Came here after parent's friend recommended the place to us. As others have mentioned, the guy is very honest and only fix what is needed. I recently took my Honda Accord to get a oil change at the dealorship (because of lack of time and as this place gets really packed) and was told I need a left front cv boot change and quoted me $289. I called and made an appointment with Evolution Automative and took my car in yesterday. I dropped my car off around 8:30 am and they were done by 10:30pm. And the grand total of my bill was.....$65. Update . . . Do not go here for anything other than an oil change! I went in this morning because my car was slow to start and the check engine light was on. I left my keys and went to sit outside. Fast forward an hour and a half and I went in to ask him how much longer it was going to be. His response, a few hours at least, he didn't realize I'd been waiting (even though he passed by me multiple times outside). He was doing all of the oil changes first, even the ones that got there after me. When I asked him when I hsllshould bring the car back he said he didn't know. The afternoon at least but he couldn't guarantee anything. I repeat, do not go here for anything other than an oil change. That is his main business and obviously all that matters to him. read more

With the exception of a few that are never pleased, I was so impressed with his 100 4.5 positive reviews that I 'm giving him 5b stars now and calling him first thing in the morning. It is incredibly difficult to find a good mechanic period. Going by the vast majority of positive reviews, Surya has it all. Fair prices, no up-sell or unnecessary repairs, honest and sounds like an all around good guy. I'm giving him 5 stars now on the honor system and calling him first thing in the morning. I had to laugh at one guy who complained that he wouldn't fix his antenna and radio. I guess he's not familiar with Best Buy. I have always been going to this place for all the major services of my 4 cars after i my sister's friend introduce me to it. He is a really honest guy, and definitely wont ripped u off on things u dont need....there might be even time where i want him to change something, and he just tell me i dont need it, and refuse to do the job. =) The only bad thing i can think of is that he is always soooo busy! if you want to get your car serviced during the weekend for minor services (oil change), be sure to get there before 10am..or else he might turn u away. oh ya...also...an extra bonus that i like this place a lot is that they purchase genuine Toyota parts from Toyota dealers to use them on your toyota! read more

No freebies here. I was referred to this place from a friend from church. I also read the reviews here and thought I'd give it a shot. I called and we agreed on a time to meet. The owner was cool, said he was working with a customer and I was next :) I timed him from this point to completion, 45min and I was out. My drivers side door wouldn't open from the outside but the inside was fine. He replaced a pin that broke, $35. I think the owner should rename his place, Honest Auto, I Never Lie. I'm referring him to EVERYONE I know. I took my car to LONGO TOYOTA once for a defective light on my rear door. Waited for 1hr 45min. Once I got my car, I checked the light and sure enough, it was still defective. They should rename their place, "Dishonest Auto, You Never Lie". read more

Surya save me $580 !!! My Honda Accord had a problem there was no cold air suddenly last week when the temperature hit 104. My regular garage guy does not fix A/C and brought my Honda to other garage,they quoted me $850 and said the compressor was bad,need to change a rebuilt one. $850 !!!,it would kill me .I try to find a reliable garage on Yelp ,luckily I found Evolution. Surya did a quickly test and said could be a problem on COIL,may not be the compressor,if the problem is coil, it cost about $280 to change a new one,he ordered a genuine part from Honda and fix my car very soon. Despite some of these negative reviews recently I had another great experience here about a month ago. Went to the dealer for some weird noise thinking it would be cover by warranty, well it wasn't. Ended up being the front struts. One of them was leaking and the other making a clicking noise when I would turn. Dealer wanted $700 out the door. Evolution Automotive, $300 out the door. This place specializes in Honda's and Lexus', which turned out to save me money over a local mechanic. I previously took my car (1993 ES300) to Foreign Motors (http://www.yelp.com/biz/foreign-motor-service-temple-city) to get my aircon fixed. Foreign Motors said it would cost $800-$1000 to fix, and this is before they even knew what was wrong with it. Evolution Automotive charged me $430 out the door, after they quickly diagnosed the problem being the a/c compressor was leaking. My complaint however is that Evolution Automotive either doesn't or isn't willing to fix (small?) electrical problems. I asked them to fix my radio and antenna, but they said they wouldn't be able to do those repairs. read more

Not only the price is extremely reasonable, the owner, Surya, really gets the work done. Went to another shop and was told the motor needed to be replaced. Went to Evolution and was told the problem was probably the glue that held the window together. Sure enough, there was nothing wrong with the motor, they just had to reapply the glue which costed $75 rather than $275. read more

Older gentleman was the only one working at the time, told me to come back because he was super busy, but he was very polite and recommended I only replace the front, because the rears were in good condition. First time review because I have to write one for a business truly deserving of this. Took my 1998 Lexus GS400 in because I was about to acquire the car and wanted to know if there were any major problems with it. Saw Yelp reviews and I setup an appointment and the owner himself test drove it personally. Bottom line, there were no major repairs needed, and he even topped off the brake fluids on the car AT NO CHARGE. I know he didint spend a lot of time on it, but it did take time from his busy schedule. I think he does it as goodwill that you will bring your car in for service if you do need it....and it worked for me. Just got an oil change at Evolution Automotive recently and replaced the front brakes. The wait time is usually long but the service is as good as one can get with a honest price so no complain. I don't think you can find many auto repair shops in the San Gabriel Valley that customers show up before 730am waiting for its opening. Just talked to a customer this morning while waiting for my wife's car to be serviced. The guy said he's been a Evolution Automotive customer for 20 year and Surya confirmed that. I use Evolution Automotive for all my repairs except oil change but I think I better use it for that as well. I did my oil change about a month ago at another place using a coupon. The technician there told me that I needed new break pads for my Toyota Matrix immediately. The guy quoted me $150 and I told him that is too much; then he quoted me for $100 and I told him that's still too much as I can get it for $80 (at Evolution). Once the oil change was done, I drove to Evolution and asked for a second opinion. The owner told me that the break pad would last at least another 4000 miles without any problem. So I left with peace of mind. I guess I will never go to oil change places that offer discount as those places just use cheap oil change as bait so that they can get more money from you by suggesting other more expensive repair services. Evolution never does that. I asked him once if my car needs an engine flush as it looses power. He told me flat out save the money as engine flush has no use in restoring power for Japanese cars. I highly recommend this place for your auto repair needs. You get honest service at an inexpensive price! read more
