Just left Wade Bryant and felt totally ripped off. It was a classic bait, and switch. They showed me a piece of paper that said, my total bill would be 2 38 0 8. Yet when I picked it up, it was over $400. Because apparently there were a number of total bill lines on my receipt. But that is not how it was presented to me. They put a list of things it needed to be done of which one of them was to replace a very dirty air filter which is interesting because I replaced it two weeks ago when I had my oil changed. Transmission was going out on truck. They ran multi point inspection $400 then changed transmission fluid $600. After $1000 they said it was in perfect shape even though overheating by 30-40 degrees. It stoped shifting now I am buying a transmission....wish I had that wasted $1000. read more

These guys were amazing! For starters, they answered the phone at 4:40pm on Friday. Many others didn't. We either got voicemail or the answer that everyone was booked out for the next 6 weeks... We were traveling in Bend, hauling a large trailer with our diesel truck. Our check engine light came on. We figured out that it was one of the engine thermostats...which meant we wouldn't be able to haul our trailer home (or even drive the truck empty over the pass) without fixing the problem. Essentially, we were stranded. This shop answered the phone, and initially referred us to two other places. But, then they actually called us back and said the shop owner would take care of the problem for us first thing Monday morning. And they did. They even showed us the malfunctioning part, which was nice to know there was a real problem... read more

Before Wade passed away he sold the business. I continued to go there and after supposedly repairing a loose crankcase pulley a month later the problem returned. I had it towed back and was told I needed a new engine. I had it towed to a mechanic friend's place and he took the pulley off and nothing had ever been replaced, just tightened. I was charged for parts that were never replaced. I usually ask for the old parts but didn't that time and got hosed! Wade was an honest man! I wouldn't trust this shop to do an oil change. read more

I got BURNED! Went in for front suspension repair & got estimate. They called the day of the job and told me it needed more parts/labor (more $$). I asked if they would be able to align front wheels with just the work they estimated, and they said yes. Picked up vehicle and was told it wasn't correctly aligned, as they promised. Woman behind desk was extremely rude & I asked to speak with owner -- and he turned out to be just as bad. They made no offers to correct anything. I do NOT recommend Wade Bryant. read more

We were in the middle of a road trip, when our check engine light came on. Rather than risk it, we checked for AAA approved shops. The first place I called said they could get me in Friday. To run a diagnostic. (It was a Monday morning.) Called Wade Bryant's next. They got me in, diagnosed the issue, and had an estimate ready. The problem was something I've had worked on before, and they showed me why I was having repeat problems. (The difference being factory parts versus knock-offs.) It was more expensive, mostly due to the factory parts, but they showed me the engineering changes from the old parts to the new and showed me why the old part failed. (And why the manufacturers changed the design.) They had estimated about a day to get the work done, so I had to get a hotel room. However, Matt and Shane were awesome and fast-tracked getting the parts and finishing the repairs. They got us out the door before closing time, and we got to continue our vacation. (Bummed to eat the cost of the room, but more excited to get to the coast!) They were great to work with in every regard, and this would be my shop if I lived in Bend! read more

It's unfortunate I have to write this review, as the employees of Wade Bryant are great people and I had no trouble with them. However, the short answer is they misdiagnosed my truck's issues and I ended up paying a lot of money for something I didn't need. The long answer: My truck had been having some issues for the past 6 months that I, my tow truck driver, and a close friend thought was likely the fuel pump. I got it towed to Wade Bryant and gave the employees an in-depth description of my issue. They said they would check it out over the weekend. They called the following Tuesday and said they were able to get it running (they were unable to recreate the issue I brought it in for), and the problem was likely not the fuel pump but a long list of other issues that would be considered routine maintenance (spark plug, spark plug wiring, belts, hoses, etc.). I asked them again about the fuel pump, reminding them that the issue only came around after the fuel gauge was below 1/4 full. The assured me they thought it was the basic repairs, which totaled just under $1000 when it was all said and done. I got back at the shop and was able to get it back to Portland, where I live now. The next day, I go out to a restaurant and when I leave the restaurant to go home, it doesn't crank -- same issue as before. After finally getting to recoup some cost from the first repair, I took the truck into the shop last week. They said after a diagnosis, everything looked great EXCEPT for the fuel pump, that looked like it needed replacing a long time ago. Since getting the repairs done, the truck has been running great. Partially because of all of the new gear under the hood (repairs I could have mostly done myself if I still lived in Bend), but 90% because it has a functioning fuel pump (a repair I couldn't do myself). Once again, I don't think it was malicious. I just wish they would have been more thorough considering I was fairly certain it was the fuel pump. But, after the $90 inspection fee (new shop charged me $35) and the near $1000 in routine maintenance, I have to write an unfavorable review. I hope Wade Bryant treats their customer better in the future. read more

This company has a nice, clean waiting room. And that is the nicest thing I can say about them. They charge premium prices for their labor, but you can't depend upon them. We needed an expensive repair made and they blew us off. The part never arrived for the $1,000 plus repair. And they never called to explain. Spent hundreds of dollars for nothing ! I brought my vehicle in because the AC was not working. They replaced the accumulator and orifice tube. After paying for the repair the service writer told me that the system had been contaminated with desiccant from a failed part. She told me that AC could stop working at any time which it did less then a mile from their shop. They should have informed of the issues and the best course of action to repair my AC. The system should have been isolated and flushed with solvent at minimum, I paid for parts and refrigerant that are now ruined and the labor to install them. Saw the great reviews and was excited to try a new car repair place because we just moved to Bend. I should've been tipped off by the fact that no one answered my request for an appointment on the website. When I took the car in I said it had exhaust problem and it might be the manifold and there was a shimmy that might be a low tire. I was told it would about $80 and assumed that would go to fixing the car. They called to pick up the car and was told they put air in a tire (didn't fix shimmy it's still there) i asked about exhaust and if it was the manifold how much it was to fix it. I was told it probably is the manifold but they didn't have a quote. But they would get me a quote soon. Weeks go by. No quote. Wait I brought it in to be fixed! Now I have my car back with nothing fixed, never got a quote plus I paid $80. Hmmmm read more

I tried to post a review before, but doesn't seem that it got posted. We were on a long weekend skiing trip to Bend from Portland when my Battery light came on, traveling through the pass at Mt. Hood. I wasn't quite sure if it were a battery problem or an Alternator issue, but suspected the worst which was the Alternator. Sure enough, the windshield wiper, and then the console lights started to go out and the car eventually came to a stop (safely) about 13 miles west of Warm Springs. It was later in the afternoon and my concern was that we could not find a place that we could make before they closed. AAA helped us to find Wade Bryant's, but also found out that they closed at 5pm. It was Friday and I was not hopeful that they would wait for us. After calling Leanne a couple of times and keeping her posted on our status, she found one of their mechanics who could stay after 5pm and wait for us. She also found the part after calling 2-3 Auto Parts places. My car is an older model Lexus and is not always easy to find parts for, outside of the dealership, but she found one place which happened to have one of these alternators. We got towed by AAA and made it their facilities by about 5:30. To our surprise, Leanne and the owner were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable in this stressful situation. They took the necessary time to fully check the electrical systems and verify that it was in fact the alternator. The proceeded to get the new alternator installed within an hour and got us on our way with smiles and handshakes. I think they truly salvaged our weekend and turned a bad situation into a small speed bump which made us very happy. We definitely recommend them and really appreciate their help in this situation. My mom, sister and I all take our vehicles to Wade. He's saved us thousands in auto repairs! A large oil change chain in town failed to spot an issue which they claimed they checked as part of their "checkup," and as a result the vehicle was rendered immobile and we had it towed to Wade's. He was able to pinpoint the problem and actually phoned the oil change chain himself and had them cover THE ENTIRE COST of the repairs. Wow. Above and beyond service. A year ago, I had my left axle replaced on my vehicle. Everything was fine until about a year later, when I had a noise that sounded like the same axle? I took it in and they ordered the part (which was a little over the year warranty) and replaced it due to the faulty part for NO COST!! They're reliable, the service is wonderful and they are certainly a mechanic you can trust. read more

ello Central Oregon community....I really don't like writing bad reviews about local businesses, but this time it's well deserved. We took my minivan in to Wade Bryants Auto Repair to have the air conditioning repaired. When we picked the van up it cost $181.00 and we were advised the wok was warranted. Exactly 1 week later the air conditioning went out again. They advised us it will cost an additional $550.00 to fix it this time. A complete rip off, not to mention they couldn't get their stories right on anything. We researched what they said they did and now what they stated needed to be done and nothing meshed. They essentially pocketed almost $200.00 for doing nothing. Don't go here for your automotive needs. read more
