Once our car was towed to the shop, they were thorough and figured out the problem right away. We sat in the lobby with our dogs while we waited. My car broke down today after work with my 5 year old with me on our way to pick up my other daughter from school. Mike pulled over to check on me (as did two others) and Mike, along with another gentleman? got me up and moving when I thought I was gonna need to call AAA. We followed him instead to his shop. From the minute we pulled up to we left he and his staff were kind, upfront, and Mike even shared his dogs with my daughter to help turn her day around. I told him he was a blessing on the road today, the owner of a mechanic shop right there to help me! Thank you so much for getting my car fixed so quickly after I dropped it off last night before close and you still got it done this afternoon while other places wouldn't be able to do it for a couple weeks you did above and beyond a great job and thank you for your report of finding the oil dipstick dropped, which was caused by Kendall Toyota of Bend during their oil change, since I have never checked the oil myself. I'm still waiting for their response to see if they will do the right thing and pay me Back, which is what they have insurance for. I had my window regulator fixed here about a year and a half ago. Recently it broke again. I came in to talk about it nicely and was told it only had a 1 year warranty. I asked about other options and told Mike that i thought this was supposed to be a permanent fix. All he had to say was "life's not permanent." He told me he wanted to charge $700 but I looked up the part to be $100.. read more

Hopefully I will have a good experience with Bend Auto Care. I'm a little discouraged to see that BAC has 2 negative reviews out of 3 here on yelp. I researched several shops before choosing Bend Auto Care. After speaking with the owner Mike, I felt like he was sincere on the phone, and that he would be capable of doing a good job repairing our Vehicle. Our car is with BAC right now, and there has been a bit of a blip (that concerns me some) which is causing the job to take longer than I was quoted. Our repair is a big job, and it isn't going to be cheep. It made sense to me to spend some time doing research before deciding what shop to use. BAC wasn't the cheapest, or the most expensive... but Mike came across as experienced and knowledgeable, plus they offer an excellent warranty on parts and labor, so I decided to go that route. The only surprise so far is that I wasn't told that there would be a 3 day credit card waiting period. Apparently on expensive jobs, the Money has to be in "shops" account before they can order the part which is slated to take 4 days for delivery. That ads up to a week right there before we have even started the job, and I was not told about that. Hopefully if there are anymore surprises, they are only minor surprises, and not worth mentioning. I would love to report a positive experience from Bend Auto Care, and even the score a bit on their yelp reviews. I will keep you posted. read more

While traveling across country our air conditioner quit working. Fortunately I stopped at Bend Auto Care. Even though it was almost closing time and I had no appointment Jeremy immediately began to diagnose the problem. Very quickly he found an electrical problem that was close to starting a fire. He was able to obtain the needed parts by 9 am the next morning and had the car repaired within an hour. Absolutely could not have had better service. I thought that the price was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service. While Jeremy was working on my car I had the opportunity to look around the shop. While it isn't the cleanest, neatest shop it is very obvious that it is a "repair shop " not a throw a part at it and see if that fixed the problem. I only wish that there was a repair shop like Bend Auto Care near where I live. read more

Called to schedule our spot. On Friday he said we could bring in this Thursday. Called Monday to confirm. He said Friday or Monday. As I was getting g off phone he started saying some time next week. I was like wait a minute. First you said Thursday, then Friday, then Monday and now you're saying bring the car in on Monday and we'll have done time next week. I need more of a commitment. This little twerp HUNG UP ON ME and then turned the phones off. He informed me the owner was gone, so I know I wasn't treated like this by the owner. I own a business and you don't treat customers like this. I wasn't rude, I didn't raise my voice, I simply stated I needed more of a commitment due to being without a vehicle and that was how he handled it. My car still runs. You just can't love the seat forward so my husband had to dry everywhere. We can't have our car sit for 3 to 4 days at a ship while they decide when they're going to work it in. read more

Had a great experience called Jeremy at 3:pm with a blown radiator on my Dodge diesel pickup he had me limp it in ordered the parts needed and had my daughter and I back on the road by 5:pm. He gave me a fair price and let me know that my windshield washer motor had been damaged on tear down and replace it as well for free. Would go back for service if lived in the area very impressed !!!! read more

I went in for a simple tune up and fuel filter and Jeremy beat schwab's price for my brakes and shocks so he received my business for those services also. Saved me a couple hundred bucks and my old daily driver now drives like when I first got her. I will be going to Jeremy for any services I may need in the future. read more

The air conditioning on my wife's 2005 Pontiac Grand Am was not blowing cold air. I knew it was almost impossible to find an auto place that would have time to just look at it with out an appointment. After five attempts at other places, I arrived at Bend Auto Care thinking I was gonna get another "no". I told the owner (Mike O'Connor) my situation and he was willing to look at it! I got lucky! He told me that since he was the only one in the shop that day that he might have to stop and take phone calls or take care of other customers. I agreed. Mike was a really down to earth kind of guy and was very polite and professional. He took care of the A/C in no time. Mike has been in the business for 30 years and knows his stuff. He also noticed a grinding sound that most likely was a wheel bearing issue. I felt that he really appreciated my business. I would highly recommend his shop for all of your auto needs. Several months ago I brought my car to Bend Auto Care for a repair. It had broken down on the way to work and I had it towed there. My previous mechanic had moved to Idaho, and I had been recommended by a friend to try Bend Auto Care. I gave them a description of what the problem was, and they quickly told me what they thought was wrong and an estimation of the price. I thought at the time that the price seemed quite high, but I would have had to pay for a second tow to take my car somewhere else and could possibly be just as expensive, so I took my chances. They did handle the repairs quickly and I was pleased about that. But when I got a copy of my receipt (with the part numbers listed for the items they replaced) I thought I would do some homework just to see if I was getting a fair shake. I wasn't. Not even close. I called a local auto parts store and asked if they could look at how much it would cost me to purchase the same parts. He quickly found it and told me. I was shocked to find out that Bend Auto Care had charged me more than twice what it would have cost me to purchase the same parts. The gentleman at the auto parts store also informed me that mechanics purchase those parts at discounted rates, so it cost them even less than it would have cost me. I told him how much they charged me for the parts, and he was stunned and said that not only is that bad business, but it's also illegal to mark the parts up that much. To Bend Auto Care's credit, they did refund a portion of my bill after I confronted them on the issue. But had I not done my research there is no way that I would have ever known. I understand a small mark-up on the parts to make a profit (although mechanics generally make their money on the labor), but charging me more than double the cost is dishonest and a horrible business practice. I would not recommend doing business there. read more

Excellent service! We moved to Bend one year ago. Had not found a mechanic yet like my old one, Tim. My son's Honda was making a very loud annoying noise. I called three places, the 1st went to voicemail. The 2nd one called Greens, the guy said they were all booked up, and when I told him it was a Honda he said they don't work on Honda, only Toyota. I though that guy from Greens was lame. Then I called Bend Auto Care. Jeremy was so helpful, told me to bring in the car and he'd check it out that very day. Wow! Turned out it was a rock that was stuck in the brake caliper. I was not even halfway home yet when he called me and said it was ready to be picked up! No charge for the diagnosis or labor! Jeremy is a righteous and honest mechanic! He is our new Tim!! Would highly recommend Bend Auto Care and Jeremy!!!! read more

Absolute crap. Sat on on my car for over 5 days before the repair even started. After the repair started the parts they ordered were wrong along with additional repairs needed which can be expected. Part took an additional 2 days for one and a few for the others because the parts had to be shipped from out of state. At this point with half the repair done and waiting now on parts that had to be shipped I'm notified that the cost increased by over 600 bucks due to labor. I'm committed to the repair and agree to the cost so that the repair can be done. At this time I let them know that it will be on the first that I can pay because they have now ha my vehicle over 3 weeks. Mind you the repair was to be done at a max of 5 days after the car had been dropped off. They claim that they had called 4 days before the call I received saying my car was done. The next day the owner calls asking about being paid after I had let the employee that called me the day before when I could make the full payment. The owner then starts telling me about the storage fee that is required now that he has to wait. THIS FEE WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT PRIOR. My family has gone to bend auto for years before this for repairs to more then one of our cars and never have we had this fee be brought up. He explains that the only way to avoid this fee is if I start to make payments. I had asked if BEFORE the car was brought in, that I the repair cost was higher if I could make payments and the employee had expressed that they wanted full payment over partial payments spread out. I felt badgered and cornered with demands of payment well after the original repair time and afte the time I told them that I said I would have money to pay. If they repair had been done in the timely manor and when I said I wanted the car ready there would be now issue. They asked me when I wanted my vehicle done and I said the first of the month. I dropped of the car 2 days before thanks giving. Now 2 weeks after the original time I asked for the car to be done an multiple calls from them saying it was taking longer they call acting though it's been a month sense the car seen done and as though I was avoiding paying them. It's low, unprofessional and the owner even confused my repairs with someone else and tried to argue over things that where never said. He claims he bases his business on honesty, apparently his honesty is on a need to know when it helps his wallet. I do not suggest this business after this recent issue and I will not be coming back. All 3 of my other cars I paid on time and never had issue with waiting on the repairs to be done. Thus I had money exactly when the repair was done. I feel that after the lack of actual knowledge of why my car would be done would have helped me know when they needed to be paid. But regardless it's wrong to let a person know of a fee after they have let them know when the car will be paid. read more

My recent appointment was disappointing due to being quoted $160.00 by the mechanic and then being charged $178.00 by the owner after the work was done. When I came in for my appointment at the end of June 2017, the owner originally DENIED service to me. But after he realized I was not going to come back due to him not keeping my appointment, he changed his mind. Once I got service, the owner said he could not find the A/C leak and charged me the $178.00 for the dye. He said to come back if the A/C charge did not hold. When I used my A/C a week later, I had no A/C. When I took my car back in and talked to the mechanic, he said the leak was in the condenser. It was then I realized that finding the leak does not include fixing it. The mechanic nor the owner explained that to me initially. I realize there has been a huge misunderstanding dealing with the owner on my initial June 2017 visit. The mechanic told me, he would talk to the owner. So I am still waiting for the mechanic to call me back and tell me what the owner said. To date I have not received call from the mechanic nor the owner. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING IN A WRITTEN QUOTE EXPLAINING EVERYTHING THEY ARE DOING BEFORE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. read more
