The short rib has finally been ordered and let me tell you it doesn't disappoint. The short rib is fork tender and perfectly slow cooked to melt in your mouth. Sauce is very rustic and bold and exactly what you want with this dish. It absolutely hot the mark and then some. My 2nd favorite short rib of all time. Definitely worth every bite. Potatoes were not my style but still good, and carrots were cooked and caramelized perfectly. I would 1,000 percent order this again and again and again.

My friend and I spent a pleasant afternoon at Sonder recently. We went at around 2:30 in the afternoon. Perfect time for a friend meetup. It's quiet and peaceful, easy to chat without yelling. Jake was our outstanding server. He was so friendly and attentive. I love sitting on those lovely green sofas. I had the Lavender Lemon Drop Martini, Yum, my friend had glass of Cabernet. My companion ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce so rich and comforting. I had the seared Ahi appetizer. The interior is upscale industrial, very attractive. If you don't mind a fairly loud place during peak hours it's a nice environment for a date night. I've always experienced great service, delicious food and tasty libations here. Definitely check them out. I understand they are opening new locations. I'm looking forward to trying them in the near future.

Today we came here for brunch on our way out of town. Our Aunt said that she comes here all the time and even lives close enough to walk so she felt like it would be the perfect place to do brunch! I'm so glad we listened! Jacob was our server and he was so awesome! Honestly he was one of the kindest servers we have ever met very attentive and so just all around kind! He was attentive and helpful whenever we needed a refill or some extra syrup! Shout out to him for being amazing! The food was so good I ended up getting the French toast and it was thick, fluffy and so sweet! Yum! My husband got the biscuits and gravy and he was a little on the fence about it but was pleasantly surprised when he tasted it! I loved the vibe of this place and honestly everything about it! I would definitely come back and eat here again!

Sonder in Bakersfield is great local spot. Cool and relaxed vibe, great place to get together with friends. They even take reservations. Sometimes they have comedy shows; that sell out fast and look fun. We went for brunch on the weekend; menu isn't huge; but decent choices. I ordered the French toast; yum ; made my eyes jump out of their sockets. The fresh berries added a nice touch. I added a side order of sausage patties, so good. One of my friends and I did the unlimited mimosas ; I think it's around $30. Pineapple mimosa was definitely top winner. They bring you glasses of juice and the waitress comes around to refill your glasses with champagne, worth the price. This is definitely a good choice!

Beautiful decor & ambiance with comfy lounge areas and tables. Food is delicious with a variety of dishes on their menu. I recommend their Friday brunch menu & getting an espresso martini - it was well made! Their service could be improved as we waited a bit at each step of our experience. They also ran out of some menu items after ordering and our waitress was distracted when speaking with her. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with good food & delicious drinks.

My work held their Christmas party Friday night here at Sonder's. This was my first time eating there and I have to say, I really enjoyed the food. We had the entire patio reserved, it was cold, butvthey had several propane heaters going. As long as you bundled up, it was fine. My legs and feet stayed kind of cold but it wasnt too bad. They served a salad with sone sore of champagne dressing. It was really good. The onions were quite strong and the dressing was peppery. So if you didn't plan on kissing anyone and if you like black pepper, it was good. Theu also served mashed potatoes that looked like they were made with red potatoes. I didn't have any but they looked really good and my coworkers who had sone said they were good. And the green beans were super good too! They had diced tomatoes in them. Definitely need to find a recipe for that. Proteins where chicken and tri-tip. Both were really good. The chicken was nice and moist. The tri-tip was tender. Light seasonings but all really good. I definitely want to go back and see what else they offer.

It's a hidden gem in the Northwest Bakersfield. It has a cool European pub vibe. The server was surrounding sweet and helpful. The food come quickly. I hope you are hungry, because 2 of us could only eat half of the plate. I ordered the girlfriend burger, Wagyu patty with a surprise sweet sauce. Fatty, decadent, I devoured that delicious burger. My friends loved their bacon mac and cheese and beef stroganoff. Check out the photos. Also a cool place for a drink!

It's been years since we have been here. Love the changes to the dining room since we last visited. Warm and inviting. We were able to see Hillary who is always a joy. I'm sorry not to be able to thank our outstanding bartender, her name is slipping my mind . I'll update when I recall her name or find my receipt. Both ladies were welcoming and friendly. The drinks were excellent. I tried the Valentini and the watermelon margarita. For dinner we had the mussels and clams that were delicious. For garlic lovers like us the broth was outstanding paired with the toasted bread pieces to soak up the goodness. Also had the poutine. Rich flavorful gravy on top of fries, with cheese and shaved ribeye on top. We will be returning to try more of their menu items soon. Thank you Sonder for a wonderful date night out.

    Brussel Sprouts, Bruschetta, wings

We got the Lobster Ravioli, bone in ribeye, Beef Stroganoff, sonder wings, Bruschetta, Brussel Sprouts & Raspberry sorbet mimosa. We went in around 2pm on Tues. Our server was great & got us everything we needed or asked for. He gave us great suggestions and the food we had was very good. It was very relaxed inside.

I had the privilege of meeting a good friend here for lunch. It didn't disappoint. Service was great. She greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcomed even though I arrived before my friend. Once my friend arrived she checked on us but also gave us space to have a conversation. (Loved that) the inside is more like a friend's house and less like a restaurant. There was a dj who had the older folks shaking their buns from left to right. Also the sound sometimes fluctuates so it goes from you need to yell to speak to the person across from you to now the table can hear you conversation, rather quickly. Only issue I had, I asked for no pickles but I counted about 4. (2 on each half of my sandwich) aside from that I'm happy I came by!

This was my 3rd time here and unfortunately I've never had a good experience here. The wait time is always incredibly long. This last time we were there for 2.5 hours and not by choice. Our server was taking a very long time to take our drink and food order, and then it took about 45 minutes for them to get it out to us. This was on a Friday at about 1:30pm. It was a bit busy-- but not wait 45 minutes for your order busy. Additionally, we were sitting at the outside patio and our server was hardly coming out to check on us, so we finally went inside to ask for tab because we were tired of waiting. In regard to the food, the bruschetta was good, pretty standard. The bolognese pasta, however, had a weird taste in my opinion. Overall, disappointed in my experiences here.

Party for 2 then turned to 3. We were sat immediately and we were able to sit outside. It was a beautiful day. It was not to busy but we had someone kinda new. He did good. Friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. We also ordered some drinks. Drinks took a little longer to get to us but well worth it. They were tasty! We then ordered the pork belly tacos, the Philly Steak sandwich, and the shrimp tacos. My pork belly was delicious. The other guests loved their food as well. This is a return spot.they have live music. Wine Wednesday, bring your own bottles. The 1st is free then a $12 corkage fee after that. The place is clean and the restrooms were too.

    Berries and Bourbon. So yummy!
    Trish S.

Had another great meal here on a Monday evening. Brussels sprouts, pork belly tacos, fra Diavlo pasta special, all delicious with well balanced flavors. The Berries and Bourbon cocktail was so good we split 1 and ordered another.

Back in the day this location was once called The Office, so when businessmen were having a drink after a long day, they could call home and say "Hey Honey, I'm gonna be a little late, I'm still at The Office," and they wouldn't be lying. There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.

I've eaten at the Tennessee locations several times, and they've always had outstanding ribeyes, so I was excited to see how Cali did it. Because this review is epic (IMO) is wanna give a shoutout to Jacob one of the managers ,Daniel our server, Siera the Bartender and Danette also a Manager. When we walked in, one of the managers, Jacob, greeted and seated us, and he happened to be carrying a basket of those buttered rolls with that honey butter, to our table. My lady was definitely hangry, and I think he sensed it because he ensured we didn't have to wait to start eating. Jacob, thank you--I appreciated that more than you probably realized.. THE GRUB: Our first appetizer was the Rattlesnake Bites. They're fried balls filled with cheese and jalapeños. Flavor-wise, they were very tasty, but the texture just wasn't for me. I'd give them 2 out of 5 stars. The best way I can describe them is a ball of crispy crust filled with very soft, almost soupy cheese. Again, the flavor was great--I just expected a different texture. For our Mains my wife ordered the catfish with a loaded baked potato and a side salad. She loved it. She said the catfish was thick, meaty, and seasoned perfectly. The baked potato was cooked just right and topped with ,sour cream, bacon and cheddar, the salad was fresh, and she even commented on how the ranch dressing tasted homemade. Easy 5 out of 5 stars for the catfish plate. I ordered the full rack of ribs with loaded mashed potatoes, and we also got the loaded macaroni and cheese. Apparently, Texas Roadhouse really loves bacon and cheese... and so do I, so we were a perfect match! Everything was flavorful, comforting, and exactly what I was hoping for. 5/5 stars Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He offered great suggestions, kept my drink filled without me ever having to ask, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. He played a big part in making our first California visit a great one. I also want to recognize Danette, who I believe was the general manager--or at least she carried herself like the person who keeps everything running. She was warm, funny, and genuinely cared about our experience. When she learned we weren't crazy about the Rattlesnake Bites, she immediately removed them from our bill and even gave us a complimentary appetizer for our next visit. That level of customer service says a lot about how they value their guests, and how she wanted our experience to be just right. Finally, a shout-out to Siera the bartender. She was incredibly sweet, and we really enjoyed chatting with her. Honestly, we almost wished we'd sat at the bar, she had been by her lonesome the hour and ten minutes we were there. As we were leaving, she reminded us that we could take some of those delicious rolls home. Since we had ordered a meal for our youngest--who isn't a fan of ribs or catfish--we were excited for her to try the rolls too. It was such a thoughtful ending to an already wonderful interaction. Texas Roadhouse atmosphere and food absolutely delivered. Great food, outstanding service, and a team that genuinely cares about its guests. I visited The Vault for the first time with some friends during happy hour. The restaurant wasn't…read moreoverly busy when we arrived, and I really liked the unique bank-themed décor. A bank vault door was part of the decor, wallpaper featured people standing in line at a bank, the menu was designed like a newsletter, and the glass panels displayed the names of various historic banks. It was a fun and creative concept. Unfortunately, the service was a major disappointment. A waiter took our order promptly, but it took a very long time for our food to arrive. We could actually see our food sitting on the counter, yet no one brought it to our table. At some point, our original server ended his shift without letting us know, and we were left wondering what was happening with our order. After we flagged down another employee, someone else stepped in to help, but service remained extremely slow. We eventually had a third server bring our bill. To make matters worse, not all of our items were included on the check, so we had to point that out and wait for a corrected bill. I ordered the flatbread with mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions, and it was good. However, the poor service overshadowed the meal. Some of our group finished eating while others were still waiting for their food and drinks, which made for a frustrating dining experience. I'm not sure I'd go back any time soon. Maybe they need more time to work out the kinks and work on better service.
