were unbelievably delicious: crisp pastry, deeply seasoned filling, and so aromatic that you don't want the bite to end. Don't let the menu descriptions fool you into thinking the noodle dishes are similar. They might read like variations on meat and noodles, but in reality each one is completely distinct and packed with its own personality. The Big Plate Chicken comes with the widest, springiest noodles and carries the most heat. The korma chop features wonderfully chewy noodles with a medium kick. And the Uyghur laghman (hand-pulled, by the way) has the thinnest noodles and, in my opinion, the best texture of all. Every dish is hearty, rich, vibrant, and so full of flavor that I can't possibly do them justice in words. You simply have to try them yourself. Even the ayran stood out. I've had it many times before, but this one was exceptional - perfectly salty in a way that enhances the tangy, yogurt-like flavor instead of overpowering it. Our total came to $80, but considering we intentionally ordered a wide spread, it works out to about $20 - 30 per person - an amazing deal for food this thoughtful and delicious. Highly, highly recommended. This place is something special, and perfect for anyone looking to experience authentic Uyghur cuisine!

Actually my friend brought it with them to their house and made me try it. So I came and got a burger today, the mushroom and Swiss burger. The burger was ok. It wasn't love at first bite, however the flavor was what was expected. The party was a little thin, but the meat was good and cooked well on the grill. The flavor was nice. I am definitely going to come back and try some other items on the menu and get the chicken again. I just read another review. I would like to clarify that even though this restaurant was small it was very clean. I ordered the double cheeseburger, and the patties were so thick that I had to remove one just to enjoy it; it was okay after that, but nothing particularly special stood out about the burgers. The atmosphere wasn't great either. The staff didn't seem friendly or welcoming; no greeting when we came in, and ordering felt awkward. On top of that, the place had a bad smell, which made it feel a little dirty. We originally planned to eat inside but ended up ordering to go because of this. The saving grace was the loaded fries OMG, so good! Honestly, I'd come back just for those. Maybe it was an off day, because I feel like this spot has potential to be good, so we might give it another chance in the future.

For one, staff seem to be trained well and stay around much longer nowadays while the kitchen staff are working much quicker and reliably to get your orders out. I used to regular have to ask for corrections but that hasn't been an issue of late. As for the food, they have seemingly doubled the size of their menu so there's much more for me to try out, but their classics like the Brisket, Philly Cheesesteak and especially the Zinger Fried Chicken Sandwich have seen marked improvements. That last comes out crispy, thick and with a spicy garlic mayo that's to die for. If they improve across the board like that it's a winner. This has definitely moved to deserve it's spot as a local institution I would recommend and if this trajectory continues, I'll probably be back later to bump up their rating.

Well luckily I've been inside their shiny marble halls enough time to pass my final verdict. For one, it seems like staff turnover is a concern here, as I often see new staff up front who are unfamiliar with their own menu or promotions while the food gives me an idea of what's going in the back. Which is to say, nothing has ever been consistently good here and there's been many occasions of food that's poorly seasoned, undercooked or simply spoiled. I know they have the ability to do better but is it worth the suffering for the opportunity? My answer is NO. For the markedly above average cost and inconsistent leaning poor quality, this isn't the local institution I would personally advise you to support. I am familiar with Indian food so most of the names are recognizable, but the delicious differences are not to be missed! We ordered the lunch special which was $14.99 for 2 meats (one grilled and one in sauce), rice, a small salad of onions and lettuce, and dessert. I believe they specialize in grilled meats, cause the flavor was fantastic! The picture showed rice pudding for dessert but they came out with gulab jamen instead. I was disappointed at first but dang if that wasn't the best version of this I have ever had. I wanted a vegetable also so for the same price of $14.99 I got palak paneer and naan, which was a more earthy, less milky version as well. Naan was also best in class. I don't always love naan cause it can be rubbery. This was excellent. Soft and pillowy. It was so much food that we took it home and had a whole other meal. What a value for $14.99 each! The space is beautiful and though the clientele seems to be mostly Pakistani, they are welcoming to all. Service was a touch slow, but not painful. We still got in and out during our lunch break. I honestly think they just need more customers and so I want everyone to know that it was a new experience for me and I was super happy with the food. Welcome to the neighborhood Grand Tandoori!
