Came in while visiting my parents for the holiday. Love the Christmas decorations "It's a Wonderful Life" is a tradition in our household, so this was a nostalgic moment. I got the matcha with oat milk and the seasonal snickerdoodle flavor. SO GOOOOOOD!!! It was the perfect amount of sweet but not too much. I didn't get to grab any food but I'd drink that matcha latte again without hesitation. Service was warm and friendly as soon as I walked in and quick to deliver my drink. This was my second time in Chandler's Cafe. I love the location of this cafe, and the vibes are cute inside for sure. It is a great spot to meet up with someone or grab a quick bite, coffee or pastry but I would save your full/main course meal for somewhere else. Their menu is mostly salads/sandwiches and some all day breakfast items. If that is your thing, they definitely have some good options to choose from. They lose points from me with the portion sizes and prices. I personally feel that it is very expensive for the amount of food and customizations are pricey. The menu prices aren't posted on their website online and I wish they were. They have some fun coffee and drink options as well. They also have a pastry case of individually packaged items. The food is okay, very simple and nothing to ride home about or complain over but I do feel there are better options in the area to get a bang for your buck. Chandler's is a charming cafe and definitely a cute stop if you're in town. I do like that you order at the counter and the food is brought out to your table number rather than having a traditional waiter/waitress. read more

This place is such a great spot for a coffee, breakfast or lunch! They have a great menu with lots of choices so there's something for everyone. I ordered a lavender latte their half and half lunch dish with a signature salad and their chicken melt sandwich. Both were absolutely AMAZING! I'll have to keep this place in mind when I want to work from a cafe! The staff was really nice and helped me with my order. The place was clean and had a station for napkins, additions for your coffee and condiments for your meal. Great spot! read more

Ordered a double cappuccino and Instead of the medium cup the girl behind the counter use a large cup...so basically a big glass of warm milk. NOT WHAT CAPPUCCION IS. I questioned the size of the cup but she told me it was the right size even though I held them side by side and there was clearly a difference. Has a drive-through and great European coffees & teas and really good breakfast sandwiches for on the go! Good food but expensive. I've been there twice and they have good business and seems like a locally owned business.

I went in here ordering a sandwich with a few things off of it. The manager (I think) with dark brown hair working this morning at 8:30 was extremely rude. She had made my order wrong so I came back to have it made again and I offered for them to take the first sandwich back. She tried to act like I was just trying to get another free sandwich when she had made it wrong and argued with me at the window. Worst customer service ever when they were in the wrong. She did end up taking the first sandwich back and realized she was the one who messed up and was still so rude after that. Very disappointing. read more

Feel free to come thirsty, but skip the food! The food is average at best, with pricing that is more exceptional than the menu. They do have good coffee, but a 10.00 tiny ceasar salad with a minute amount of chicken is a no go for me. I frequently pull through for espresso, but I've given up on their food due to pricing, portions, and poor quality. A lot of their items seem to be premade, and their soups lack any flavor. It's a cutesy little spot for coffee/tea/meeting up with friends, but don't come hungry. the only item I had that was "decent" was a breakfast sandwich, and even that was mediocre. read more

This place suits sylvania really well. It's a little pricy but I love being able to walk around downtown and stopping in to grab a coffee. I love their outdoor seating but the indoor dining area is really nice too! This is a great place to catch up with friends, study or even have a business meeting. The baristas are really knowledgeable and friendly. I asked about a London fog which isn't on the menu and the staff was happy to make it for me! Saying that "if the other baristas didn't know how to make it, they'd look it up online to make sure it's just right"!! Not only was it tasty, but I really appreciated their "if we don't know how, we'll learn" attitude. Most places will simply leave it at "we don't offer that" (I'm looking at you, big chain coffee shops). Great team, great leadership, great food/drinks!! read more

I'm very hopeful Chandler will continue to be successful: The food here is tasty, the decor and atmosphere are lovely, and the staff is warm and friendly. They also earn an extra point for being locally owned, which is a rarity these days. However, the coffee isn't especially notable (it's not to my taste, in any case), and if you want to hang out a bit and get some work done while you wait for the library to open, forget it. They don't offer wifi, referring you to the city's free downtown wifi instead. That would be fine if they boosted the signal with an access point, but they don't, and the tin ceiling means you have to get a seat by the window to even hope to get a signal, which is weak. Bonus: when the delivery truck shows up out front in the morning, what little wifi is there gets blocked. I thoroughly enjoyed my artichoke & spinach quiche this morning. The quiche is served in a little muffin like paper cup, versus the traditional slice and when if first came out I thought it looked a little small. In this case, appearances can be deceiving as it was the perfect amount of food. Delicious and seasoned perfectly with a lovely crispy and flaky crust. The atmosphere is generic enough, that if my kidnappers threw me out of a van and I landed in Chandler Cafe, I would have no idea what city I was in. The color palate, and coffee themed art on the walls are so familiar that my first visit didn't feel like my first visit. It's quaint, very safe & suburban... but in the best way possible. Chandler Cafe is a perfect business for precious downtown Sylvania and if I lived nearby I would visit often. It's hours later and I want another piece of that darn quiche. read more

I visited chandlers today and was very disappointed. I found a hair in my food and this is the third time that it has happened since I've been going there. I usually only get a couple items and it seems like I'm always standing there for longer than I should be while a group of girls are standing around talking and randomly looking over at me standing there. I really want to not like Chandlers because to me walking in there I always notice one of the complaints many have about downtown Sylvania - it caters to Desperate Housewives wannabes that make me cringe to have to overhear their ridiculous self important conversations. That said, you should go despite their customers! Chandlers really does have some great food and I continue to be impressed each time I go. We brought a friend from out of town and she kept raving that the Greek Salad was the best salad she's ever had. This seems like the only locally owned coffee shop around the area. The coffee shop looks spacious and the baristas were friendly enough. I stopped by for some much needed coffee before heading to the library across the street. If they want to call themselves a "Cafe," at least serve better coffee than Seattle Best, which is pretty bad coffee. Note to the owner, ie Intelligentsia coffee would be appreciated thank you. Their dessert sections look delicious though. I grabbed a fruit and nut bar which was not too sweet and had the right amount of tartness. Haven't tried any of their sandwiches; my friend told me they were pretty decent. My bar and medium coffee came out to be $5, which is kind of outrageous but expected. Don't think I will go back until they decide to get some better coffee selection. read more

I like the Chandler Cafe because of its central Sylvania location, and usually laid back vibe. I have only been here on weekend mornings to work. My only gripe is that on some Sunday mornings they play the music a bit too loudly. I believe this is a condition of the youthful ladies working behind the counter. I guess this means I'm a grumpy old 36 year old, so I will stop griping, now. I've only eaten a couple of breakfast panini sandwiches during my times at the Chandler Cafe. The Pacesetter, and the Oleander. Both good, but not overly exciting. The are both thoroughly filling. I come for the coffee, and the atmosphere...as long as the atmosphere doesn't get too loud because I'm usually trying to get some work done. read more

I've been here once, looking for a good coffee house to study at. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed despite the great location in downtown Sylvania. First off, the coffee was definitely the downfall. I thought for a cute, charming coffee shop, the least they can offer is excellent coffee. However, my coffee came in a paper cup and was Seattle's Best, which is...not the best by any means. I did stay and grab lunch, which was perfectly fine. I had a salad but the sandwiches on the menu looked great too. Roast beef was ok. Thin for $8.00. Served as a Panini. Coffee was good, not great. Sugar free Vanilla Latte had lots of sweetness. The Americano was ok. The best thing was the gluten- free brownie/cookie. Very good for gluten free. All in all a little pricey $20 for 2 coffees, shared sandwich, shared GF treat. Still, a nice atmosphere. First time eating here even though I have lived in Sylvania for many years. We ordered quiche & a breakfast sandwich with coffee. The food was less than mediocre and the coffee Starbucks worthy. And for thirty bucks, you can do much better elsewhere. The atmosphere is very loud as the acoustics bounce off the walls, making it difficult to "chat" as they advertise. And if your looking for a glass of water with your meal, you will have to wait to get home for that. read more

I like their coffee and I have not been to Chandler cafe in a while. I walked in feeling great at the prospect of picking up one of my favorite coffees and I run into 4 employees looking stern faced, making eye contact but avoided to greet even at my faint smile attempt. All employees clustered in the far corner towards the kitchen behind the bar. They were gossiping and giggling for a good two minutes, even though they had all seen me at the counter. When one of them finally walked over, her greeting was cold and disinterested. I don't understand the attitude, I have never seen it before, I do not know what personnel changes have been made since my last visit, in the past everyone was cheerful and cordial. I understand it may have been a bad day or time (rude customers, arguments between employees ) but still, as a person who has worked as a barista for 5 years I was surprised by the poor customer service. I hope the owner sees this review and addresses the issue before it hurts the business. read more

I ordered a macchiato, which should just be foam and espresso. What I got was most similar to a latte with whipped cream and caramel. If I wanted that stuff I would have ordered it. Love. Chandler's is basic food well done with quality ingredients. Order the Mainstreet sandwich. It's made with homemade bread, shaved turkey (not deli meat crap) and has the finest of toppings. I love Chandler Cafe! Not only is their food incredible and savvy but the atmosphere is quaint and inviting. Its decorated in an elegant way and its food is nothing short of elegant!
