Originally the problem was a leaky toilet. I called Carroll Plumbing and they sent someone out immediately. It turned out that the tank was cracked. I needed a new toilet. I told him I would go and pick one out and call them back to have them install it. That's what I did. The very next day they came and installed it. I can't say enough about Mike Carroll Plumbing. We recently had a slab leak and Mike was referred to us by a local realtor. (Plus he had installed our hot water heater a couple years ago so we had planned on calling him anyway.) So a young man came and I did not need a new toilet (I had a Toto toilet). He had to put in the proper flapper and also the flusher. Mike Carroll stopped by to give me a talk about toilets: Toto toilets are the best around with American Standard and Kohler copying them. He said that, and this was true for me, that you have to have the correct flapper. Two years of putting up with not being able to use this toilet and finally solved. Very inexpensive. I needed some work done. I have 5 angle stops that needed to be replaced as part of the work I wanted done. The technician said that he needed to solder additional pipe once the old angle stop was cut. He said that's the right way to do it & that's how we do it. I asked how long it would take for each angle stop, he said 45 minutes. At 45 minutes per angle stop that's a cost of $525 for just the angle stops. I responded to him how come I've had at least a dozen angle stops replaced previously & no one plumber said they needed to solder extra pipe. He called Mike & said they won't do the job without doing the angle stops their way. I don't know how they're getting these high reviews? I had a leaky spigot/faucet and called Carroll Plumbing. They were quick to respond and were able to come out the same day. The technician John was great. Very professional, courteous, and explained the process. Overall, he did a great job with the repair. He arrived at 12:02pm and finished at 2:27pm. When I asked how much the total was for 2.5 hours of labor, he said he would have to call the owner to get the price. After waiting for an additional 20 mins, I get the bill and it's for 2.75 hours. I'm not sure if this is the way labor costs are normally calculated in the plumbing business but I feel it's not fair as labor costs should be based on actual # of professional labor hours. We were in need of a plumber to fix/repair our leaking shutoff valve to our residence. Mike responded to our contact message and request very quickly and after speaking on the phone and explaining our issue and sending him photos he fit us ino his schedule within a couple of days. John who was sent out to do our service, arrived promptly as scheduled. He first checked our water pressure and made suggestions on how to procede. He explained a few options and was professional and knowledeable of what needed to be done. John replaced the leaking water valve and regulator as well as the copper pipe at the house. He worked cleanly and had our water back on in short order. After making sure that there were no leaks, John went over what parts he replaced and had us test our water pressure inside the house. Our toilet started leaking water out the base, and I knew that wax ring seal was shot. They came out and fixed it quickly. They replaced the bolts and the supply line too, and even put some sealant around the bottom. Additionally they shimmed the toilet to keep it from rocking and breaking another wax ring. read more
