One of the benefits of getting a quarterly PM agreement is that you get a regular inspection and that the vendor doing your PM communicates with you. This has not been the case with Excel. While we are getting loads of compliments on how nice the techs are; they tend to show up weeks and months late. This last job was two and a half months late and returning phone calls or emails are a too rare event. If they treat their corporate customers like this, I'm concerned about how they handle residents. read more

We had to replace a downdraft vent in our kitchen. The old vent pipe was rectangular, and the vent pipe on the new unit is round. We needed an HVAC person to connect the round pipe to the rectangular hole in the floor. Several HVAC companies flat turned us down, but Excel Air came out and did the job. I made an appointment with Excel Air through the Yelp messenger option. Kelli was very accommodating and helpful in determining if they could service our older model whole house fan. I was doubtful that it could be saved; however, Steven Medina came out and did a great job finding what was wrong and fixing it all in one trip. It needed a new part, and he happened to have that part in his truck. It is up and running like new, and the price was less than expected for the time it took to repair it, and having to crawl up in that attic space over and over. As other reviewers have said, Steven was knowledgeable, efficient, and so polite. He even took the time to investigate what looked like a possible roof leak while he was up there, and sent me pictures so I could see the problem. I purchased a new heating and air conditioning system for my 40 year old mobile home in May 2016. Steve, Excelair salesman was very knowledgeable and the installation went smoothly. I didn't start using it until summer and noticed the thermostat was inaccurate by several degrees, so I placed my first service call. Roxanna sent someone out and it was calibrated. When cold weather set in I noticed a 'rumbling' noise each time the thermostat was adjusted up, to the point where the thin wall in my kitchen vibrated. I asked that someone come and check the unit which brought Leo who spent 2 hours investigating the cause. Unfortunately, the cause was not determined but I waited a month before making a call to salesman Steve for advice. That call resulted in the service manager calling me and promising to sent out the senior technician same day. Lucas discovered the cause of the rumbling and remedied the problem. He also said my thermostat was in a bad location which I had already decided to change. He suggested a remote unit that I could put in any room. Awesome idea, except it was 6 degrees out of calibration which I discovered when comparing the reading to my laminate floor thermostat. Another call to Roxanna sent Leo and Chris back out to recalibrate the unit. They suggested I have the warm weather maintenance done since they were there and confirmed that my first year's maintenance program was included in my purchase price and by agreeing to the maintenance plan, labor would always be at no charge. Although I wasn't expecting any issues with my new unit, I am very pleased with the responsiveness and diligence in taking care of my problems. For this reason, Excelair gets 5 stars. read more

My 85 year old dad just had a new air conditioning unit and new heater unit installed. Right from the start the representative Alex was professional and helpful. They quoted prices but dad ended up in the hospital. Then the virus started. After 3 months they honored the price. Awesome company! On the day of installation they arrived on time. My home was built in the early 70's and over the last 3 years my wife and I have completely gutted and remodeled the entire house, from the ceiling down of course. We thought that everything above the ceiling was in good working order, but come to find out that the ventilation ducting was as old as the house and leaking air into the attic. After paying very high electric and gas bills over the past few years we decided to have Excel Air come out to quote us new ducting which would allow for better air flow into the home as we knew that a lot of the air was escaping into the attic due to holes and cracks in the current ducting. The Excel Air sales rep Mike had come out to our home and provided us a quote to replace the ducting with the latest and greatest R-6 insulated flex ductwork, but was concerned about our current AC/Furnace as they to were as old as the house. After 30 minutes of investigation Mike had determined that we should look at replacing the older units with a more efficient AC and Furnace, which would be more effective in hearting and cooling our home, plus would reduce our monthly electric and gas bill substantially. Mike then provided us a great price on the ductwork and AC/Furnace then explained how this would benefit us for years to come and how the entire installation process would work. With this information in hand we decided to move forward with the entire installation and was scheduled within 2 days of Mike coming out to our home. On Monday morning at 8:30am sharp both Wyatt and Robbie showed up ready to start their work. I can't say enough about the both of them as they were professional in every aspect, worked together as a team and were very knowledgeable in providing me information on what they were doing and how these new systems work. When the work was all done both Wyatt and Robbie had made sure that the entire house was free of any blown in insulation that had fallen out of the attic and through the vents and that the areas of work in the backyard and garage were spotless. I cannot say enough about the team from Excel Air and would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional air and heating company that will get the job done with very little work on your part. Oh BTW, when you purchase a new AC/Furnace from Excel Air they provide you with a complimentary 2 year maintenance to inspect and perform annual AC maintenance or furnace maintenance to ensure that there products are safe, and operate to its maximum capacity and efficiency. ---SEARS WARNING--- Never use Sears for any home improvement work. I contracted sears to install a brand-new heating and AC unit with a brand-new electrical panel on my home. Sears subcontracted Excel Air to do the job. When the job ran into some problems Sears would never reply back on the issues .The job came to a stop . Sears had to approve any additional work that needed to be done for this job. The only way I could get this job completed right was to contact the Hero program who finance the job. They were able to get Sears to finally respond and take responsibility for their contracted job. Excel air also tried to contact Sears but in the end Excel air did what ever it took to get things done professionally. They stand behind there work . To this day Sears haven't attempted to contact me at all. I emailed Sears tried leaving messages because there never was anyone who could help me every time I call Sears. Sears sold me the unit in May 2016 and the unit did not get installed until September 21 of 2016 and was not complete it due to Sears delays until November 2016. I would recommend going directly through Excel air for your projects. read more

My Reem central air conditioning of 18 years stopped blow cold on the Saturday, a week before labor day. I called a service vendor which I have used for many years on my rental properties. They sent a tech out the following Monday. The tech seemed to have problems using his equipment. He decided the system was low on Freon and added 2 1/2 pounds. The following Saturday, labor day weekend, It stopped working again. I called the owner who promised to send someone back. Nobody came on Saturday, nor Sunday. He promised me that he, the owner, would be at my house by 10 o'clock Monday morning. Nobody showed on Monday morning and by 10:30 I started leaving voice mail and text messages all day. He never responded to my messages. As a back backup I called Excel. They answered the phone on Monday and said they would try to get someone out the same day, but for sure could get someone to me on Tuesday. They called during the day and keep me up to date. Tuesday I was on schedule and Lucas arrived by 1:00. He found that the A Frame unit above the furnace was leaking and gave me options to repair the A frame, replace the A frame or replace the complete system. I elected to replace the A frame unit. They had the parts in stock and completed the repair the following day. In all, I was very pleased with the professionalism and quality of workmanship of Excel. They may not be the cheapest, but they are reliable which is very important to property managers.. read more

Yesterday my fiance and I got our new heating and cooling system installed in our home we recently purchased. We chose Excel Air Corp. Alex the lead engineer came out last week and told us what we needed done and what our options where. Then just yesterday technicians Chad and Lucas came out to install our new equipment. They both were knowledgeable and professional. They kept us informed along the way. As they began testing the system, I was discovered that the compressor fan was an out of box failure. Chad came back the next morning and replaced the fan motor. Everything runs great and we are very happy with the service Excel gave us. I do have to say they are very expensive though. I must say that the EXCELAIR crew were the best installers I have ever delta with. They arrived on time, were extremely professional answering all of my questions, and worked diligently to complete the job in one day! The whole installation crew were excellent and in particular Lucas and Caleb which were the lead installers. The following day Enrique from EXCELAIR returned to meet with third party representative to verify that the installation was complete and operating properly. Excel Air was recommended to me by another industry professional (plumbing) when I asked for someone to trust. I am naturally suspicious that all contractors look for ways to extract money from me. Especially, when the contract will be for a 30 year product (like a furnace) My furnace had failed in the earlier part of the week, and after looking at it and trying the few tricks I knew, realized I needed some professional help. When Nick arrived, the instructions were clear, what was wrong, how much would it be to fix, what is the cost of a new Furnace and what are my options. Nick was VERY knowledgeable, gave me the information and options. My dad had just gotten a new furnace (close to what I needed) and so I had some pricing information from Costco in my head as Nick provided me his quote. I was pleasantly surprised. Without prompting his price beat Costco's. Further, when checking inventory, the furnace I had purchased was not in stock, so they upgraded me to a much more efficient one (that cost $300-$500 more wholesale). The installers came the next day and completed the replacement of my system without problems. I had a question on my unit and left a message for Nick, who called me back that very night with answers. Let me start out with Alex Kuhtarev who came out on short notice to give me a bid for a mini-split for my latest condo. He explained all the options so I clearly understood them. And he gave me such a great deal on this setup I had to ask myself if this was for real. Installation started yesterday - and was finished up mid-afternoon today. Yep - it was for real. My condo is already like a meat locker. The units are quieter than I expected - both inside and outside - so quiet I was wondering if they were working initially - until I started getting cold. Real cold. Really really cold. Had to be shown how to adjust the air to "comfortable". I have a dog. The dog sheds. I swear that the condo was cleaner AFTER the installation than it was before the crew got started (Wyatt, Frankie, and Jose --- I'd ask for them by name if you want the best possible crew available). Best crew. Best price. Best experience. Scheduling was done by Oscar. I was notified of every step along the way and reminded of when the crew would arrive, etc. Then repeatedly by msg text as each part of the job was completed. When my central air finally goes out in my other condo (built in 2006 - so that day is coming (sooner than I would like) I will be calling Alex to get it replaced with a "ducted" version of what I just purchased. We had been satisfied with Excel Air prior to the Lilac Fire. The ash & heat ruined our furnace. Insurance took care of the furnace, and we paid for a new air conditioner. They were both installed on the same day in February. Everything was paid in full, the final invoice reflected all my payments made on time, showing a zero balance. One week before Thanksgiving, Excel Air calls me and said we need to prove we paid for our air conditioner. One week later they send us 2 new invoices dated end of April totaling $4,700. and threatens us with a mechanics lien if we don't pay. We were able to prove we paid, however this is not how you treat an existing customer, fire victim or senior citizen. This amounts to abuse of what once was a satisfied customer. read more
