It was a Sunday late morning, so we expected a bit of a wait--but it was only about 10 minutes, and absolutely worth it. What a gem in Perrysburg!! I was immediately greeted, seated, and caffeinated. I ordered a quick and easy breakfast of scrambled eggs and an English muffin ~ they were prepared perfectly. I had the Potato Ball Benny and it was scrumptious. My only issue was that the ham with it was basically thinly sliced deli ham when I was expecting a nice thick piece of breakfast ham. I also ordered toast with it, but it took forever to get the toast. The waitress was nice but not super attentive and u sat at the counter to make it a little easier since it was just me. This place I've only been to once so perhaps take it with a grain of salt. It is a very nice restaurant inside. I was seated at the bar and had a great server. I did have to wait for my check for a long time and felt awkward, but otherwise it was fine. I was told they were well known for their cinnamon rolls so I got one. The problem? I did not like it. The color was so light, so it didn't look like your typical roll. There just wasn't as much flavor or frosting that I prefer. For my main meal I got the bagel and lox. For the price, I don't think I got a fair amount. It tasted fine but nothing amazing *shrug* I've had better lox. But at the same time, few places serve bagel and lox so I'm happy at least they have it. I may have to try this place again. read more

I'm torn on this one, so they get a mid-level review (given it's a family run business and I want to root for the little guys, I'm giving them benefit of the doubt that the service isn't always so bad) My corned beef sandwich was very good. My nan and hummus was fair. (Nan was flavorless and a bit dry). The service was slow today- I think it was mistakes coming out of the kitchen. The person that seated us was cold and unfriendly, however the waitress was amazing. Eggs, hashbrown average but the potato balls were delicious. We also ordered a cinnamon roll and it was probably 7-8" across! The pastry was light and fluffy and not over the top sweet. And I had no clue what pulled bacon was, but it was quite good. Unfortunately the espresso machine was broken so no latte, but, the drip coffee was quite good and didn't taste disgusting when cold. You coffee drinkers know what I mean. If you use Splenda like me bring your own, as they don't have any. Overall, nice atmosphere and good food. read more

The most lowest poor graded food imaginable!! My eggs over medium were raw, the frozen cut-open-with-a-knife hash browns were under cooked and cold, the pulled pork was smashed like a thinner than thin pancake and grilled until it was charred and of course cold!!! The orange juice is not real it came out of a soda machine and the worst was the cook...the entire time I was there he was cooking with one hand while talking into his iPhone speaker. He then walked outside... still on phone and then came back inside still on phone and went back to cooking food one handed! One server was spreading cream cheese on her bagel at the bar and eating it while drinking her beverage. There was absolutely no sanitizing of staff anywhere!! Cute place, easy parking in the lot behind the restaurant with a entry from there. The front of the business is on a busy street. Service was quick & friendly. I like how the restaurant is laid out, you can see their servers station & a big window into the kitchen, makes for no separation & nothing hiding behind walls! I did use the restroom & it was nice & clean. I ordered a croissant sandwich which was cheap & just enough food, I think it only cost $5.25. They have homemade pies & cheesecake on a classy pie wheel that spins around. Anywho back to the crossiant sandwich, it was ok, I would have loved some homemade jam, but instead they just have the little smuckers packs. This is based off two visits. It is a very quaint little place. It feels like you entered a little place in Vermont that is cozy even though it has a fair amount of seating. Its great that another non big chain place is in the area. The lunch I ate (Mediterranean platter) and the breakfast (omelette) were average at best but the coffee was pretty good. The breakfast morning was chaotic and I needed to ask if a name was required as staff worked frantically. The lunch was smoother seating but both times the staff seemed super busy and spoke so fast and was in such a hurry I almost felt guilty for being there. It made us uncomfortable and did not match the cozy physical environment. This seems like the type of place you want to be around forever, a go to type of place where you can just have coffee and talk or eat a meal. To be fair the place seems newer and may be working out the bugs. I may try again in 6 months if we need variety and see if the experience is better. read more

I came in with my girlfriend and I understand that we are a younger audience (M19, F18) and we arent known for tipping well. But that doesnt give you the right to ignore us after 20 min of waiting. I had to go up to a coffee barista to get drinks! When it came time to order she ignored us again, the table next to us had to stand up for us and say "they were here first". Which is embarrassing in its own right. (I gave my tip $10 to the coffee barista who helped us)They USED to be good but they havent even tried to uphold that title in about a year. We had brunch at Lamplighter on Sunday at 11am. We were promptly greeted by the host and seated within 5 minutes. The server, TJ, was attentive and friendly. He promptly brought drinks and took our order. I had the Admiral (crab cake) Benedict with potato balls instead of hash browns. The food was fresh and delicious. My husband has the Fort Meigs hash. Lamplighter has the best potato side, always fresh and homemade. Lamplighter is heads and shoulders above any of the other breakfast/ brunch options in Perrysburg. read more

I really like the environment, but food is not really that impressive. I got the farmers quiche, it tasted quite stale and the lettuce was old. The plate looked very unappetizing. I also got the lamplighter(I believe) the eggs were good, toast was wet and overall I didn't really enjoy my plate. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it for breakfast. The plates are definitely not worth the price. I am not going to address the service in this post as I really focus on food. read more

We haven't been to the Lamplight in many years. We moved. It was not in our normal travel patterns. We've been meaning to get back. And I'm glad we did. I remembered the sandwiches as good. The baked goods as excellent. We met our son for breakfast. Saturday morning and the restaurant was relatively filled. I had a ham and cheddar cheese omelette. Along with a cinnamon roll. The omelette was good. The cinnamon roll was well worth the visit. Excellent. And many other items in the baked goods case are begging another visit. We will be back. read more

I have not even had the food yet. I came in and placed a to go order at 7:30am on a Sunday. Ordered Avocado toast, French toast, oatmeal and a large coffee. I sat at the counter to wait. The same waitress that took my order proceeded to give the only other customer at the counter a refill in his coffee and then start chatting him up about the kind of shots she prefers. I had to interrupt her conversation to inquire if I had to go back to the coffee bar looking counter at the back of the restaurant to get my coffee. It had been about 5 minutes ( maybe less but at 7:30am on a Sunday morning it sure felt like 5 mins). By the way I was number two at the counter. I don't think I did anything to warrant this "I could give a **** if you are here". But it feels an awful lot like your not from around here are you.
