I highly recommend Yota Moving. In fact, I don't understand the low rating on Yelp because I had nothing but first class service. My husband and I recently moved out of a 3-bedroom two-story townhome into a single story house. We decided to use Yota based on pricing, availability and customer service when booking. The guy booking us had a cat, which is what officially sold me. Cornelius, Demetri and Alex showed up on time and got straight to work. All safety protocols were followed with covid and Demetri and Alex took the time to pad all of our furniture while Cornelius started loading boxes. They worked efficiently, were friendly and funny, thoughtful and careful with our belongings and were in and out in 6 hours which included driving 40-miles to our new place. We are all set up in the house now and can attest that there was no damage to any of the furniture or belongings in the boxes. I would recommend them for your next move, please tip generously and add that things go smoothly and fast when the homeowner is prepared, packed and ready to move. BE AWARE of your choice!! The crew was here late, with broken truck, not available to provide service! YOTA moving cannot provide the service they promised. Per our contract, it supposed to be a 3 men crew arriving at 8-9am. Instead only two men and a broken truck showed up. The crew started fixing the truck for one and a half h still NOT WORKING. We made several calls and the business owner cannot find a replacement crew for the service. INSTEAD, they charged me for a three man crew for 3 hr service right after the call. During the call, all of a sudden the owner said they're recording the calls and didn't get my permission nor reminding me when the calls started. It's the feeling of being threatened during the calls so I keep my word to leave a review on Yelp. read more

Meh. I was sucked in by the friendly front-end customer service and low quotes, but I wouldn't use these guys again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. In my opinion -- as others have noted here -- they were relatively slow and unprofessional. I ended up spending WAY more than expected due to the amount of time it took. At one point during the move I tried to reach out to their main office about their performance and couldnt get ahold of anyone, so I left a voice mail. Nobody ever answered the phone or called me back. Also, I found a chipped pieces of my table in the outside hallway on the ground, so I took a picture. Later I came back and the piece was gone. I went down to the moving truck and the piece was sitting on top of a different table. One of the movers said, "Oh that was just there on the table." Really? It broke itself off, landed outside on the ground in the hallway, let me take a picture of it, and then when my back was turned it floated downstairs onto that table? That's amazing! It truly is a magical table. I didn't tell them I had seen and taken photos of the piece on the ground already. Later another mover told me he had just "found" the piece on the floor inside my home. Ugh. You get the idea... I know it's a tough job, but working with them made it feel even tougher. At the end of the day, they had actually left one of their hand trucks at my old residence. I went through the trouble of going back to the residence and putting it outside for them. Not so much as a thank you. I would take a hard pass on these guys moving forward. read more

Absolute horrible experience. I feel duped with the positive ratings in Yelp only to find out they have over 20 negative reviews that were hidden. First and foremost, Maddie who did my remote evaluation gave me an ok to 09/03-09/04 move. We cleared our busy schedule and took time off work. A few days before the 09/03 move and I haven't heard back, I kept calling the company who responded after many hours of being put on hold, to tell me that Maddie "lost" the on site video, and not only don't they have a quote, they also can't do the 09/03 move anymore. The move got rescheduled a day late and 09/04 the estimate arrival was 2pm-6pm. The movers didn't arrive until 8 pm to START to pack. Who starts packing late at night? Then on 09/05 they quoted us 8-9 hours for the move starting 8 am ending at 5ish pm. Well they arrived at 9 am, and didn't finish until 3 AM! Yup we were awake until the middle of the night unloading items in a nice neighborhood of Carlsbad with extremely quiet neighbors. It was HORRIBLE experience and the original quote of $2500 was DOUBLED because of the time it took them! One of the movers arrived to pack on 09/04 WITHOUT any boxes and had to go Home Depot to buy them and we are being charged for that time, including the multiple times they took many breaks, with some instances we caught the moving guys on their phone. Absolutely horrendous experience. The movers speak very little English, support line doesn't answer calls. Don't use this moving company. Very unprofessional. You will regret it. read more

I have never been more disappointed or disgusted in the service received by a business. The move was scheduled for an 8 to 9AM start time but Diego and Alex did not arrive until ~10:30AM. This was problematic as my girlfriend and I were both scheduled to start work at 1PM. We asked them if they could complete the move if we reduced the number of items, and they provided confirmation. The rest of the morning was a nightmare as they were continuously on their phones and moved extremely slow. The furniture was poorly wrapped and ultimately resulted in a number of items either being dirtied or damaged. Even though we reduced the number of items they needed to move, it still took them over 3 hours to complete their move because they were lackadaisical. Too add insult to injury, they charged us a late fee and pushed through the payment when we told them that there should not be a late fee. They told us that we would have to speak directly to their manager if we had any issues with the late fee they charged because they took too long. Most businesses would correct this issue easily but Yota Moving is an exception. I have been trying to reach them for nearly two weeks now and they screen my calls on a daily basis. Cornelius has hung up on me multiple times and is exceptionally rude. The managers have been impossible to reach and I have been told they will either call me back or that they are out of the office. I do not recommend anyone book these crooks. They will damage your furniture and condone their workers stealing money. There has been no business in existence where the managers have refused to contact a concerned customer for two weeks. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau about formally submitting a claim. read more

Please dont ever consider these guys. they are not professional and reliable. I did move with these guys during early January, They did came on time but took an unusual 6.5 hrs for moving distance of 5 miles. I had packed all the items and kept all furnitures disassembled except one table. It could have been easily done in 3-4 hrs but took extra 2 hours even with 3 movers. This bloated the charge soo much! on top of this, They also made few damages to floor and a dining table. Attached is one image instance. I have contacted them and still not able to find a resolution on this. Yota has hotline for claims but no one respond. I have been requesting the status promptly but never got any resolution. i have moved couple of times and never had any unpleasant experience as this! They are expensive, purposefully delay the moving time and charge extra and also not responding to claims on time! read more

They worked hard, efficiently and consistently. The communication from the office was smooth and made things easy. Because our house was still under some construction the team wasn't able to put things directly into rooms but they were very adaptable based on the reality of the situation. Excellent experience. My wife and I used Yota moving for a relocation from San Diego to the SF Bay Area. They communicated before, gave a straightforward price, and were easy to reach during the pack-up, on the day of move-in, and afterward. It was so simple that I made multiple calls to make sure I'd gotten everything prepared! Matt was very reassuring -- "Don't worry, you're all set!" They showed up on time, were very professional and speedy with the move. On the day of the move in, they hit unexpected and unavoidable traffic and communicated early. The EXTRA MILE -- Yota moving also packed up some chairs that we didn't have boxes for, unpacked and wrapped a painting easel, and altogether treated our objects as their own. I would STRONGLY recommend Yota moving to anyone going to / from San Diego. We will be sure to contact them when we move again. I was able to book them on short notice as I was coming from 2 hours away. The last movers I had packed the truck in a terrible way, but they were able to get everything unloaded in exactly 3 hours on the 3rd floor. They followed all of my directions and when I made mistakes on what certain wrapped items were, they didn't hesitate to move it again. I don't plan on moving for a while, but if you want a professional moving company who will follow your directions and not do as they please, I highly recommend them! This was the best move in day experience I've ever had. Firstly, Mansur and Nursultan were so communicative the entire time! They called me with ample time to get ready and called me again when they were at my door. They were also able to find my very confusing apartment without me having to go downstairs and direct them - this saved so much time. Secondly they were able to move my studio apartment in under 2 hours, which was amazing as I had to go back to work. They didn't damage any of my items and even wrapped them and packaged many of my belongings for me. So much care was taken throughout this job and I cannot say how grateful I am. Beware , super shady company . They came home and gave me an estimate for moving and I was promised that the rate would not change and that I would be charged the max of 9 hours no matter what . Upon finishing the job they charged my credit card for a service of 13 hours without my knowledge or my consent . They just charge whatever they like without letting you know or even talking to you . I tried to call them to fix the issue but unfortunately they did not answer , call back or get back to me for the multiple messages I left . Alex is one of the owners who game me the original quote completely ignored me and never cared to call me back to at least get to the bottom of this issue . To whom it may concern(YOTA MOVING), Let me start by saying that I was told the movers would be getting to the address I provided them between 8:00 and 9:00am, however they got there at around 9:20am. Not the best start to this ordeal, but I let it slide as I was stressed enough about the move as it is. I made sure to ask multiple times if they do french style door fridges prior to hiring them, and I was reassured multiple times by 3 different employees from YOTA Moving that they do (yes, I do have the "receipts" text messages to prove it). Then finally once the movers get there they tell me "we don't do fridges", so imagine my frustration after they get there late with no apology whatsoever and the main reason I decided to hire this moving company. I obviously asked the movers "what's gonna happen now? My french style fridge is the main reason why I hired the company you work for." he went on to tell me however he could that they would remove the doors and if anything went sideways when putting the fridge back together or if it didn't work properly that YOTA Moving would hire a "technician" to fix it. I said okay let's get it done and while I was trying to reach someone from YOTA Moving's office (by the way, nobody picked up the phone), the movers were watching YouTube videos on how to remove the doors from a french style fridge; and so after 40 minutes of watching YouTube videos (which I was charged for) they proceeded to remove the doors. Finally after all that we arrived at my new place someone from YOTA Moving called me, and so I told the person I was speaking with what the movers had told me before taking my fridge apart (about worst comes to happen and YOTA Moving would pay for a technician to fix my fridge). To that I was told that they never agreed to that, that they were unaware of this and to check in with them (YOTA moving) once the movers were done. So worst did come to happen and the bottom part of my french style fridge (the freezer) does NOT open at all, it's stuck BUT not only did they broke the freezer door of my fridge they were so careless that when they were moving stuff into the rooms they damaged the walls, I'm talking about holes, dents, and scrapes. Keep in mind that the frames and doors to the rooms had not been installed yet, just so it would be easier for the movers to move stuff around, what a help that was... I did what I was told and I called them to "check in" after the movers were done but they NEVER answered ANY of my calls. I have called them so many times throughout the week but it seems that they either have me blocked or they just make sure not to take any of my calls, of course this is not a real company and is just based out of somebody's basement. Oh and to make matters EVEN WORSE (if you could believe it couldn't get any worse than that)! Let me tell you that there is a hidden fee called "GRATUITY FEE", which I was never informed of. I was even given a breakdown of the TOTAL cost (screenshots included) and they never mentioned such "GRATUITY FEE". Find a different moving company, run and NEVER look back! Don't even think about hiring this moving company, let my experience be good for ONE thing and for that to be that this is an UNETHICAL moving company and you SHOULD NEVER consider for your "moving needs". read more

First, let me run down what I was looking for in a moving company. Most have a three hour minimum. Yota only had a two hour minimum, which was great because I just wanted a sectional couch, coffee table, and a small dining table with four chairs moved from one place in the Rancho Bernardo area to another in Escondido, along with moving my old couch and love seat once in Escondido down to the dumpster for the city to pick up. Easily should be done in under two hours, so why pay for three like the other companies only offered? $99 per hour, plus $49 and change for the truck, so I got a solid quote for just shy of $250. The office followed up with an emailed quote and were friendly and helpful. Perfect. I ended up adding more to this order. I added an armoire and two mattresses and box spring. Escondido offers city pick up of furniture, where the city of San Diego doesn't, so I needed the mattresses and box spring moved with the other items so I could have those put along with the sofa and love seat in Escondido to be picked up by the city. So, they ended up loading the sectional, coffee table, dining room table, four chairs, armoire, two mattresses, and a box spring in the truck and moved those from Rancho Bernardo to Escondido, and hauled all but the mattresses and box spring up to the new place. They took the old couch and love seat down to the complex dumpster and then added the mattresses and box spring from the truck to the dumpster, as well. Perfect. The movers were Cornelius and Christopher. So happens that of all days to rain, it rained on this particular day. They laid down one of those insulated, thick moving blankets on the floor by the door and wiped their feet before entering each time, which was great. They wrapped everything up in plastic or moving blankets and were careful not to ding any walls while moving. They did all that we requested with moving this furniture. When moving the stuff into the new place, they were aware enough to see that they would have taken out the light outside the door, so they removed the glass covering of the light so they wouldn't damage it, then of course put it back on when done. Everything was done smoothly and quickly and cleanly. With all of this, the move ended up taking 2.5 hours, so I figured I would get charged for a full third hour, but I was only charged an additional $49 and some change, but was told it was for double drive time, which I don't know what that meant, but considering it went .5 hours over the quoted price, I was totally good with that. The total move came just shy of $300. When getting a quote, ask what double drive time is and make sure you get your quote in writing since I don't know that if I hadn't gone over the two hours, if they would have tacked that on. Since I did go over the quoted price for the expected time, it worked out with what I had done and the time it took. So, all in all, the pricing and two hour minimum was great. Another company would probably cost $50-$100+ more. Cornelius and Christopher were great - quick, careful, respectful of our items, thoughtful with it raining, aware, and knew what they were doing. I definitely recommend Yota and if you can get Cornelius and Christopher as your guys, you will be very happy and in good hands. Thanks, guys! read more

First I want to say that the movers were great. 4 guys came and had the job done quickly and were very kind and professional and careful. My issue is with the customer service. I purchased a deal off of groupon which indicated that i had 4 people for 2 hrs for $189. There was no mention of any additional fees. I called and scheduled my move and again, no mention of any additional fees but there was a deposit. I assumed just for scheduling i did not ask any other questions and no other answers were provided to me. I then received a moving proposal which stated that I had 4 people for $189 for 2 hrs and that additional time would be prorated to the 15 minutes... fine. When they finished (in under 2 hrs) and I was closing out, they then informed me that I was to be charged an additional $189 because they had a 3 hr min. (not ever explained to me) and that my deposit was non refundable. They wound up charging me an additional $239 and snuck it into the fine print of the closing paperwork. It wasn't the guy's fault, he's just there to collect the money so THEN when I attempted to call the company to dispute the charge the BLOCKED MY NUMBER and I had to call from someone else's phone to get a hold of someone finally. In the end...no refund and I have to reverse the charges. I also seriously undertipped the guys since I did not have the true cost of the move. read more

I ended up getting a buddy to help me move in the end, but these guys called me back right away and were super professional- their response time from my voicemail was very quick, and I was in a pickle and needed a mover TODAY- nobody else had availability, Yota did... the rep that called me was very amicable and professional, asked all the right questions, and emailed me a quote in a heartbeat. Far more professional than the 10 other places I called. I work as well in a customer-service based business and can tell when someone actually cares about what they do for a living. Great experience had a little issue with movers needing Covid shot proof. One had the proof and other didn't but wouldn't take the on-site test so he had to stay outside the building. I had mentioned to the person taking my request/order to note movers would require Covid shot proof or recent test in the senior living facility. Apparently that wasn't shared with movers who came to the site. But that being said it took longer for small Apartment because we had one person loading inside and 2 loading the truck. But the gentlemen we worked were the best and work hard with the conditions/requirements at the senior living center. Once they got to the destination point there was no Covid restrictions it moved quickly loading my mom belongings into a POD at my home. Was left high and dry by a competing moving company on a Sunday. Finding myself in this predicament, I reached out to Yota. They responded immediately on a Sunday morning and scheduled me for a move on Monday. They communicated efficiently and politely, showed up on time, completed the job expeditiously and accommodated to our particular requests (move from townhouse into a garage of a home under remodel). No issues, no fuss. They also have a convenient payment system online. They do a double-time charge for driving and they do round-up to the hour for their pricing. So, beware that the estimate is not what you'll pay at the end (plus tip). But, still a worthwhile investment in my estimation if you want your stuff moved on time and professionally. read more
