I was concerned about the proficiency of my AC unit since my baby's room was not cooling down (does not help that it faces the sun in the afternoon). Steven was great! With Covid-19, he wore gloves and a mask, while assessing our unit. He gave us recommendations and explained in detail what we could do to make it run more efficiently. He came back a second time (on time) to do the annual maintenance that was long overdue. Steven also recommended to install a return plenum. We have had Excel Air for a few years now at our first home and they were great. In March we purchased a new home and never had ac coming out of the register in the kitchen ceiling. Travis came out and took his time in our attic, which must have been over 100 degrees, and said we needed to have the install techs. come in and tear out a part of the kitchen ceiling, mind you we just completed a new kitchen a week prior....long story as to why we didn't do it during construction. We agreed to get the work done as no ac in the kitchen was awful and we knew in the cooler months it meant no heat. Mason and Jose came out and did a great job of covering our new countertops and making sure they put up plastic to contain everything in the kitchen. I can't tell you how great Mason and Jose were. They told us what the scope of the work would be, they took photos of what was in the ceiling,and found the original duct had been crushed by 2x4's maybe by our contractor but who knows. Mason and Jose were on time, very knowledgeable, and did the work perfectly and cleaned up the kitchen nicely. Best of all we have a/c in our kitchen for the first time. I just wanted to let you know I am very unhappy with the service we "received" or lack there of. I noticed I accidentally gave you the wrong number address it's 4137 (not 4237) That was my fault. Michael Lam called at 9:30, I was in the shower. I returned his call letting him know we are home and we'll be/have been waiting for his arrival. That's when he told me he already left. I said nobody came to our door. He told me where he went n said the people stated I didn't live there. That's because I don't live there. I live at 4137. He showed up early regardless. And he decided to leave for San Diego during our time frame. That would have been a good time to call the customer and verify, don't you think? Not just cancel our appointment without saying anything. I also asked if he could come back anytime today. His response was, ma'am, I'm not driving back there. I tried to reschedule with him, but he would be out of town next weekend or he won't be in the area the times I'll be home. He wasn't willing to work with me. I asked if we could do it during the week around 3-3:30. He wouldn't. Very poor customer service. I asked if there is someone else that could help us, he said he's basically it. Excel Air did a great job installing my furnace. When it was being installed a little bit of the ceiling in the attic access panel got damaged. They sent out a dry wall technician who spent 2 hours doing a fantastic repair ! I highly recommend their company. read more

Ok here is an updated review..they deserve it :) The heater/ac we have stopped working again. We called our manager and he had the maintenance guy come up. He fiddled with some switches and stuff and it came on for an hour and then turned off again with some codes on the device. We told our manager and he had Excel come back out, Richard Wood showed up and we were very glad to see him. He put it in the first time so we knew he would know what to do. Apparently the reason it stopped working is because of a few buttons I pushed not knowing what I was doing. I was very glad he did not get mad at me and he was very nice about it and he went to the roof in the heat to make sure everything was still working and it was. He came downstairs and made sure it was all working correctly and explained a few things about it that we did not know. HE was very knowledgeable and friendly and did not even get mad at me for pushing buttons. He even let us know it was the computer part of the heater/ac that was messing up. He got it working and he was only here for half an hour ..maybe 45 minutes..THANK YOU AGAIN RICHARD for coming and fixing it again with a SMILE and laugh :) and I mean laugh in a good way :) we appreciate it..TY EXCEL for having such a fantastic employee working for you :) read more

I recently had my Air Conditioner quit working so I called Excel Air Corp to repair the unit. They were very busy ( it was when it first got hot), but they got me in on Saturday morning (1 day later). There repairman, Travis, came right on time and found that the compressor was bad. The unit was only 6 years old and he said it should be covered under warranty, that he would call Maytag and see if he could get a replacement. They are not a Maytag dealer, so they were having problems getting information form Maytag. The General manager (Howard Moxley) called me back and said that I might be better off going to an authorized dealer. He even found the dealer for me and checked the model number to verify that the unit was still under warranty. He said if I had any problems they could do the job, but since it was under warranty, it might be quicker and cheaper to deal with an authorized dealer. I hired Excel Air to install an Ecobee thermostat after contacting Home Advisor. Excel contacted me within 5 mins and had a technician, Robbie Miller, at my house in short time. The thermostat was replaced. Unfortunately, it failed because of previous wiring problems which caused the original thermostat not to function. Of course this new failure happened on a Friday evening on a warm day when I had guests at my home. I contacted the after-hours calling service. Robbie called me back on Saturday morning on his day off and agreed to come back to my home. He found the wiring problem but was not able to get the part until Monday. Bottom line: Excel Air was responsive, backed up their work and were honest with me. Robbie did an excellent job and came through, even on his day off. Nice work! read more
