This was interesting. Very very pricey for the type of place this is! Just know that the food is VERY sharable so consider that if going with family or friends! The sides, sauces, drinks, etc all cost a lot extra! For my husband, myself and our daughter, our total was $57!!!!!! That was just for our sandwiches, chicken tenders, 3 simple sides, 2 fountain drinks and 1 little sauce that they charged us for instead of giving us one for my daughters chicken tenders...and my husband even omitted the coleslaw from his chicken sandwich (which they forgot to make without, although they did fix it quickly). The truffle chicken sandwich was super good...probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had, so that was the redeeming thing about the whole experience honestly! The Mac and cheese and wedge fries were just alright for the money...a little bit bland.
The atmosphere inside of the restaurant was kind of awkward because it's incredibly bright from all the overhead fluorescent lights and there's no music playing or anything! The artwork and decor are very cool but the lighting and lack of any music makes it feel disjointed and like it just doesn't match the vibes of the art and decor... no music is definitely a missed opportunity for a more enjoyable atmosphere in there for sure. Doesn't have to be loud but just something to break up the awkward vibes in there please! It especially gets more awkward when you hear the manager sounding annoyed about various things towards the staff...this could explain why the staff was a little cold and not super friendly. When people would walk in and go to the counter to order, the cashier would very plainly say, "What can I do for you?" Instead of something a little warmer or friendlier like a "Hi, how are you!" or "How can I help you?" or "What can I get you today?" or "Do you have any questions at all?"...Just super awkward. No other way to say it!
Then, I observed there was literally never a, "thank you...goodbye!" when people left! Maybe it's different depending on the day and staff working! I know you absolutely have to give people grace but the restaurant business is extremely competitive and saturated ...especially in this area ... good customer service goes a long way! I know I can tell you after spending nearly $60 we didn't feel valued as customers or like they'd care if we returned - it was robotic. I felt like a number and that was the vibe I got with every costumer that walked in that place the night we were there. This is why places like Chic-fil-a and Culver's do as well as they do...because they make great food, don't charge AS MUCH and their customer service is light years better.
Again, the truffle chicken sandwich I would order again and recommend (I did it medium and they seasoned it perfectly!) but I'd get it to-go instead of staying there to eat it because I wouldn't want to have the same experience eating there as we did last time!
This place COULD do well in PBurg but as it is, I think if they don't modify a few things I don't know how this place will last because of everything mentioned above, especially with all the competition and better prices and costumer service in the area! I mean no ill will...I truly hope this does well as they gain more of their footing in the area. read more
