At first, Everybody Eats is not your normal bakery. However, the owner is stupendously kind and friendly. The food is also delicious. We tried the pizza dough and challah and rolls all of which were gluten-free. The rolls are perfect with burgers and now have become regular for us. What a great place it is please go here!!! Life is good when restaurants carry Everybody Eats! This company is a gluten free persons heaven!!! The bread products are out of this world. Light, fluffy, flavorful unlike most gluten free bread products. I get so frustrated when we go somewhere that serves GF bread that is crumbly, tasteless, thick and nasty- I tell them about Everybody Eats. My husband and love Astoria's Sandwich Bar and sometimes he gets a GF one to so we can split our sandwiches. He loves Everybody Eats bread especially the baguette. This place is like no other gf bread. If you haven't tested it I urge you to run and get some! G-FreeNYC offers it as well as many other locations. I actually haven't tested the bagels or cookies but have heard all good things. I would love it if Brooklyn Coffee shops in Astoria carried there bagels so we could enjoy the coffee house. This company needs to be in all Astoria restaurants now days!! Wish more natural/health food shops in Astoria had it stocked- maybe someday soon! This place is DANGEROUSLY good -- do not go in here unless you want DELICIOUS treats and want to spend lots of money.. I SWEAR I simply stopped by to get a few gluten free bagels - because the old gluten free bagel store is closed ... but I was totally flavor seduced by the lovely owners. When the door opened I was greeted by a nice young man - who told me his father had Celiacs ( like me ) and was the chef- then he sat me down - handed me a menu and served me a hot sweet melty cinnamon bun on a silver plate ( I am not kidding ) ... That was it -- I was gone -- I just kept pointing at items on the menu and handing him my credit card... everything was SO delicious -- my advice -- bring a large bag of money and buy everything they have available ( I bought a large tray of cinnamon buns -- I only eat one a day - but they are SOOOO GOOOD!) read more

I purchased a chocolate cake with dairy free marshmallow icing for my husband's birthday last night, and it was so good my guests didn't know it was gf. I love this shop set up. At first when I opened the door and saw another door to the kitchen I thought I'd come in the wrong door, but I hadn't, you enter & Pedro (total sweetheart) takes you to the office & hands you a menu to order, he retrieves your item(s) & you pay & done. This place is awesome!!! I have been wanting to go here for ages because they have hard/crusty gluten free baguettes. If you know anything about gluten free baking then you know this is rare in the US of A. So this is an important bakery on the gluten free map. I was in the neighborhood today and called up to find out how to order my baked goods for Saturday. One of the co-owners (Bruce) answered and he told me to come on over even though it was a Wednesday (thats great service I tell ya!) Triple hooray! So the storefront is actually a nondescript building in Gowanus. There is no sign so make sure you have the address( its at the corner of Carroll and 3rd Ave). Bruce offered me a cookie(sugar or chocolate chip). The gluten free chocolate chip cookie was buttery, crunchy and sweet. Absolutely no way to know you are eating something gluten free. Thank God no bean flours are used here.These chocolate chip cookies will be on my list the next time I go. I ordered 2 packages of gluten free baguettes (which is 4 thin baguettes about as long as my forearm or 2 to a package) and 1 gluten free and dairy free challah bread. As soon as I got home I thawed them and warmed them up in the oven. The baguette is totally on point. Its chewy and crusty and with my Earth balance spread I am in heaven. Then I had the challah and it was light and airy and sweet and melted in my mouth. Its texture was different from most gluten challah I have had-this challah is more eggy/spongy like angel food cake in texture. In anycase I cant wait to have these breads for breakfast/lunch/dinner. I know that these wont last long as its only been a few hours and I already finished one baguette! These products arent cheap-the total came to $27-but you already know that gluten free products are expensive. In this case its worth EVERY penny. read more

My son has a severe dairy and nut allergy it's very hard to find a facility that can accommodate both of our needs. Everybody eats takes allergies very serious. The cake was DELICIOUS. All of the kids ate it and didn't know the difference as far as it being specially made. It was great. From now on our cakes, cookies etc will come from Everybody Eats. Everybody Eats Deli Rolls are some of the best you'll find. Stop in on Saturdays to purchase your goods in person and you even get a free chocolate chip cookie! (They exactly mimic the taste and texture of a Chips Ahoy cookie except they are twice as large.) I haven't tried anything beyond their bread and cookies but I imagine their pasta would live up to the standards of their other fare. I wish they sold this stuff in grocery stores so I wouldn't have to wait until Saturdays to stock up! read more

I completely love how many gluten free products they have here - the taste is excellent, and I feel bad giving them 4 stars, but no one could tell me if the Tocopherols were from wheat germ or not. I ordered a chocolate Engagement party cake and it was divine. Moist, Delicious and Fresh. "Everybody Eats" did an amazing job and no one knew it was Gluten Free. In addition the owner was awesome to work with and the other baked goods were equally amazing. Love the baguettes, butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies and bagels. I can't give this place enough stars! The food is unbelievably good and Pedro is so warm and welcoming! I came here after reading Yelp reviews and it was exactly how others describe it- not a store, but more of an office with a menu and Pedro welcomed me and my boyfriend in right away. He offered us a cookie and my boyfriend (who is not celiac, but I am) raved about how it was an amazingly good cookie and he would have never known that it was GF. I have tried the bagels- WOW, the challah- amazing, and the chocolate chip cookies- WOW as well! I also got some pizza shells and I can't wait to try those too! I don't eat GF products that regularly because they tend to taste terrible with bad texture and usually they are full a ton of unhealthy things to get the taste to be somewhat normal. This place is going to be my go-to cheat for delicious GF baked goods! I have really struggled with food choices available after my celiac diagnosis last winter, but this place restored my faith in GF baked goods that taste amazing! Holy moly is this stuff good! I had a gift certificate to use and stopped by Everybody Eats for the first time on Saturday. I knew I was in for a treat when I tried a free sample of their sugar cookie and it was awesome. I went a little crazy and ordered the baguettes, banana bread, pumpkin ravioli, cinnamon buns, and bagels (everything thawed/ warmed great after being frozen). I would recommend all of it: the bread products are made with a great crust and are soft on the inside; none of that gummy, crumbly weirdness that usually happens with GF baked goods. The cinnamon buns were so good, my non-GF family ate them and loved them. The ravioli are seriously delicious. I can't wait to try more of the great products made by these folks! read more

As my friend having a gluten intolerance, he usually goes to this place to have some pastry from there. So once I decided to try it out with him. I always thought that gluten-free products are kind of mediocre and cannot be that much great. I was very surprised when I tried the products from this place. The owner could not have been nicer, and I was very excited to find a dedicated GF bakery, so I purchased a loaf of banana bread & the baguette bread. Unfortunately, the $12 banana bread was extremely dry & had a glob of baking soda or baking powder in the bottom corner of the loaf, unbeknownst to me, & I bit into it for a bitter surprise. I really wanted to give the food more stars but I don't think it would be accurate to do so. read more
