We wanted to relocate our HVAC unit from a closet inside our house to the attic so that we can expand our shower in our master bath. We met with 3 HVAC vendors and Excel made the best impression on us. Excel's bid was competitive, but Jordan sold us on the job - he was informative, offered different options and answered all the questions. From project start to finish, we were blown away by the professionalism, the crews' politeness and how well this crew worked together. It was like a well oiled machine. We worked with many vendors, but Excel blew us away. You never heard the crew complain or curse once on the job! It's so rare to see a crew that were so polite to each other and just kept working even when they hit multiple snags. Our project manager, Frankie was AMAZING! Called for an appointment during the recent heat wave. The appointment was a week out, which I understand a lot of people might have been in need like me. I was told their technicians were getting appointments done head of schedule and it might be earlier than the appointment provided. Two days later I received a call that a technician could be out later today if I would like. Of course I took the earlier appointment. Tony, showed up, asked what seemed to be the problem. Listened to me. Then checked a couple of things. He was able to fix the issue quickly. He did recommend me replacing my HVAC system because of the age. No pressure sales pitch. We booked an appointment with Excel because we had a previous a/c unit installed with them just a couple of years ago. Our second a/c unit suddenly stopped working and we crossed our fingers we could get it repaired to buy a little more time before replacing it. They responded quickly with a next day appointment. The repairman was friendly however kept referring to our "dinosaur a/c unit". He determined we needed to replace the condenser because it was inoperable and would be very expensive to replace on such a old unit. He charged us a $120 service call and let us know a manager would contact us for a quote to replace the whole unit. They came back with a quote of in the $12,000 plus range. We trusted their opinion from a past purchase however decided we would get one more opinion/quote. The next day a different company came out, they agreed the unit was old however the condenser was in working order. We were told the actual problem was there was no power to the unit, we had a bad breaker. He said he had the part and fixed it immediately. He agreed the unit was old but could fix it for now. We paid him $100 for the service call and the part. It is working like a charm. I know we may only have a little time before our dinosaur finally is out for good but we WILL NOT USE EXCEL when replacing it! I will pay someone else more money if I have to as long as they are trustworthy. I am annoyed that I have to use Excel for my other unit which is under warranty because I do not trust them. read more

Excel Air came to our home mid July to remove our AC unit (so a contractor could come in and do repairs from a leak we had). Long story short, lots of problems with the other companies we had to work with. Our contractor sub-contracted a company to repair and re-install the AC. They did a horrible job. When they were done, they told me not to use the AC as it still was not working well. Never hear from them again. I called Excel and they came out right away. Jason sent in a quote to the insurance that day. As soon as it was approved, he and his team were on it to get us back up and running. Juan showed up with another Excel employee and they spent 8.5 hours here going through everything to do with the AC with a fine-tooth comb. Juan would show me things he found. It turns out that the sub-contractors re-installed the AC until wrong and using a lot of things that were not up to code. The previous company used parts that didn't fit and taped them together. I don't understand the workings of AC, but Juan let us know that we were lucky not to turn it on. If we had, and we had gone into the garage, we could have died!! So Juan, and Excel Air saved our lives. Literally! They all deserve medals! This group is incredible. Jason, the manager, is professional and responsive to calls. Juan is one of the most incredible workman we have ever had at our home. Cannot thank this group enough! We will be using them for all our HVAC needs. read more

I don't understand these people. I need a complete set up - entire HVAC system with duct work. I was an easy sell because I already know I needed these things. I know it's going to be expensive. The guys came out to inspect everything and did an outstanding job! That's what the 2 stars are for. They were going to send me a quote. I needed to get some work done before installation but it had been a long while and I got no quote. So I called the company. The lady I talked to said they would get me one. That's been a few weeks ago. Still no quote. Today I signed a 10K contract with another company who was VERY knowledgeable, thorough and respectful of my time. If Excel didn't want my business, why did they bother coming out???? If they didn't want my business - just say so and I will move on. read more

As a tenant, I am at the mercy of my landlord and luckily Excelair took great care of the AC in my home. Robby Miller was great.. friendly, knowledgable and did the work quickly. Very disappointed with this company. I've never posted a review and honestly, i never thought my first review would be a bad review, however I feel everyone should be aware of the situation ... for they're own safety. In April 2016 I decided to add an AC system to my house do to the extreme hot weather that we were expecting. They installed the AC right away, and in May I started using it. At the end of June I went on vacation only to be notified by my maid of the horrible disaster she walked in to, literally, a day after I left. (See images) I was shocked when I saw the video, to say the least. Mostly I was thankful that we weren't there, since this happened in my son's bedroom. A few things that were damaged: Mattress, $1,200 Laptop, $400 Desk, chair, carpet, covers, sheets, clothes, etc etc. Plus, you can imagine the inconvenience of not having that room available for 2 months. I've been asking to settle this for a certain amount, and what they're offering is no where close to covering my expenses and inconvenience! This was a job that was not done right the first time, and unfortunately I paid the consequences of their unprofessionalism, that could've, it didn't, but could've, caused some bad bodily damage. Above and beyond 5 stars! Excel Services has been servicing our HVAC system for years but recently we were in need of a multi-unit mini-split system so we reach out to them for a quote. Josh, the salesman was great! He took time to figure out what we needed for our mini-split system. They quoted a reasonable price, and the technicians, Frankie, Keith and Jose (I hope I got their names correct) were amazing! They kept the project areas clean, even wore shoe booties, they were all very respectful, and knowledgeable. This is such a great company who gives wonderful service. The technician came on Monday morning and we determined that our 41 year old air con was not repairable. Steve, the salesman, worked us into his schedule that afternoon and thoroughly explained our options, we signed the paperwork and the whole system was installed on Wednesday. Not only did he quote me a better, more efficient heat pump for a lower cost than competitor companies, but he was able to add a new water heater as well. And I'm so glad I went with Excel Services. Their work has been excellent from start to finish. Their installation team is very knowledgeable, efficient, and they took care of every detail in such a caring way. My installation took a little longer time with more effort on their part because of the small space the air handler was installed in. Chuck Leonard came to inspect our HVAC system on 8/6/21. We had, had some problems with some of the rooms not cooling as well as others, and also had questions about some debris coming from one of the vents. He was extremely thorough and checked every area that we had questions on. His inspection of our property and all areas of our system were outstanding and once he was done our system was in perfect working order, he also was meticulous in making sure everything was clean and in perfect working order. The service from technician was great. They were available as promised and work was quick. He filled R-22 within the hour. However, their cost is higher for R-22 per pound ($282) than what is mentioned in this article dated July 2021: https://www.angi.com/articles/what-fair-price-r-22-refrigerant.htm#:~:text=The%20cost%20of%20R%2D22,%24150%20per%20pound%20for%20installation. Their $49 for $85 deal is misleading and could be improved because it took a bit of explanation to clarify why the deal wasn't applied. I was a bit disappointed with the service level at the office desk. Either they need to remove the coupon deal or update it. It's false advertising and I went for them originally because of the coupon but found out during payment that it didn't apply. I would call around to compare prices first before going with them. If you do go with them, ask for a price sheet to fill R22. read more

Our AC stopped blowing out cold air on a Friday night so we called Excel and luckily they came out the very next day-last minute, which is what justifies the 1 star. The technician replaced the air filter, "checked" the compressor, recommended a compressor pad and $85 later , was on his way . We received a quote for the pad several days later and decide we'd sit on it since it was more than we expected. The very next day, 5 days after Excel came out initially, our AC stops working again. I contacted Excel, they apologized , said they're going to take $100 off the quote and will speak with the technician about the continuing issues . A rep from Excel called my husband , gave an even lower quote but before hanging up , the rep said that Roxanna, the office manager, said the new quote that was given was in fact , too low and they will call us back with the actual quote . Which they never did . In desperation , my husband went out to look at the condenser and noticed that the capacitor had blown and contacted Excel again. Spoke with Roxanna, gave her this info and she said that she would contact us in 15 minutes which again , she never did . Now, I get that Excel is probably slammed with customers with the recent heat wave, but to charge us $85 and to not completely diagnose and fix a problem is unacceptable. We are not looking for a temporary fix , we wanted a resolution. We do not recommend Excel as their staff has failed to follow through on so many levels. Luckily , we found a wonderful company. Their tech found that the circuit board is fried , capacitor , relay and booster needs to be changed out. All this was tested out in front of us and he explained exactly what it was that he would be replacing. These are all things that we expected at the very least from Excel . Further , we were told that if Excel had followed through initially , we could've avoided the fried circuit board and a few of the other issues . Excel left us in a very precarious position when needed their services the most . We are glad we found another company that followed through . read more

Our A/C system is pretty old, and I'm always worried they'll tell me a I need a replacement, but so far they've been able to keep it going strong. After meeting with eight different companies, my husband and I decided to hire Excel Air. We were impressed with how Alex was able to explain the information to us on the system that we ultimately chose and answered all of our questions, and he was very responsive. We had a larger system in the house and a smaller garage unit installed and had to redo duct work, so in all, our installation took four days with 2-4 guys onsite each day. Unfortunately, some personal items were broken in our garage that were on an adjacent shelf during installation, but overall, everything went great. We are happy with the system and the choice to partner with Excel Air, so much so that we recommended them to our neighbor's and they just got their new AC installed this week! read more

I was concerned about the proficiency of my AC unit since my baby's room was not cooling down (does not help that it faces the sun in the afternoon). Steven was great! With Covid-19, he wore gloves and a mask, while assessing our unit. He gave us recommendations and explained in detail what we could do to make it run more efficiently. He came back a second time (on time) to do the annual maintenance that was long overdue. Steven also recommended to install a return plenum. Robby and Mason did this work and also were friendly and proficient. Everyone that I have spoken to in this company are courteous and helpful (props to Kelli in the office!). read more
