TERIYAKI PUN HERE + COBB YOUR ENTHUSIASM WRAP
    Breana L.

Stopped by to pick up lunch. My friend and I ordered the teriyaki warm bowl and Cobb wrap to share. Honestly I really liked the Cobb wrap despite the ingredients not really being distributed well, it still tasted pretty good, I would probably come by again for that if I was in a pinch. But the teriyaki bowl really let us down. The sauce was yummy but the rice was obviously undercooked and not fresh. The rice grains were still hard...

LIZARD IN MY SALAD! I am horrified, disgusted, and traumatized. Eating halfway through my salad, I found a dead blue-bellied LIZARD!! This is NOT OKAY! I have already filed a report to the WA department of health, but Evergreens needs to be held accountable for this. This should NOT have happened!

Super excited to have another healthy option in the SLU area for lunch time! This location is on the "Deck" below the Amazon SEA29 (Arizona) building and shares a space with Jujubeet and Li'l Woody's and is only open Monday through Friday 11am-6pm. They offer several Gluten Free and Vegan options. This location doesn't yet offer online ordering but I hope that they do in the future. I have only had a few different salads so far and they have been amazing! Regular size is more than enough for one person, but a large size would be good to save some for later. Ingredients are super fresh and local and there is an abundance of options to choose from if you want to add something to your Signature choice. I would highly recommend trying all of their dressings before you pick a favorite because they are all great- my favorite is the Lemon Vini (wow!) Oversized lettuce, uneven dressing, and ingredients laying on top are some of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to salad because it renders it nearly impossible to enjoy properly, so I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that they chop the lettuce and toss the dressing and ingredients for you. My favorites so far are the "Dice Dice, Baby" (warning: the Beechers Flagship Cheese is strong) and "Cobb Your Enthusiasm" with Pasta & Co. Big Blue dressing. You're going to like this place so you might as well sign up for their rewards program for next time.

Great salads - lots of variety and bold flavors. My favorite of the salad/bowl chains.

We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

Given today was National Sandwich Day, I decided it was a great day to check them out! The sandwich menu is vast, so I had a hard time deciding what to get. I went with the Reuben ($14.75) (as I read it is made w/ their house-made brisket) and then I also got the Sriracha Chicken Club Melt ($16.75), as it seemed to be popular per reviews. I placed the order online - which was convenient! I showed up a few min late but my order was not ready yet, which was no issue.. the lady working (Rebecca, I think) was apologetic and was hustling. It seemed busy with lots of phone calls and orders. I loved the Reuben - the meat was so tender and not too fatty (which I prefer). Perfect ratios of sauce, meat and bread and not too greasy! Loved it and would order it again for sure. The Sriracha chicken club melt was huge, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Not that I didn't like it, but it was just too large and messy and didn't wow me. Still, nothing wrong with it per se. Besides the sandwiches, they also sell other things they make such as bread pudding, mac and cheese, quiche, etc. which you can see in the glass case. They also have soups, too. Besides the food they make, this is also a market, so they sell beer/wine, chips, hot sauce, and some other items. There is also a small seating area so it is possible to eat-in. I look forward to trying other sandwiches next time - hopefully the breakfast sandwich or the meatloaf one!

Oh, and a vodka lemonade - you can get cocktails delivered via DoorDash! Everything was super good, especially the chili cheese dog. They were really generous with the chili (a full cup of it) and it was delicious. The lemonade is made from scratch and I really enjoyed that, as well - not too sweet. When we did takeout, we each got a sandwich, and we also got a Chicago dog, "chum bucket" w/ tots, and a handful of cocktails. I'd had kind of a bad week and was basically like, I don't even care, let's just get whatever we want even if it's an insane amount of stuff, haha. They do single serving craft cocktails for takeout in little cans, which is pretty cool. And they were SO GOOD (all with very clever nautical-themed names). I think our favorite was the "No Ship Sherlock" seasonal Moscow mule. The Chicago dog was amazing - based on this and my previous chili cheese dog, I can say without hesitation that their hotdogs are 100% 10/10. The "chum bucket" tots were also really good, and again came with a very generous full cup of chili. I hate to say it because everything else was so good, but the sandwiches were pretty disappointing for the price, we both thought. I had a tuna sandwich and my bf had a veggie sandwich. They used fresh, quality ingredients, but both sandwiches were kind of bland, and a lot smaller than we were expecting for $14 apiece. That's the only reason I dropped a star, but aside from that, they are 5 star all the way. So, we would not revisit the sandwiches, but hotdogs and cocktails HELL YES YES YES!! Anything involving the chili is also highly recommended. And although I didn't really go into detail about it, chicken tenders were good, too (there were more in there than what the photo shows) - crispy and well-seasoned, and more than what I was expecting.
