I really love this spa. Especially for massages, facials and facial waxing. Everyone here is so nice and accommodating. The rooms look brand new, clean, designed and relaxing. I've been to other spa's in the city for various treatments and this one right in Marin feels more inviting. You can pop right in for anything or make a day of it. It does have competitive prices but the service is worth it. They have wonderful products, I received a kit of honey papaya products from this spa for a gift over the holidays and they're awesome! My mom just went on their retreat up in Stinson Beach for four days and loved it. They are such a high quality spa. read more

I've been seeing Michelle at Evo Spa for years and I couldn't be happier. Michelle is very pleasant, personable and does excellent work. I'm a regular for waxing and have occasional facials... Michelle is the only person I trust to do my eyebrows. Through the years she's been suggesting that I try microdermabrasion on my 66 year old face. I finally had her do microdermabrasion and have to admit it was well worth the money- my face looked healthy and radiant. Little day spa in the Strawberry Village strip mall. It was quite cute. The receptionist was not very polite or engaging. I was disappointed. The last thing you want when you are looking forward to a relaxing experience is rudeness. I went there for a Brazilian wax. Michelle was good. She was really nice and actually recommend some great restaurants in the area. I would go back for a massage or to try the sauna ( not quite sure what it does but it's special!). I just recently got a wax at Evo and am beyond delighted! Of course waxing is very painful so I was not looking forward it. However, the woman (Ferren) was great. I have been going here for years and always find it impeccably clean, relaxing and full of wonderful small details...like mints in the service rooms in a dish with little tongs, lovely spa water, fun meditation cards in the relaxation room with warm neck wraps and even blankets while you wait. Today put me over the top with the most relaxing massage from Renee. She has an amazing healing touch and pays attention to details. Thank you Renee! Then I moved onto a facial with Sam. Wonderful! I have had such great experiences at Evo spa that I feel compelled to give them a 5 star shout out! The gift shop has the most unique gifts, clothes, organic products and jewelry. The buyer is so good that i overheard a women in Pilates talking about how she makes a point to shop there because it is a hidden treasure. I have had several facials which were top notch. I feel so cared for by the staff and all of the details are so thoughtful. I love the heated neck pillows and tea while I am in the waiting room. I purposely arrive early so that I can start unwinding. The massage team are simply talented and i am rather particular with body work. Lastly the spray tan is the best around. I am having a hard time deciding a 2 or 3 star for the place. 5 stars for the massage therapist, Callea. She was AWESOME, one of the best massages EVER. Which is why I am not giving this a 1 star rating. Negatives? Oh....the bathroom/shower/locker room/closet. There were 5 of us in there at 1 time. Wow, this room is big enough for 1 maybe 2 at the most in there at the same time. This was A HORRIBLE first impression. The locker did not have the robe and sandals as stated, so I had to go to the front desk and ask for them. I am a bit timid when it comes to such things and I asked quietly and kindly. In kind, I received the SNOTTIEST of all remarks and was made to feel like crap for even asking. I seriously considered not changing into a robe. Positives? The little "mediation" room. That was a cute and comfy little area. Great vibe. The massage rooms, although, the beds are a bit cheap, I was so thrilled with my massage that I didn't bother noticing anything else. The options of products in the boutique/front area. Premier Research is a top notch company and their stuff is hard to find....so thrilled to have found it there. More than likely I will return for another amazing massage, only if a deal is offered, $100 for a 60min is a bit much since there are no real amenities to use and enjoy. read more

Definitely pricey but worth it!! My husband and I received 2 quick relief massages (30 min and $65 ea) and it was amazing. I thought they were mostly going to concentrate on just the back since we didn't have much time but I received a full body massage which to me, was a huge plus... Afterwards, we didn't feel rushed, we went back to our own separate bathroom/locker room, took our time and even took a quick shower (to get the oil off). I just moved up to Marin from San Diego for a new job and my skin is having a fit (um, well, no i have not been drinking my water and yes, i've been passing out with makeup on....). the front desk is snooty. the robes are comfy. the bathroom too small. the decor lovely. the smell of all the oils perfect. Renee was who I was working with, she was awesome. I had an Turkish Scrub done which was cool because I had never experienced anything on a Hydro bed before. (A bed where you sink into water as if you are floating on top) kinda like a water bed. Pretty neat feeling. The Coffee, lemon and olive stone scrub was quiet a treat. After rinsing it off. She applied this aromatic cardamom amber oil over me - it was all just perfect. read more

I was recently given a SpaFinder gift certificate and found myself challenged by how to chose my spa....I was hesitant to try a "spa" in a strip mall, but I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby is filled with great, inexpensive jewelry, beauty products, etc. The private lobby in the back has a good variety of treats (nutz, fruit, books, smelly candles, etc). The woman who did my facial was very nice, didn't try to upsell me every time I asked her a question and did a great job. Its not the cheapest spa, but I would go back. read more

I wish I could afford to come here every day. Recently came with a girlfriend and got an hour long deep tissue massage. So relaxing! Each time I've visited this spa, there has been reliably good therapists, good atmosphere, etc. I gave four stars because the locker room to change in is awkwardly small for the size of the spa. I was recently in there with 3 other ladies and it was too cramped and weird for a locker room. I'm surprised that they didn't improve the locker room when they rebuilt after the fire. read more

I have never used Evo Spa for anything but their new spray tan specialist LINDA is someone who previously worked in the east bay and I plan on traveling across the Ran Rafael bridge for my spray tans from now on. She is a total pro. Never any lines or residue under your arms and the color is always natural. Not like that girl on "Jersey Shore" who looks like a navel orange. Linda also pays special attention to the toes and fingers with cream to make sure the spray doesn't discolor . Ask for LINDA. read more

The truth of the matter is, the massage therapists, estheticians, and spray tan folks are almost all really wonderful. The front of the house is a different story. Trip before last they booked me under the wrong name, this last time, I asked to book a facial and a 90 minute massage. they completely neglected to book the massage. Also when I went up front to ask for a robe (because they had not been replaced in the lockers) one employee (who I believe is the manager) asked what I needed and when I said I needed a robe she pointed at the other two and said "they are busy with customers" .. so I'm suppposed to be late for my treatment because you can't be bothered??? Stuff happens, I get that, but it's all in how you handle it. No offer of recovery for the extra 90 minutes I planned to spend on my second treatment ( my poor sore muscles were so disappointed) no apology no nothing. Bottom line is I love the treatments, but make sure you double and triple check that they've got your appointment and your name right, and maybe bring your own or don't be so picky about whether you have a robe. I'm in the luxury hospitality business myself and when people pay for luxury services they expect the best, front to back. read more

I was put on what I can only describe as a waterbed that wasn't filled all the way. I'm not quite sure what I was supposed to get out of that and was just waiting for it to be over. I have been coming to Evo for years. I mainly get massages but do also get spray tans and waxing here as well. They do a great job. It's not as fancy as some of the spas in wine country, but they are also less expenisve than those spots. I think it's a great service for the price. The massages are amazing! The first time I went (2 weeks ago) for a Mother-to-be massage, I was really happy to have found a relaxing place near my home and was pleased by the experience of the therapist. Renee was gentle, caring and gave me a great massage (I am an ayurvedic massage therapist so I can appreciate the skills of a peer). I decided to book another massage with her but adding a facial which is the full Mother-to-be package. Not really cheap. As I showed up this morning I mentioned that I had an appointment with Renee. The girl at the reception told me abruptly that Renee wasn't working today... Ok, I was surprised (especially because they called me 48h prior to confirm the appointment but didn't tell me they changed therapist) but gave it a try although this is my 3rd pregnancy and I have tried many other therapists that were fair to really bad. So I was happy to have found a good one. It turned out that the "substitute" was really kind but her massage was too deep and too rough for my 36 week pregnancy. And honestly, that Mother-to-be package: lay for 2h15' on your back... No matter how far along you are, this is really not ok for a pregnant women. I had to request many times to lay on my side. But a facial, laying on your side...! That is not ideal. Also, the facial gives you another 15 or 20' of neck/shoulder/arm massage that is a repetition of the one you've had before. Finally, I had issues with the billing. As I booked (and asked for confirmation at the front desk after my first treatment) a Friday 9am, I wanted to make sure I'd get the 15% off early bird. Otherwise, black friday was not really my first choice and I would have preferred Saturday morning. But since there was a discount (confirmed many times) I kept Fri morning. It turned out that at check-out they charged the full amount saying it was already a package... Some employees' attitudes are not correct and they have no idea how to talk to a customer. Not to mention the shower that I couldn't use because it was packed with hair and looked really dirty. The treatments are not worth the price either. I am really disappointed and will not go back. And don't recommend pregnant women to spend time and money there either! The fact is, you spend your time during the treatment thinking about how you've been treated at the front desk and this is the first time I feel the urge to leave a review. read more

I LOVE this spa. From when you check in to when you leave (floating) you feel pampered. I especially like the decor and quite room with waterfall. Very soothing. BAD Experience just this morning. Today is my birthday and I decided to treat myself to a massage. I had been here before a few years ago and loved it, I even buy my mom a gift card here for Christmas each year. I had a 9am appointment, right when they open, walked in the door a few minutes before 9, was quickly taken to a sitting area (never asked if I needed a locker or to change into a robe). I sat for 5-ish minutes and then the massage therapist came to get me. As we walked to the room I asked if I was going to get a locker for my things, she said she wasn't sure because she was new, and she would find out. The person who had walked me back to begin with came back and said that she thought I wanted my massage to start on time so she didn't get me a locker. I said isn't it 9 and isn't that the time you open, she said yes, and I said I was here a few minutes before 9 for my appointment. She quite abruptly explained how to use the locker, which I then said never mind to because I was so surprised at the way she was talking to me and rushing me. I deserve the same experience as any other appointment time and spent half my massage thinking about how ride she was. I thought I was going to spend the morning feeling pampered, nice relaxing massage, cup of tea, shower, shopping--with my things put away for me to grab at my leisure but that was not the case and I left right after my massage without a shower, tea, or even a thank you from the people at the front. The girl was there when I was rung up and didn't even apologize--apparently she thinks she didn't act inappropriately at all. read more

Probably won't be back. The spa is cramped, very little space to change or relax and the prices are high. My massage was mediocre. I also arranged for a make-up lesson for my 13 year old daughter. I asked them to wait for me to join them until after my massage was over. They started without me. I also asked them to keep the makeup natural and she came out way too made-up. The spa part of my experience was fine. It was their policy and employee I had found to be unsatisfactory. I purchased a product, but it was not what I wanted. When I tried to return it, I was told they did not do returns. This was not stated on the receipt, nor was I told. Instead the condescending employee pulled a sign form UNDERNEATH the counter that had their return policy of on it. When I pointed out that the sign was not visible, and I should have been informed of the policy, I was told it was not their responsibility. read more

Service depends on who you get, not bad, but not spectacular. Way overpriced services and products! I've been here for facials and massage. The massage was mediocre, I prefer to go to Mill Valley massage for a much more affordable massage where they listen to my needs. I had one wonderful facial, i think it was with Vanessa. But recently I had a facial with Marcie and it seemed okay, but the extractions were too aggressive and uncomfortable. My skin did feel silky soft after the facial, but I don't see a nice difference in my appearance, and I've had one awful blemish that appeared due to the facial and has lasted over a week. The experience could have been more relaxing and friendly. I really don't like coming out to pay and being offered several extremely pricey products. The way they do it is to automatically charge the amount of all the products to the bill, without a word about it. It was up to me to realize this and say I didn't want it all. I'll probably go somewhere else next time. read more
