Great Happy Hour prices. Half off Starters, Well drinks, House wine & Domestic beer. Rose & Kate were my very friendly & sweet servers today. Prompt service and pretty smiles, I can't say enough about how fabulous the staff is here! I love that even during Happy Hour sitting at the bar a cloth napkin is a placemat and you are given dinner flatware. It's busy & loud, as you would expect for Happy Hour. The crowd is friendly and relaxed to be at the end of their work day hanging out with friends. I ordered the house Cabernet & the Calamari Fritti. The Calamari had an ancho chili aioli and the nice surprise of fried onion & red peppers on a bed of shaved cabbage. Their Happy Hour offerings are a great way to have a tasty meal with cocktails at a reasonable price. Definitely a premium Happy Hour!

We got a gift card for Christmas. The husband and I finally had a way overdue date night. We walked in on a Saturday evening, pretty busy, and we did not even have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. The girl that sat us was super friendly, our waiter was awesome, and the girl who brought our food was great and funny! I got the chicken breasts with mushroom sauce, baked potato, fried green beans and a salad. The hubs got a steak, onion rings, si gratin potatoes, and their clam chowder. We also tried their stuffed mushrooms for a starter and WOW, they were delicious. We love visiting locally owned businesses and we will be back. Thanks for the great service and food!

It's been 30+ years since I was at a Hungry Hunter in the Bay Area. Pass this place over the years and decided to give them a try, as my granddaughter wanted a loaded baked potato. We were seated right away and really dug the steakhouse vibe. Ordered the... well, smoked Old Fashioned. Great presentation and very tasty! Got the early dining prime rib, with a loaded baked potato, fried green beans and spinach salad. While the prime rib could have been warmer, all was great. Server really bowed down to my needy granddaughter with lots of cherries and Shirley Temples. Will be back!

Came here recently after seeing their sign. Nostalgia beckons. I remember going to Hungry Hunter with the family when I was much younger. It was good food, food bread and I felt very grown up cutting into my own steak with the giant steak knife. Gone are the wagon wheels as decor these days and it felt much more upscale than what I remember. Wine list was quite respectable. Nothing exactly from the top shelf, but nothing from the bargain bin either. We opted for their "best in town" prime rib and they were flavorful and tender. Their table-side salad made me feel special. All the staff I encountered were all super friendly and very efficient. My water and beverage glasses were never dry.

The food was excellent and the customer service was fantastic. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The restaurant was very minimalistic and tastefully decorated. We had the pleasure of having Seth as our server. He was very attentive and often came back to check up on us to see if we needed anything. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, a cup of clam chowder, and a prime rib. Everything was delicious and the prime rib was cooked to a perfect medium rare.

We always dine here for their prime ribs whenever we're in the area. The prime ribs were juicy and tender, didn't come with huge chunks of fat like many other places. It's perfectly cooked to the temperature we asked for. It came with soup or salad plus two sides. We asked for baked potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. Wine options were good too; always ended up picking something from the manager's list. Service had been great when we dined here. Highly recommended if you're a fan of prime ribs - no doubt it's the best in town (not just saying it).

Nice restaurant, would be good for a date. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The food was delicious. My favorite is the prime rib, so tender and flavorful I didn't really touch the horse radish and other dip. The fruity blended cocktail: kiss on the lips (kiss my lips?) was refreshing. The bread was fresh and hot and that honey butter was delicious! It was sweet so I didn't want it before my meal. The kids corndog was fine the fresh grapes were good, the whiskey peppercorn steak was good too. The soup du jour was a minestrone and it was flavorful. The seasonal vegetables were boiled and the zucchini skin was a little bitter. The fried onion strings and green beans were good. Recommended!

We stopped by for lunch after getting gas from Costco. They had just opened, so we were seated right away. The hostess was friendly and the service throughout was great - our server was attentive and kept our waters topped off. My SO and I both ordered from the lunch menu. Prime Rib with salad, mashed potatoes, and au gratin. The sides were delicious - no complaints there! But the Prime Rib was a letdown - tough and lacking flavor. At over $30, we expected better. We ended up taking it home. Nice seating, good for groups, and plenty of parking. We'd come back for the sides and service - but probably skip the Prime Rib next time.

This steakhouse left me full, satisfied, and happy. Service was stellar from start to finish. We were consistently attended to and our server did an excellent job timing the courses. Dishes arrived promptly one after another. I found the entrées and salads to be well-executed, while the drinks were a bit weak and the sides unfortunately underwhelming. I came here to celebrate my birthday and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. Each entrée came with a choice of soup or salad and two sides. Even though we arrived shortly after opening, they had already run out of clam chowder. Bread: served warm with sweetened, whipped butter. Very reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory's beloved brown bread. Equally fresh, warm, and delicious. Kiss On The Lips: a frozen slushie made with peach, vodka, mango, and grenadine. It tasted like a peach ring candy. The mango flavor was faint and the alcohol was barely noticeable. Mini Babas: my favorite bite of the night. Four perfectly cooked medium-rare lamb medallions with smoky seasoning and creamy ranch dressing. No gaminess at all and the meat was naturally sweet and incredibly tender. Tableside Salad: served on a chilled plate with a great variety of fresh toppings including croutons, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cheese, pepperoncinis, chickpeas, and sunflower seeds. It was crisp, acidic, and balanced. Prime Rib: served with au jus and horseradish on the side. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and was tender, juicy, and evenly cooked. The au jus added a touch of saltiness, though it could have had a deeper beef flavor. The horseradish was very strong, practically overpowering. I chose onion rings and sweet potato fries for sides, but both were limp and lacking flavor. Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce: rich, savory, and full of umami. It leaned more toward a mushroomy flavor than peppery but paired wonderfully with the meat. New York Strip: juicy, meaty, and seasoned well. Also cooked to a perfect medium rare. So flavorful that no additional sauce was needed. Hungry Hunter Steakhouse truly shines with its proteins. The lamb was one of the best dishes I've ever had and is a must-try starter. The bread and salads were tasty and fresh, but the sides felt like basic, frozen afterthoughts. Still, this is a great spot to celebrate special occasions thanks to the excellent entrees and attentive service.

Interesting place, packed on a Tuesday night. Got there at 6 pm and got table within 10 minutes. The drinks were great. Ordered lamb chops called babas as appetizer, these were decent. Ordered 20 oz prime rib and asked if they can sear it as I like that flavor, these waitress said yes and it would happen on the grill. It was done in a pan and was nasty, not sure what they did to it. My wife got the Chateau filet, medium. It came rare, mashed potatoes cold and the plate disgusting! With that said, the place was packed, so maybe it was just us having a negative food experience.

We decided to come here and was glad we did. The waiter Javier was nice and attentive. Food was great! I love how the mushroom chicken was rich and creamy. The chicken was so tender and juicy and that mushroom cream sauce was mouth watering. Really nice, spacious layout.

It comes drenched in garlic butter and topped with Parmesan cheese. The French onion soup was divine. I had the yummy Lemon drop salmon with the house rice pilaf and sautéed fresh vegetables. One of my dining companions had the Ribeye with a loaded baked potato. Another had the Filet with bleu cheese & baked potato and lastly the scrumptious lamb lollipops. Another memorable dining experience. We ended the meal with their famous Malva cake. So moist, rich and delicious. If you've never had it, it's a must try.

H.I.T.A is BASICALLY HIDDEN in a Bakersfield historic alley, the outside is a bit sketchy at first but the atmosphere inside is intimate, dimly lit, and charming. What really elevates the entire experience is the amazing hospitality. The staff is highly attentive, and the head chef provided a wonderful personal touch, the head chef even came out of the kitchen to personally check on every table and with us he shared a story about the history of the place. The Grub: The Lamb Chop plate with rice pilaf and loaded baked potato the lamb was tender, the baked potato was well cooked the toppings were great, but the rice piilaf was mehhhhh, ( all in all the pilaf was dry and had no flavor,it was well cooked but flavorless) , next the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, which was exceptionally creamy, and the chicken on top was cooked juicy. My sis had the filet mignon which was cooked to absolute perfection, remarkably tender, and flavorful, similar to that of a real L.A. steakhouse (no picture because my bestie let me taste her filet)To finish your night, you have to order the warm, spongy, and gooey Malva pudding. WE SURE DID!! Definitely something different from any dessert we've ever had. My Take: Unlike the high-end restaurants in L.A. where you pay exorbitant prices for tiny portions, Horse in the Alley served us premium cuisine with generous portion sizes. H.I.T.A delivered a world-class dining experience and we walked way completely full and satisfied ,all at a fraction of the cost of a similar dinner in Los Angeles. Just make sure to get a reservation ahead of time!

There were 3 of us who had the Rodizio at the table, and they kept bringing us fried cheese, pineapple, and bacon. As far as sirloins, ribeyes, tri-tips, and lamb; they only brought those around once! And when my friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, wanted more lamb, asked for more, the waiter said they would bring it out and they never did. We were there for an entire hour before we left and they never brought out the lamb. Also, when we saw the people carrying the meats making their passes on the floor, they passed our table, multiple times. I don't know what happened, and why they kept skipping our table. But obviously they are trying to cut back on the red meats. I understand that the price of red meat is high, but also is that $70 Rodizio price tag. Not worth it to me. But hey to each their own. If you want all are vibes, lots of sides and very little actual red cuts, then this place is awesome. But if you want to be bombarded with delicious meats, then probably find another spot.
