Strongest possible recommendation! I contacted "Better" late in the day yesterday, figuring I would get help in the morning. Mike messaged me back and said he could stop by "after hours" to check out my HVAC. He and his wife showed up around 8pm and he asked me for details about the problem...AND LISTENED!!!! Had Mike come out to check and configure an AC system and heat pump installed by another installer that was ignoring me after their bad install. Mike made sure to call me back in 30 minutes and had me scheduled the very next day. He took his time to ask what was the make, model and problems. By the time Mike showed up the next day, he already had the problem figured out. He took a look, spoke with me and realized that the installer doubled the fan speed resulting in an inefficient system that was not cooling the house down. 30 minutes later, the house was cool, dry and much more comfortable. Other AC companies are not even returning phone calls during this heat wave - Mike makes it a point to take care of those that will support him for a very long time. I live in a 3 story townhome and our AC condenser is in the attic. One day the condensation pan overflowed and water spilled over and I was only able to know something happened because the water made a water spot on the ceiling. I wanted to contact a local company who had experience in working on units like mine so I went with these guys. They were responsive and were available the next day. The technicians that cam by were professional and thorough. They not only fixed the problem but they made adjustment to ensure that it doesn't happen again. They also opened up the condenser to do an inspection to make sure that it was functioning properly. My AC system was super messed up so I had to re-duct the whole house as well as install a new air handler and condenser unit. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this company. All of us in San Diego (especially inland) know that being without air conditioning is the worst and many companies have to set appointments two or three days out. None of us want to be miserable on 95+ degree days. The owner was incredibly timely in responding to my messages, was quick to come out and diagnose the issue with our air conditioning, and was super patient when explaining what the problem was. It ended up being that a circuit had been tripped, which is why our air conditioning was on but wasn't actually cooling. He was so good with my dogs too! I'm so happy about that because we had been having improvements made in the home and the people we'd had out weren't nice to them at all.
