The Alfredo was just cream- couldn't taste any cheese or garlic or anything aside from cream. The pasta was also mushy the dish was cold. Idk if they were in a hurry or what. The spaghetti and meat balls we're also terrible the meat balls we're very over cooked and tasted like beans? Again our server was amazing. The restaurant was also freezing cold. It's unfortunate we've been coming to this place 15+ years it's always our go to on our way into anchorage. Evangelo's in Palmer is absolutely worth the drive from Anchorage especially for their seafood arabiata, it's that good! The dish is one of my favorites packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. I also tried their chicken wings tossed in buffalo sauce and crab arthichoke dip with bruschetta bread for appetizer they were excellent too. First visit for us as a couple as we celebrate a belated anniversary (57th) and Valentine's Day. My wife had been one time before with our oldest son before we moved to the Valley. She had been nagging me to bring her back because she enjoyed her meal. They had a Special Valentine's Day Celebration menu with dinner and Special Cocktails. My wife chose the 9oz Filet Mignon from the Valentines menu and I choose the Seafood Arabitta from the regular dinner menu. We started with the stuffed mushrooms appetizer with white wine cream sauce stuffed with lobster and crab. There were six covered in the sauce. They tasted amazing and may be the best I have ever had. The filling was flavorful and just the right consistency. The filling was full of the seafood with just enough binder to have a light flavor but didn't overwhelm the sauce. My wife chose a dinner salad with oil and red wine vinegar. The salad was ample with fresh lettuce, onions, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber slices and black olives. The dressing came in a carrier so she could add as much or as little to her taste. I had a cup of the house minestrone soup which was served hot, well prepared and tasty. It has generous portions of vegetables, white and kidney beans, and pasta that was partially blended and simmered until the flavors blended. It was appropriately spiced expertly done. My wife's dinner entree had a filet cooked medium rare and seasoned. It was tender and juicy. It was accompanied by a large baked potato seasoned with butter and sour cream in packets. On top of the filet was a portion of well cooked and seasoned asparagus. Additionally it included steamed cauliflower, carrots and broccoli. All the vegetables were cooked very well and tasty. My seafood pasta dish came in a pasta bowl covered with sauce and containing fettuccine, several large shrimp, large scallops and fresh mushrooms and a side of garlic bread. The pasta and sauce were well cooked and seasoned and spicy. The menu warned that two of the dinners were hot and spicy. I found it moderately spicy but the waitress had brought jars of crushed red pepper and cheese to add as you desired. The fettuccine was cooked to perfection and 18" long. I found that even with the spoon provided it was difficult to twill in mouthfuls and ended up cutting it my knife. That's not a criticism or bad thing but a sign of excellent pasta possibly house made. It was very good. Another plus is the shrimp were larger than normally found in such dishes and tailless. I dislike when the shrimp have tails on and you have to try to remove the sauce covered shrimp before eating. The difference in price and quality between tail-on shrimp and tail-off is minimal for avoiding the messy removal in a cooked dish. Also both the Shrimp and Sea Scallops were large enough that I had to cut them with my knife to make a reasonable fork full width the pasta. I don't remember ever having to do that before so it of the highest compliment I can give to this restaurant and Chef. Overall everything that we were served tonight was of excellent quality, flavor, quantity and preparation. It was equal to the outstanding service by Heidi W and her male assistant. We seated by a hostess and very shortly greeted by our waitress Heidi. She was friendly and helpful and offered our drinks which she promptly served after she brought us ice water. She took our appetizer and dinners orders. From the point she served or water and drinks our glasses were never empty. She repeated observed our glasses and promptly asked if we wanted refills. She served our appetizer, then our soup and salad just as we finished the appetizer. When we finished our soup and salad she promptly served our main course. Between each course our dishes were cleared and condiments changed. When we showed signs of being full her assistant asked if we needed go boxes and then offered to take our plates and return with the filled boxes and a bag to carry them in without our asking. I can only evaluate our wait staff as outstanding and the best I have had in several years. I know this evaluation is long but I feel that I had to give as good an evaluation as the service and food earned. I have eaten in a few five star restaurants around the world in my fifty years of travel but never expected this quality in Wasilla, AK. There are very few restaurants in Alaska that compare to here. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants an outstanding experience at a reasonable moderate price. They accept reservations and I would recommend them on weekends and holidays. Allow you can be accommodated without them. They have a large dining area and parking lot. Full bar, wine take out service and especially for take out of their pizza which we observed several being picked up. Sadly they do not offer a senior or military discount but that is not unusual for restaurants of this quality. read more

***PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES BEWARE*** I called ahead to place a reservation for 8. They didn't seem to be very prepared, regardless of the reservation. We were seated by the manager. It took 20 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us, ONLY AFTER my husband went to the manager to request our waitress come to our table. We immediately ordered our drinks, appetizers, and food. An hour 20 later AND AFTER THE RESTAURANT WAS ALREADY CLOSED, we had went to the manager TWICE explaining if our food did not come out quickly we would just leave. The manager then meets me in the hallway and says the food is coming out. I had explained to the waitress THREE TIMES I have a SEVERE allergy to wine, as in anaphylaxis and could literally die. My food comes out with wine sauce on it. She takes my food away and doesn't say anything. My mom's chicken was extremely dry and cold. My husband's pasta had raw onions and was cold. My father in law's salad came out with his entree. And my mother in law's potatoes and broccoli were ice cold to the touch. When we explained this to the manager he said to leave with a smile. We ate here two different times during our recent trip. Sadly, I cannot recommend the waiter, Max. Both times he completely ignored us, and then when he finally came over both times, he told us "I didn't realize you were my table." Interestingly, enough, he had every table in that section so I don't know how he did not know we were his! And yes, I worked in Restaurant when I was younger, so I do realize how the seating works. First visit there I got the tempura fried shrimp, which was very good. My husband got the Diablo seafood pasta dish, which was very spicy as noted. Please avoid the overcooked burnt garlic bread that is dry as can be. Our second visit, my husband got the chicken breast dinner and I got a pizza which was magnificent I ordered garlic/meat pizza. Please note that the small pizza had over 50 whole cloves of garlic on it. The bacon, unfortunately was pre-cooked and then reheated in the oven which burned every piece of bacon. My husband and I came in around 8:00pm for date night and I ordered the manicotti and he ordered the special of the day which was steak Alfredo. His Alfredo had a bit of a lemony zing which made me think it was more of a lemon Alfredo, but regardless it was delicious! My manicotti was a bit dry, but the flavor was wonderful! The service was a little rough, our waitress came to take our orders and we didn't see her again until we had to ask another waitress to order dessert. Our original waitress brought the dessert and we got the check and paid while we tried to enjoy our dessert. It became a bit awkward when we were finishing our dessert just before 9 (when they close) and all of a sudden, one of my managers had her coat on, came and saw we were still at the table, then dimmed the lights on us. We felt very rushed and awkward so we hurried to finish eating and then got our stuff and left. The food pretty good their pizzas better than most restaurants little on the expensive side for some things, but besides that I would recommend them to others, but the service is a little slow, but not bad. The food is excellent and always consistent. The service has always been great and thankfully we haven't had to wait long EVER to be seated and for our take outs. The seafood stuffed halibut is...my Fave!!! It seriously is a sooo goood! I order it every time, but when I have been basically seafood out from eating seafood all throughout the week..their steaks are perfect too! The portions are generous, always having to pack it up..bonus- leftovers for later (yasss). The steaks are hefty and the temp is always spot on. Both of the sauces that you could add with the steaks are amazing..highly recommended! The kids love the fettuccine Alfredo and the manicotti! Anything with the word Neptune on the menu..is delish as well! All of the appetizers we devour in seconds..mmm. All of the food is amazing! Even the pizza! Service has always been pleasant for us. We would always get the same waitress..I believe she's Russian..but she's always been the best! We light up when she waits on us lol..I know..I'm such a weirdo like that. Makes me feel important because she remembers us ( not sure if that's a good thing..but I feel special every time). Though, last night we had someone different and service was sloooow. I was one one the last people in the restaurant on a Sunday night but they didn't rush me at all. The portions here are huge some go hungry or be prepared to take food home. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I've tried the chicken parm, chicken Alfredo, and grilled chicken, all of which were good. The menu is mostly Italian-American classics. Selling a gift card to a customer calling by phone is the easiest money making grab for a restaurant... one would think. I called to get an idea of menu pricing and said I would call right back to purchase a gift card once I settled on an amount. Not only did the girl not answer the phone the second time, but I waited on hold for over five minutes. Having worked in a restaurant, I know a 5 minute hold is unusual, so I hung up and called back. This time, my call was immediately sent to hold. After another few minutes of hold, I called again just to test my theory - sent directly to hold again. I am extremely polite person so there was absolutely no need for these types of phone games. They must not need the business, so I will be purchasing a gift card at another Wasilla restaurant at this point, as I don't want to send my sister to an establishment that has such rude "service." read more

Life has been busy and crazy so I've been doing a lot of take out. We were in the mood for Italian or Pho. All the places we called were an hour wait for food or an hour and half to deliver. Then we called Evangelo's. We were outside their delivery radius, but they said the food would be ready in 20 minutes. And you know what, IT WAS! I was there in exactly 20 mins and it was piping hot and ready to go! And the place was packed! Food: Let's talk about portions on the Greek salad. When I arrived home, I took out a bowl and filled it to the brim. See my picture to see what the salad looked like AFTER! It looks like it wasn't even eaten. Fettuccine Alfredo was a little bland. The noodles were cooked al dents and covered with a good mix of sauce. Maybe Olive Garden has ruined me. The fried zucchini had a crunchy outside and the soft middle. I wouldn't say it was anything crazy, but it wasn't salty and it went well with the ranch. Service: My entire take out experience was awesome. I was greeted and personally attended to when I arrived. A reliable go to in the valley!! I have been here numerous times for work events, celebrations, and with friends from out of state. I have also gotten their items delivered too. Each & every time I have loved the food SO MUCH. My absolute favorite meal is the Seafood Au Gratin! You get so much food for a great price & I always have left overs to take home after. The flavor is amazing & I have ordered it 90% of the time I have been there! I also have enjoyed their pizza, deep fried raviolis, seafood stuffed mushrooms, and prime rib sandwich, all of which I would recommend! Decor is fancy vintage Italian. You expect to see Johnny Fontain singing and Michael Corleone having dinner. Everything is clean and tastefully done but it has that vintage Italian feel like an upscale restaurant in Palermo. Since we are visiting Alaska and love seafood, it had to be Halibut. We got the grilled halibut with vegetables and halibut stuffed with seafood. Either of these dishes in Seattle would have cost at lest 1/3 more expensive and had half the fish. The salad was very nice and dressing served on the side in a small gravy boat. The Kalua chocolate cake was memorable and we shared it. Service was excellent. Wine was reasonably priced in the $7-10 a glass range. Broccoli was perfectly cooked but the carrots were a bit underdone (crunchy). the Mayor of Wasilla was dining at the next table.
