If like like supporting a shop that rips off older people and women by all means go here. My mom (late 60s) took her classic toyota cruiser here for a transmission and transfer case rebuild. They charged her a small fortune. It had to come back for a few times to be "fixed". She ended up having to pay another shop to do the work Evolution had claimed to do but actually didn't even open up the transfer case (confirmed by the next shop manager hat actually DID rebuild it) and the work was done on the trans was faulty. Evolution (or Transfix ) the old name, has been given many chances to fix this but refused. DO NOT GO HERE I wish i could rate lower that one star. You guys should be ashamed. Ripping off the elderly. I do hope carma find you sooner than later. read more

First fix of transfer case failed 17 miles out of town. Second fix of transfer case, $1600 repair, leaked continually and would not stay in 4W since 2019. Due to pandemic I couldn't return to Bend for the ?third repair. They will not honor warranty or offer some percent of refund despite pandemic hiatus and fact that I haven't been able to drive it 200 miles to a town I no longer live at, no ownership of a negligent repair twice attempted. My truck is now inoperable, spews oil out the bottom gasket and is parked in the driveway awaiting a real fix from ... somewhere else. read more

Above and Beyond - Upon the recommendation/referral that the crew at TransFix are they ones you want to do business with, I moved ahead with a transmission rebuild with them in May 2016 after receiving a few other comparable bids. Work was completed in a timely fashion and my rig which had 230k miles on it at the time was back up and running. Fast forward to spring break 2017. I'm on a trip in Santa Cruz with the family and my transmission locks itself in second gear. The 2 or 3-year warranty (24000 miles) was 800 miles past its warranty period from the work completed last May and thus I could not receive service from within the warranty network. Good things for friends with trailers who don't mind giving up 2 days of their life for a quick turn and burn down to Santa Cruz out of Central Oregon. Brought the truck back into TransFix who acknowledged that something like this should never have happened. They opened up the tranny and found a compression spring had somehow tweaked and took me down for the count. Darwin, Keith, and Mike stood behind their work and made it right, getting me back on the road. Can't say enough about local businesses who stand behind their work and make it right with their customers. If I could give more than 5-Stars, I certainly would. Great job guys!!! read more

I was told by the "oil change guys" that my car was due for transmission service. A friend recommended Trans-Fix. I called an made an appointment. It's in an odd location, near the BendBroadband office off Empire Ave. But the guy on the phone gave me good directions and I found the shop easily. While they worked on my car I returned to work, and they called to let me know when it was ready. Everything went smoothly! The owner of Trans-Fix is a hoot. Absolutely fantastic shop! I take my 2004.5 Volvo S40 here all the time and Darwin is the Volvo MASTER! I have had nothing but amazing experiences every time I have had my car in the shop. Prices are dirt cheap compared to other shops, work is completed quickly and thoroughly, and their customer service is ace. We took our new (used) truck in to have the transmission service, which states on their website, "During a typical transmission service we; remove the transmission pan, change the filter or screen, check all band adjustments and solenoid connections, scan the computer for fault codes and perform a diagnostic road test, check the shift function of all gears and torque converter lockup. In addition we perform a thorough 57 point vehicle inspection." We told them it is hesitating to go into drive. They put it on diagnostic, but nothing came up. They test drove it and claim it dropped out of gear at stop light..... they charged me more than the quoted price of $84 ($91) and never dropped the pan and changed fluid and filter....etc. Never did ANYTHING really, except probably slamming it into drive on the test drive, then told me the tranny fluid smells burnt and I need a new (remanufactured) one for $3600! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I thought they were going to be honest and integrity mattered....NOT. We just got back from a trip to Washington to see my sister, and the truck runs great....even through the mountain passes! Me thinks not, TransFix!! read more

Love these guys! My husband and I bought our own parts to change out the brakes and rotors on our motorhome and despite being brought in, they still changed them out, no problem! Both guys we talked to were very knowledgeable, friendly and understanding when it came to our situation which made us very happy with our choice of shop. A sweet cherry on top was after having to order a couple of extra parts they charged only charged us a hundred dollars flat. So honestly, we have to agree this is the best shop we've been through in years and wished we lived in the area to get all of our future work done at this great shop with even better mechanics! read more

While the people seem friendly and try to help, they had my car for 3 1/2 weeks before I got it back. I called and dropped in on several occasions to check on it I was told this and that, but in the end my problem was never fixed and it costs me a few hundred bucks. I kind of wondered if anything was even replaced. Maybe this was a good thing but I mentioned my budget for fixing my problem and it just so happens that my bill was exactly that. read more

I am hoping this place is really under new ownership as of 2014. Shame on Dennis if he's still the owner. Sold me on re-building the transmission for $2,000. It lasted a whopping 3,000 miles and now is back in 1st gear only where it started. When I returned to get it checked, they said they were under new ownership and wouldn't warranty the work but did offer me another rebuild at $1000 after I threatened a lawsuit. So, if you happen to know this place is really under new ownership I guess maybe things have changed. If you happen to know they aren't under new ownership, let me know. My transmission went out all of a sudden - out of no where - with no warning. I have never dealt with a transmission issue ever before. I am a smart single woman, did a little research and found Trans-Fix and Dennis, the owner. Thank God!!! I will never take my car anywhere else for any care service again. (they do everything - not just transmission repair). After a few days, when a part still hadn't come, Dennis DROVE to Portland to get the part on a Saturday (his day off) and did not charge me for it. They even gave me a ride back to work when I had to have it towed there and picked me up at the car rental place when I returned my rental car after it was done being repaired. BAD Experience. Owner installed a defective rebuilt transmission into my truck. Knowing that there was a problem he nonetheless released the truck to me after a charging me $3,000. In less than a year I had to have the transmission he installed rebuilt (elsewhere) due to defective overdrive clutch assembly to the tune of another $2,000. Although under warranty he refused to honor the warranty. I originally went to this shop due to positive reviews but sorely regret this decision. Transfix Auto was Great. I had a whistling noise coming from my engine while driving through bend and stopped to make sure if it was something I needed to get fixed before the long drive home, they fit me in quickly and checked it out. Darwin was honest, helpful and entertaining. When he looked at my car to find the problem, he figured it out quickly. It was something my home dealership mechanic had said I would need to get fixed a while ago, so I knew he was right on the diagnoses. What I didn't expect was the advice that it I could wait on it and that it was more of an annoyance than a "needs to be fixed soon" like my mechanic said. He also told me that they were trying to sell me on a bigger expensive fix than was needed, and then told me what really needed to be done. Darwin, The owner spent 30 minutes looking at my car and talking to me, even though the shop was slammed, and didn't charge me! I got home and changed mechanics, got the way cheaper fix and everything is perfect! Wished I lived in Bend just to have such an honest mechanic. read more
