Fresno Fig and Caesar salad
Bethany R.

Updated review, was very impressed by their lunch menu and specials! $14 lunch deal is hard to find at a fast food joint let alone a sit down like eureka. Service was fast and very friendly and we enjoyed our quick lunch of house burger, poke bowl, and because it was so cheap we did an appetizer and dessert! We will be back for lunch!

I gave the hubs an option of where he wanted to go for Father's Day and he said he'd always wanted to give this place a try. It wasn't too busy which was nice and unexpected. We were seated quickly although we were in the weirdest booth seat I've ever experienced. Our legs dangled like it was a high top table but in a booth. I would never want to be seated here again! After perusing the menu he decided to try the bacon jalapeño jam burger and I tried the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak burger. We also got the crispy glazed brussel sprouts and a wild child and IPA from the bar. Everything was delicious! Our server was nice and the food came out in a great amount of time. Although we weren't overwhelmed with the menu, I tried everything that stood out to me so unless I go back and eat the same thing, I'm not sure what else I'd try.

I came here for an end-of-the-year celebration after finally finishing grad school. The place was absolutely packed, and we had to wait about 40 minutes just to get a table. Honestly, I'm usually not one to wait that long for a meal, but the crowd might just be a testament to how popular this spot really is. The Build: For my celebratory meal, I ordered the Fresno Fig Burger. This one comes loaded with fig marmalade, melted goat cheese, bacon, tomato, red onion, arugula, and a spicy porter mustard. I paired it with a side of sweet potato fries. The Flavor Profile: The wait became a distant memory once I bit into the burger. The combination of the sweet fig marmalade and the rich, melted goat cheese was absolutely amazing, they complemented each other perfectly. It's a unique flavor profile that totally hits the spot. The Verdict: The single downside to this place is the crowd and the long wait time. However, the food itself completely delivers. If you have the patience for the line, or can catch them at an off-peak hour, the Fresno Fig burger is well worth trying!

Their food was really good! Their Ahi stack was one of my favorite foods to order at Eureka!. There services was also really good, but we were there during the afternoon which is when we usually go. It was nicely lit and i enjoyed their water they provided us even though I usually don't enjoy restaurant water.

Very solid choice while on the road downstate. The Fresno fig burger was a highlight -- if you love goat cheese, get it!!! Perfect balance with the salty, crispy bacon. Their sweet potato fries are also well-seasoned and addictive. Great service and lots of options for everyone in our family.

Quick review as it was my first time at Eureka and probably 6 or 7 years and today offered exceptional food for a burger spot but also offered top-tier service at Eureka! on Stockdale Highway! I'm pretty picky anyway and very picky about the type of ground beef I will eat so in this case I was of course hesitant on going but my daughter offered to pay so well you know, a free meal it's a free meal in most cases anyway , The burger I had at this place was pretty good not necessarily phenomenal but you can tell they were made with noticeably fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the fries are perfectly crisp and flavorful. Overall for free meal( my daughter paid for it) it was pretty dang good. I like the atmosphere in this place looks pretty chill as a bar and eatery and the outside patio is a really good looking area to eat and people watch. To top it off, Jerry provided outstanding customer service, taking over apparently for waitress who was too busy ignoring us in the first 2 minutes we were in there before he stepped up in the mostly empty section we were in, anyway back to Jerry--he was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and made the entire dining experience almost absolutely seamless.

Monday night dinner + happy hour was amazing! Service was great, and the weather was nice enough to sit at the outdoor patio. I ordered the Cobb salad and strawberry lychee martini -- and both were delicious. The portion was also well worth it. Would come back again to try their sandwiches and burgers!

Spa day magarita Hoppy Hour

We've been into Eureka! a few times because we usually end up hungry at the shopping center. The menu is very well balanced for many different tastes so I can always find something new to try with my dietary restrictions lol I'm sensitive and menu fear is real! The portions are good sized and I always leave full and satisfied. We have sat at the bar and the patio - both are really good options and the staff is all super nice and welcoming. We're not regulars, but they make us feel like we are and that will keep us coming back. I also recommend the spa day margarita because OMG it's so good and it's on the Hoppy Hour menu!

I had a Wonderful experience here! Food was top tier and everything came out hot and tasted so great. my party of 4 got seated quickly and was welcomed and served pretty fast. The atmosphere is nice and there's plenty of tvs to watch a game and enjoy the drinks and food

Open faced Eureka American burger with no bun on a bed of lettuce

My fiance and I don't frequent this restaurant often but I think that's going to change! We had a great Monday night dinner here with some family! The fried Mac and cheese balls are still a crowd favorite but we've discovered the fried pickles are a top contender as well! They are very crispy and not overly breaded. Our waitress was very attentive despite the restaurant being extremely crowded. We got a wild child pitcher and it was perfect for 3 to share throughout the evening. The cocktail was very fresh and bright not overly sweet. I love how the salted rim brings a kick to each sip! My favorite meal here is the American burger with no bun they can serve any burger this was over a bed of arugula or romaine. You really can't go wrong with any of their sides but right now I'm really liking the sweet potato fries! Next time I'm looking forward to trying something from the dessert menu!

So fresh and clear. Love filtered ice.

What a fun experience- I'm on town from out of state and of course your weather is always top conversation. We still accepted the dining in the patios it was wonderful with the breeze coming through and we were visited by my first experience of a road runner- I only have memories of the cartoon. Carmen was our server and she went over and beyond including offering us to change tables when another friend should up. I had just been released from the hospital ( emergency) if 4 days and she was able to get me a deconstructed poke bowl at my request. My daughter had the nachos which were delicious also. Definitely would recommend for fresh food and professional service. Great ambience!!

While not right off the 5, it didn't all that long to get to it either. And I would gladly add some travel time to have a breakfast like that again. I've never had Trout & Eggs. Toby was even saying that that dish seemed to be calling my name as Eggs in Purgatory seemed to be right up her alley. I love trout and I think sometimes I might love a good breakfast entree over a good dinner entree. And this breakfast was perfect. The trout was a chunky, flaky, and flavorful boy--much bigger than the portion I thought I would get. The eggs capitalized on being runny to make the hashbrowns shine. And I can't tell you how much I love having apple jelly for my sourdough toast. The server was great. She was super pleasant, even with showing up five minutes after they opened. I would be cranky if people were that hyper-vigilant of getting in first thing. But she was nothing but super helpful and professional. The ambiance was great. Everything a diner should be. The meal went off without a hitch and in a relaxed environment as all great meals should. As aforementioned, I know where I'm going when I'm taking another trip up to San Francisco. This place really shouldn't be missed.

This time I bought a couple of friends .This location has a large outdoor seating area that's great for warmer Bakersfield mornings, but we sat inside today, rainy cool weather and all.. I ordered the strawberry and cream pancake combo with eggs and bacon, along with the sausage and egg combo meal. Both made for a satisfying breakfast. And the light eater pancake, egg and bacon meal. The strawberry and cream pancakes with the anglaise were a very good. The flavor of the pancake batter the fresh strawberry compote and the anglaise. (Anglaise french for..A light, poured custard made from egg yolks, sugar, and warm milk/cream, typically flavored with vanilla and served with desserts ) Everything paired nicely without needing much else. (syrup, salt or hot sauce) the bad breakfat trifecta. Remember kids if you need all three of these things to make your breakfast better go to a better breakfast location ) The bacon had just the right amount of crispiness, and the over-medium eggs were cooked well, with runny, warm centers. 5 stars The sausage patties,a ,thick and tasty sausage mix. hash browns, and soft scrambled eggs in the other combo were a good combination. 5 stars And the light eaters meal consisting of a pancake bacon and an egg. Hit the spot and the light Eater of the group said these were the puffiest, fluffiest pancakes he had had in a long. 5 stars I also want to give a shout-out to the manager L.L. for her attention to detail. She was hands-on, making sure each plate met Old River Grill's standards, before bringing meals to the tables, and checking that customers were happy. 5 stars.. Overall, another good visit and a reminder of why I keep coming back. The Marketplace location is my new favorite location, but the Brimhall location and Riverlakes one come in close second, each location continues to make a good case for itself.

Absolutely unacceptable experience…read more I completely understand that accidents happen. When my server spilled a little of my drink on me while serving it, I didn't make a big deal about it. That was clearly an accident, and I understand that. But then she proceeded to spill an entire bowl of hot rice all over me. That is a completely different situation. Having hot food dumped onto you is not something a customer should simply be expected to shrug off. And somehow, the experience got even worse. They didn't even clean up the rice after it was spilled all over me. The rice was left on the floor for the rest of our meal. We were literally stepping on it throughout the rest of our dining experience. I shouldn't have to explain why leaving food all over the floor after it has been dumped onto a customer is unacceptable. What made the situation even more insulting was how it was handled when the bill came. My meal had not been comped at all. I asked if the meal could be taken off, and instead of simply acknowledging what happened and apologizing, my server immediately became defensive. She told me the food was temperature-controlled and therefore "wasn't too hot," and explained that my meal wasn't being comped because what happened was "an accident." That response was honestly unbelievable. Yes, spilling a drink is an accident. Spilling an entire bowl of hot food onto a paying customer and then minimizing the incident afterward is an entirely different matter. Whether the food was technically at a controlled temperature is beside the point. I was still covered in food, and then the food was left all over the floor around our table for the remainder of our meal. I was eventually told that the only thing they could offer was 50% off my meal--they supposedly couldn't comp it. After having an entire bowl of hot food spilled all over me, I expected at the very least some genuine accountability, an apology, and basic customer service. Instead, I felt like I was being inconvenienced for being upset about something that happened to me. Accidents happen. Poor customer service is a choice. The way this restaurant handled the entire situation was incredibly disappointing and disrespectful. The food could have been incredible, but the experience was completely ruined. Being covered in rice, having it left on the floor while we continued eating, and then being met with excuses rather than accountability is not what I consider acceptable restaurant service. Trash experience. I will not be returning. Save your money.

A Delicious Thank You to Teachers!…read more What an incredibly thoughtful way to give back to the community! One of our teachers at school entered a drawing for a free catered lunch from Locale Farm to Table, and we were so lucky to win! The drawing was the owner Heather's way of giving back and showing her appreciation for teachers. She was especially touched by our teacher's story, which made the win feel even more meaningful. Many of us who work at the school already dine at Locale and absolutely love the food, so we knew we were in for a treat. Heather brought some of their most popular dishes, including a hot honey goat cheese spread with Pyrenees bread, roasted butternut squash and Brussels sprouts, a fresh garden salad, and a chocolate and strawberry pastry for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! What really stood out, though, was how much thought Heather put into making sure everyone could enjoy the meal. She heard that we had some vegetarians among us and went above and beyond by preparing additional dishes without bacon so everyone had plenty to eat. That extra touch meant so much and really showed how genuinely caring and thoughtful she is. Having this incredible meal right before the first day of school was such a special treat. Teachers and school staff work incredibly hard, and feeling appreciated in such a generous way was truly wonderful. Thank you, Heather, for your generosity, kindness, and for supporting our school community! We are so grateful, and, of course, already looking forward to our next visit to Locale!
