Adon was my friendly and attentive server this evening. I ordered the Salmon Tropical Ceviche a combination of Salmon, mango, avocado, jalapeño, red onions cilantro served with blue tortilla chips. It was bright and citrusy with the sweetness of the mango to balance the flavors and a lovely creamy finish with the avocado. The jalapeños were perfect, just enough heat but not overpowering. I was very happy to pay only $10 for a glass of Justin Cabernet. They do not have an extensive wine list, but they do offer several tasty wines that will pair well with their menu items. No happy hour but they do have a daily special of a New York Steak with pasta and 2 drinks for $60. That's a pretty good deal as far as I'm concerned. Sadly they aren't open for lunches, although they open at 3:00 Saturdays & 2:00 Sundays. Plenty of TV's for those so inclined. Country music playing in the background. They also have a lovely patio. This place is beautiful . Super modern and reminds me of Tulum. We usually visit as a family with my toddler and staff has always been very welcoming (can be nerve wrecking because other restaurants usually give the side eye to children but not ritmo). We do choose to sit outside and that doesn't affect their service. Noel was our server this past Sunday and he was very attentive and kind. We ordered the porter house steak with garlic mashed potatoes and it was incredibly delicious. My son ordered the chicken alfredo an entree and almost finished it all because it was so dang good. He is a master at his craft and you can tell with every dish he pushes out. Steaks are amazing and the garlic lemon shrimp starts it one of the best. It is in a shopping center with parking spots so you don't have to parallel park. The service is good , they are pretty popular it seems and busy so it can be a little harder to get the servers attention but they do a good job. I've come here for other menu items before too and I've always liked the food. The bar tenders I've experienced were also very friendly. It has a modern aesthetic. We had a group of eight that were meeting at Ritmo Kitchen and Lounge before heading off to the Gaslight Melodrama for an evening of fun. We had never been to this place build as a kitchen and lounge. It has a nice interior and very comfortable feel to it. The service was awesome. My wife had an old-fashioned and let me know. It was very good. We split the salmon with mashed potatoes. The salmon was perfectly cooked and was a sizable cut. The mashed potatoes were hot and just the right consistency. The veggies, carrots, and broccoli, were not overcooked. Once our orders were in, the food came out very quickly. And though we were a large crowd, the service was very good. My husband ordered the ribeye. He really enjoyed his steak. Not so much the side of asparagus. It needed to be trimmed at the base. It was woody. I ordered the surf and turf. The shrimp was really well cooked, great seasoning, but not cleaned properly. The steak was okay. The mashed potatoes were very bland. I wish I'd had a little pile of finishing salt like my hubby had. It is really, really loud inside. More of a bar than a restaurant, but they don't list any prices for drinks. The high-top chairs are very uncomfortable if you have long legs. I felt like I was leaning forward the whole time. I know at least one other high-top table asked to be moved. Food is decent. Almost getting brained by a rogue golfball in the parking lot should have been a sign. First of all, I was so confused by the vibe. Passing through the velvet ropes to reach the front door shouted "exclusivity" while the interior was a mashup of country dive and fancy steakhouse. Between the paper napkins and the same wine glasses I got at the dollar tree, I was a little surprised to see a New York steak for $40. We were told there would be a wait for a table, despite it being virtually deserted, or we could sit at the high-top. I decided to get the Lemon Garlic Salmon this time around but when the hubs steak was dropped in front of him and I seen that butter melting on top, I sure was jealous. I had never been to Ritmo Kitchen and Lounge, but I was so surprised when my bestie pulled up and I saw the pink Ritmo sign glowing. I instantly got excited because I've seen so many IG posts hyping up their meats. When we arrived, the host was super kind and let us know it would be about a 45-minute wait. No biggie: we headed to the bar to soak in the atmosphere. The vibe here is like a Latino nightclub but with beautifully plated, elegant food. We ordered the Cadillac margarita and the truffle fries at the bar to start, and both were absolutely delicious. The fries were crunchy with the perfect garlic flavor, and the Cadillac margarita came with the cutest little bottle of Grand Marnier. Soon after, our host walked us to our table and took our order right away. Since the portions are huge, we decided to share. We went with the steak & mushroom truffle pasta and the lobster mac and cheese. The first piece of steak had a little too much sinew, so I wasn't impressed at first, but the second piece totally redeemed it; juicy, tender, and seasoned perfectly. The pasta was cooked just right and coated in a creamy Alfredo sauce. But the real star of the night was the lobster mac n cheese. It is so hard to find good lobster in Bakersfield, and this one was meaty and flavorful the Mac n cheese was cheesy, and felt like it was made with pure love. It made my heart, my tastebuds, and my stomach very, very happy. Overall, Ritmo definitely delivered on the hype, and I can't wait to come back preferably with my bestie it was definitely a wonderful experience that I would like to repeat. read more

We went here with friends on a suggestion from one of their friends. The velvet ropes outside the front door made me chuckle. It felt like a very poor effort to act like you have some sort of exclusivity. When you walk in the vibe is like a cheap dance hall that has been converted into a strange nightclub by a DIY person who doesn't know very much about decor or how to build it. The light-colored chairs are all dirty around the edges because white fabric is the worst choice you can make for something that everybody who enters your restaurant touches. The shiny tile floor feels cheap and low end. The mismatched wall decor and clashing lighting...it was all over the place. I ordered the steak and mushroom pasta and my wife ordered the salmon. The food was delicious, so that's definitely redeeming. Everything was prepared well and my wife and I had zero complaints about the dish. Lastly, the service was pretty good, albeit, a little unprofessional for the vibe they are attempting. "I got you" as an answer to a request feels like "walk up BBQ stand" communication. He was trying and doing well nonetheless. An undisclosed, 18% add on for a large party is absurd for a party of only six people. (I will admit that it may be in the menu but i didnt notice, nor think to check for a small party.) The service was great and I wanted to leave a decent tip for the kid but when I noticed the add on, I was immediately turned off. We basically added to it so the tip plus the fee was 20%. We've been here a few times now and needed to bump up the stars. The staff is so wonderfully warm, welcoming and helpful. They take the time to talk to you and interact with their customers like old friends even if it happens to be your first visit in. The food has remained flavorful, portions are good, and value and quality have not suffered. A new choice for us this trip was the shrimp skewer app to share. 12 (you read that right, 12 ). Slightly spicy but oh so good dry rub seasoning on the shrimp grilled beautifully and served with a charred lemon and sauce to dip. To round out our surf and turf meal selection, We had the ribeye with guacamole to share also with the blue corn chips. Both of us were full and happy and we didn't finish all of the guacamole hidden under the tender grilled ribeye bites. The green neon lights made our St Patrick's Day very festive indeed. My wife wanted to take me out for a nice dinner and we didnt want our usual go to spots. She found this and suggested we give it a try. I had seen it before and thought the prices were a bit steep, but I decided to roll with it. We walked into a half empty restaurant which felt like half restaurant have night club and were seated at the smallest table they could find, right under a ceiling fan that seemed to be on high. We decided on a flight of margaritas, and I chose the ribeye and she the filet. The flight of margaritas took up the entire middle of the table and were actually quite tasty but wouldn't pay $30 again for it. Our entrees came out pretty quick and they are served on large cutting boards which literally covered the entire table. We both enjoyed our steaks and asparagus. The extra $5 for the lobster mac was not worth it. My mashed potato's were decent. About half way through my steak I started feeling something cold dripping on my leg. Looked down to realize there was steak juice dripping off of the table and onto my pants and new boots. There was a very large crack in the cutting board that was covered by my steak which had allowed all of its juices to run out and down the table and onto my lap. Again we were cursing this small table they stuck us at. I pointed this out to our waitress and she said "oh yea, that happens, sorry about that". So they know this happens and they just keep doing it? And then you think you are at a nice steakhouse, paying $48+ per steak and then they give you some paper napkins and a piddly little fork? The food is a little bit pricey but it is definitely delicious and made with high quality ingredients. Drinks are also a bit pricey but well made. However, on my one and only visit the drinks were taking a very long time to be made and served to us. The bartender was alone and not the fastest bartender. To his credit, the house was packed with several large birthday groups, just like mine. So I don't fault them too much for that. Ambience is good and feels upscale. My nephew celebrated his 28th birthday and he was given several free shots of tequila, which was nice! I would definitely recommend this place for a nice steak. I had the Australian Wagyu steak with Mashed potatoes. It was superb!!! For appetizers we got a margherita pizza and the garlic shrimp scampi. I highly recommend the shrimp! Decided on a fairly new spot for a good steak. When we came at around 6:20pm on a Saturday night they weren't very busy. By the time we left around 7:45lm it had picked up a bit. The vibe is fairly modern-nothing like what we have experienced before in the sort of old Bakersfield settings like KC steakhouse and Horse in the alley. The decode and lighting is modern with high tables and also some comfier couch seating. They have a large bar that seemed popular as wells food came out quick. Our server, Sebastian, made the experience next level. He was extremely helpful with suggestions, friendly, and attentive. We go out to eat quite a bit and he gave the best service we've had in quite a while. The date night special included a steak and choice of pasta with two specialty cocktails (ask the server for details). We opted to add a lobster tail to our dinner for an additional $20 and it was well worth it! The lobster tail was flavorful and enough to share between the two of us. The steak was perfectly cooked, flavored well, and juicy. We chose the Chicken Alfredo, which had a rich creaminess. Love the suggestion of the Coco madness, and Sangria cocktails the cheesecake with raspberry drizzle was the perfect end to the meal. Overall, a wonderful experience. Visited yesterday evening for my sister's birthday. Was very excited to try a new restaurant and this restaurant exceeded every expectation. The appetizers, cocktails & drinks, and entree's all were amazing! I tried the salmon ceviche & ahi tuna guacamole stack appetizers and they were seasoned perfectly and extremely refreshing for the summer weather! I tried the watermelon margarita and margarita flight and I recommended all of these margaritas. I ordered the steak truffle entree yet when my son in law's meal arrived he wanted fettuccine noodles so I switched meals and had his chipotle shrimp pasta! Extremely flavorful! Perfect kick! I love the pasta noodles! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and were large sized shrimp. I brought a cake and they brought out a sparkler on top of her cake which was another surprise! Very disappointing experience. When we went to pay our bill, the server brought an iPad to the table and told us the total but never mentioned that an 18% gratuity was already included. Because of that, I added another 20% tip, assuming no tip had been added yet. They also did not give me a receipt. I had to ask for one, and it took about 20 minutes for them to finally bring it out. When I reviewed it, I realized I had left a $50 tip on a $100 bill because the automatic gratuity was never disclosed. This felt extremely misleading and unprofessional. The same thing happened to the four friends who were dining with us as well, so it clearly wasn't just a one-time mistake. Customers should be clearly told when gratuity is already included, and receipts should be provided immediately when paying. This experience left us feeling taken advantage of. read more

I'm almost reluctant to advertise this restaurant since I hate large crowds, but this place is amazing! Tucked in a small strip mall, you might be fooled by the interior decorations. They conceal the fact that this is a REAL steakhouse! The steaks are prime, hand cut, and grilled to perfection. My choice is almost always the filet mignon (medium rare) with truffle compound butter, grilled asparagus, and the rosemary truffle fries! They are served on a wooden cutting board with course salt. When they first opened, service was a little slow. It appears they resolved that (or maybe because we tend to go early) and service is exceptional. If you LOVE great steaks, give it a shot. read more

This place was not what we were expecting. Went for our anniversary to a 'fancy' steak house. It was not very fancy inside. Country music? Why? The steak was amazing, but the pasta and shrimp was nearly flavorless. There was one server/host, and one bartender when we arrived. There was only 4 couples in the restaurant, but it still took a very long time to get anything. Our food came out before our drinks, and the bartender keep get our orders wrong. Our second drink did not come till after we were done eating and it was wrong. I was surprised that one bartender was incapable of accurately serving drinks to like 10 people over the course of an hour. Our server worked his butt off, and was very nice. Young guy with a trendy hair cut. He deserves props because he was working the whole room. I wanted to give it more stars because the steak was so good and our server was so nice, but this place is not work the price tag. Side note: at some point another female server did arrive at work and 4 staff members congregated near the front and seemed to be having a disagreement.
