5 STARS Excel Air is a top-notch service company! I recently found them on ABC 10 Approved Home Pros. They are one of the very few hand selected HVAC companies in all of San Diego! Knowing that Approved Home Pros only chooses the best and will back "ME" the customer.. Made me feel more at ease when contacting them. I recently had them out to perform maintenance for my air conditioning system. They were so thorough going through my entire system, that it took about an hour. The tech had a 56 point check list that I could look over and he explained services that were performed before I signed off on it. Excel Air is the only company I will ever have in my home again! I've had other companies do my maintenance in the past. I thought I was getting a really good deal for for such a CHEAP PRICE. But now I realize you really do get what you pay for! The other companies showed up and stayed for maybe 10-15 minutes. Changed the filter (which I could probably had done myself) and would leave. Or I've had those guys pressuring me to make repairs to my working system that I know I did NOT NEED! I could tell those OTHER COMPANIES weren't being honest because they couldn't give me straight answers, advert from my original questions, rattling nonsense and only began to confuse me. I also had the feeling they didn't even know what they were talking about. Excel Air's tech was so very professional, friendly and patient answering ALL my questions. Actually knowledgeable when he spoke and giving me a clear understanding as he explained how the system works. He didn't BS me. When he wasn't 100% sure about specific detailed questions I had (which I had many) He contacted the office and made sure he was able to answer my inquisitive mind honestly. The supervisor called me back answering more difficult engineering questions. He was a really smart guy and you could tell he knows what he's talking about. While I understand my system is a bit older and may need parts replaced from time to time. Excel Air's technician gave me recommendations letting me know about repairs I may want to consider in the future such as the motor capacitor is starting become weak. He showed me the meter readings and explained where the reading should be according to the clearly marked label. He explained my fan may stop working in the future once this capacitor thing dies. That if that cap thing stops working that doesn't mean the motor is dead too. He said that my motor was still in good working condition even for its age according to his meter readings. He didn't pressure me or give me scare tactics that I must get repairs done right away! He just simply explained that my fan may stop working soon and let me know how this can add more strain to the motor and electrical. At least I'll know WHY when my AC stops working and can only blame myself if it breaks in the middle of summer. Talking to him made me feel like I was really starting to understand how my AC works. He emailed me a estimate for the repair and gave me 10% off the parts and labor combined! Because I'm now a VIP customer after signing up for the maintenance program. Plus at no additional charge he helped me reprogram my NEST thermostat I'm still trying to figure out how to use. Great experience starting with the girls in the office, to the service tech who worked in my home, and even afterwards when the supervisor called me to answered my additional questions. The girls in the office were so sweet and pleasant while scheduling my call. They explained service prices which I found to be reasonable and comparable to even the CHEAP companies (don't waste your time). They even called me the day before my appointment to give me a friendly reminder and confirming appointment window time (which is only a couple hours.. unlike the the cable guy's all day 8 hour window). I received a text message when the technician was on his way over and a phone call from the tech giving me an ETA. Finally my last comment... Is that I love knowing that I'm supporting a "Local family owned company" who has been around 20 years! The experience felt more personable and I felt they were more connected with me as their customer. It felt like I'd been with them for years even though this was my first experience. Reminds me of how things used to be when you would call your local repairman. The couple who started this company had such a fascinating story to tell on ABC 10 Approved Home Pros reminding me what America really stands for and why it is already a great country! I've already been recommending Excel Air to my family and neighbors. And to my surprise found out they have a referral benefits too! We just had our heating furnace replaced by Jose Lopes & his team from Excel Air here in Escondido California. Just the best & most reliable company to associate with. Seriously. Not an easy unit to replace in a Mobile home... so extra details. They have to go under the house & coordinate with each other. Excel Air Corporation has, in the last two years, installed a new A/C compressor and a new furnace for us, replacing the 21 year old equipment. They went the extra mile and repaired other problems such as burned wiring, insulation, etc., and their work is clean. Our experiences with this company have been very positive. Every person we have dealt with has been knowledgeable, polite, professional, and efficient. They come out promptly and are always on time, and they follow up on their work. Jessica, from the office, even helped me with computer issues! There were never any pushy sales pitches. Everything was explained to us; we were given options so we could compare and make decisions we were happy with; pricing was up-front and reasonable. At few years back I decided on a local Heating and Air Conditioning company to do business with and course I chose Excel Air!! The crew installed a new Heater in the garage (that was a task)!! but--they the crew knocked it out with out standing PROFESSIONALISM, and just great attitudes!!!---Then just two months ago I had them install a brand new awesome A/C in the back yard (I love looking at it, it's like having a new car in the garage) Again from the start of the project (sales) to the job being completed. Needed new heater. Looking for honest reputable knowledgeable and fair priced company to do the job. Called and initially spoke with Howard who advised me on types of furnaces and general pricing. Has Steve come to my house who has been in the biz for many many years and very knowledgeable. Great guy not pushy at all gave me honest answers and firm quote on what needed to be done. Techs Chad and Chris did the installation very detailed in removing old furnace and installation. I know there are many choices for HVAC. I got 5 quotes from other Air Conditioning Companies and their prices were beyond ridiculous. I just needed an A/C unit and Furnace that were comparable to what I was replacing, but the other 5 companies were trying to sell me the highest end A/C System they had. My brother had recommended Excel Air and I'm glad he did. They just installed a new furnace and A/C unit in my Clairemont home and I couldn't be more pleased with the team. Steve Sweeney, who provided the quote, was wonderful to work with. The installation team was Ryan, Tyler and Ace, and they were terrific guys as well. I did not personally know Excel Air before but during my research and reading all the different companies reviews, I decided to call and had Excel Air installed my heating/AC unit. I did not regret it. They charged a cheaper price compared to several competing companies. Installers adhered to the full extent of Covid-19 protocols (wearing face mask, observed proper distancing, wearing shoe covers, and cleaning up after themselves). After the installation, crew explained the full extent of the warranties, showed me the proper operation/instruction of the unit. The crew was very respectful. Lastly, I received a very timely response to all questions/problems that I encountered after the installation. One of the best decisions that I ever made. read more

Leo was very professional in his diagnosis of a problem with our HVAC system. He worked tirelessly to figure out the cause, which ended up being a faulty control module. He was unable to obtain an original replacement module for our furnace, which was built in 1991, because they are no longer available. He did find one that was "close," but it would not function properly because it was designed for a newer style furnace that uses additional sensors that my furnace does not have and could not be fitted with. In the end, we had Excel Air install a new furnace because so many parts for our '91 model are no longer available, and because a new unit is so much more energy efficient. read more

We recently had one of our two units stop blowing cold air. We had originally had a different company come out and quote us thousands of dollars worth of work. We were shocked. It was one of the hottest days of the year, and my air conditioning went out. I tried another air-conditioning company first, but they said they couldn't come out in about four or five days. I was glad when Excel said they could be out the next day. The technician, Leo was out right on time and ready to fix the unit. He quickly found the problem, replaced the capacitor and everything is working fine. He also checked the unit to see that it was working properly, and had the proper amount of coolant .Leo was very personal, explained the problem and let me watch him make the repairs. These guys are great. They are efficient and thorough. My house did not have existing AC and it would get to 92 degrees inside my house. After they came and installed the Daikin unit, my house is sitting pretty at 75 degrees. They are considerate of your home. They put on the little booties on their shoes as to not dirty your floors. They ask questions/permission before doing anything that would be invasive in the home. Any concerns I had they immediately addressed. I have been using Excel Air for over five years, both installation and servicing. I have been extremely pleased with their service and knowledge. CHRIS came out to service my A/C and did a thorough job, but he found a problem that he could not resolve. He contacted the office about it and then told me a senior tech would come out the next day. I called Excel air to inspect my AC at my house in Escondido , they set an appointment for today; Travis called me 30 minutes before that he was on the way in; when we met he inspected and showed me what was wrong and told me the cost which I agreed ; he also offered me a yearly service for which I also agreed to it so I don't have to worry anymore.
