This was my first time stopping into Sweet Nate's Coffee and Cafe. WOW! I am so impressed. It is my hobby to sit in and go to all different cafes and coffee shops and this place will be one I see myself continuously going back to. We stopped in and everything was so nicely decorated, greeted cheerfully as soon as we entered and the menu was laid out very nicely on the wall with all the options. The barista was SO patient as my friend and I were a bit indecisive with this being our first time in and she answered any questions we had. We ended up getting the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte which was a special for the week and the cinnamon cubano cortado. Both tasted amazing and I appreciated that they had a counter set out where you could add additional cream, sugar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder (which you cannot find a lot of places)! The coffee was a bit pricier than what I was expecting but for the environment, service, people, and taste... WORTH IT! The seating is very homey - I have been to this location when it was a previous cafe and I absolutely love what Sweet Nate's has done with the space, and it felt so homey and welcoming. I regret not trying any of the breakfast sandwiches as I saw them being brought out to individuals and they looked amazing, so I can't wait to try one of their many options! - I love that they keep their Instagram up to date as well with the weekly specials and I hope they continue to do that. Anyway, if you are in in the Toledo area or just a quick drive away do not skip out on this hidden gem of a cafe. super friendly people, get it Togo or in a glass/mug, and enjoy feeling at home while being out. So glad to have this place and so excited they are open!

If you need an after work pick-me-up, OR, if you want to edge off after work, BHD has you covered! This place is both a coffee shop, and the "speakeasy." Want a coffee or tea drink, a bagel, a banana, or a bougie pastry? You can find these in the cafe. If you want an excellent, if not overpriced, cocktail? You can find it at the bottom of the spiral staircase, in the bar area. The area directly above the bar (up a few steps up from the cafe), is a nice seating area. The view, over the parking lot(s) of the river, is surprisingly scenic. Service: This is a weird one...on nearly every occasion that we've been here, the wife and I got strange vibes. The people behind the counter in the coffee shop seemed, for some reason, snobby and aloof. C'mon, girls, you're baristas, not prima ballerinas...Still, the service was at least fast and accurate. I like the atmosphere. From the comfy chairs in the cafe, to the "secret" back door of the speakeasy, this place is very cool. However, THE BAR NEEDS A FOOT RAIL! All in all, this is a very nice edition to the downtown coffee, and bar, scene.

After picking up lunch today, I realized I've never reviewed Adams Street Cafe, and honestly that's a huge miss on my part. I've probably eaten here once a week on average for years. It's so consistently delicious that I think I've underestimated just how important it is to the Toledo restaurant scene. The food is always excellent and clearly made from scratch. Nothing tastes premade or mass-produced. And the house-smoked meats? Absolute game changer. Even something as simple as a smoked turkey sandwich is completely next-level. Pro tip: order the Smoked Turkey Bacon Gouda -- it's unreal. The Bacon and Brie burger is another standout, and the daily specials are always worth checking out as they keep the menu fun and inventive. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you haven't been yet, you owe it to yourself to go try it.

Today, I tried something else that I unfortunately didn't love, so I'm rating it 4 stars. Today, I didn't place my to-go order ahead of time and instead walked in and sat at the counter and sipped on a diet pepsi while I waited. I would describe the decor as cozy, rustic farmhouse chic, with lots of pictures of pigs. I had time to take pics while I waited for my order. I stopped in a bit later than the usual lunch rush, so there was literally no one dining in. A couple of people came in to pick up their carryout orders. The server was very friendly and down to earth. I ordered the pepper smoked turkey sandwich based on some reviews that raved about it. Rather than chips or fries, I opted to upgrade to a slaw for $2 more. I couldn't wait to get back to the office and try the food. Before digging in, I took photos because everything looked delicious. The meal was top notch quality. The turkey was thickly sliced with artisan lettuce and a garlic aioli sauce, plus cheddar cheese. The bread was a tasty sour dough. I ordered it without onions because I didn't want onion breath. Despite the high quality ingredients, it somehow wasn't amazing. It was very good but I didn't taste the pepper flavor on the turkey. The slaw was a nice mixture of kale, cabbage and carrots. For my taste, the cream sauce was on the sweet side, whereas my preference is less sweet and more tangy. Nevertheless, the ingredients were very fresh. As I reached the bottom of the bowl, however, there was a lot of runny cream sauce. Again, my personal preference is for less cream; someone else might love it. I know it seems like I am being overly picky, but I should mention that the total cost of my lunch (before tip) was $18.75 (sandwich, slaw and diet pepsi that was a fountain drink with mostly ice). Yes, everything is expensive these days, but I couldn't help being disappointed. I would absolutely return and order the Turkey Reuben in a heartbeat but wouldn't order the pepper turkey sandwich, slaw or soda. I'd also recommend dining in the adorable restaurant rather than eating at an office desk with plastic utensils!
