This summer we noticed that every time the A/C came on, people sneezed. Finally we figured out that…read morethere was dust in the ducts (duh!), and looked around for a highly-rated duct cleaning service. When I contacted them for an appointment, I discovered that it is the same company as Chim Chiminey Sweep, who cleaned our chimney last year and did a great job. So we figured we couldn't go wrong by hiring them to clean our ducts and vents. They came today and did the cleaning. They arrived exactly when they said they would. They were utterly professional. I can't easily look inside the ducts to see how clean they are, but I watched them work and I'm sure it all got very clean. They brought a big red machine labeled "Rotobrush"; it looked like a combination vacuum cleaner and spinning brush. The brush loosened the dirt and the machine sucked it all in, so that none of it came out into the air or the room. They worked efficiently and finished when they predicted that they would. They reported that one of our 16 ducts was damaged and suggested that we call a heating/cooling company to have it repaired. The final invoice was for exactly the estimated amount. I couldn't be happier. I asked them how often we should do this cleaning, and they said "about every 5 years". We have lived in this house for 3 years, but I suspect that the ducts hadn't been cleaned for 20 years. No more sneezing here.

We ended up doing both to allow maximum efficiency and are not disappointed at all. February he completed our solar... From install to SDGE's final approval was one week. (I have friends that waited weeks/months for the final approval with other large named companies). Every month I have generated enough power to exceed our needs. I instead opted to call someone local to me (Escondido) instead of someone having to drive from 20 miles out. I called Monday morning, was booked for that same afternoon as our AC decided not to work at 1am. Surprisingly, Jim arrived just before 12pm as he was already in the area. I very much welcomed the early arrival as the heat was starting to escalate. It took Jim literally 3 minutes to diagnose the problem of our AC, a burnt relay contact (I wrongly predicted a faulty capacitor). This is how you know you are dealing with an experienced professional when he brings out only the necessary tools and leaves the work site clean. Jim was in and out in about 35 minutes (should have been less than 30 if I hadn't asked questions). As they say in the industry, there are no second chances for first impressions, Because of this, I'll give them my business for AC maintenance moving forward due to my great experience, promptly saving me and family from roasting in an above average SoCal summer. Cost (part + labor) was very fair and no hidden or surprise charges. More blessing to you Jim and your crew.

Now, living in San Diego, this really isn't an issue but every now and then Escondido has extremely cold nights. I decided to have the unit inspected looking for advice on repairs. Listening to KSON, they recommended Mauzzy ( spelling???) heating and air so I called them for a $99 inspection. Long story short, the guy said my unit was too old and he recommended replacing the entire unit for $16-20k. I said nope and he left. I was at my favorite coffee shop telling a friend about this when another gentleman overheard me. He recommended Jim to me. Jim comes out, runs a few test & in less than 10 minutes finds the issue. He had to order the part so I had to wait a few weeks ( no big deal ). He gets the part in, schedules a convenient time for me to install the part costing me a total of $220. I cannot recommend Jim enough, he is truly honest, reliable, & dependable. Imagine being told you needed $16k replacement when all you needed was $200 part.... I can't recommend him enough. I've already told all my neighbors about him.
