I tried Eureka years ago when it first opened and I had a bad experience, so I never returned. I'm a firm believer in always giving a restaurant a second chance. Friday night we decided to go out, and Eureka came to mind although hesitant , we decided to give it another try. Man ! What a waste of money , the experience was the same if not worse then the first time. The menu was limited due to the whole COVID thing , and they have an app you order from and about 15 minutes later the food comes to the table. The menu was mediocre, McDonald's has a bigger selection. We ordered drinks I was excited for the selections of whiskeys and bourbons and they had a tasting flight that I ordered. I was really disappointed with the out come the whiskeys were hot not even chilled at least throw an ice cube in it or bring out a side of ice and give the person the option of chilling it down. The food was okay I've had a better burger and fries at Habit. My wife had asked for a side of ketchup and the manager said he would bring it , and it never came looks like he forgot or something. She ended up throwing the rest of her fries away cause they only give a little side of ketchup for a bunch of fries , at least have some packets or something on the table. With Food and drinks the bill came out to 100 bucks , and with the whole online ordering a automatic 16% is added to your bill for gratuity smh. Overall it was a bad experience, and with those 100 bucks I should have gone and supported a local restaurant , lesson learned never again. If the food and experience is excellent I don't mind how much it is , but this experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. One star for this place only because I had too. read more

I haven't been here in a really long time and the last time I visited this place was right around the time it first opened and that's been quite some time now. So, after my son's HS graduation we were looking for a place to have dinner at because a lot of restaurants were already closed. We ended up choosing this spot and we were not disappointed. Our wait to be seated wasn't long at all, but when we were seated the server went MIA for a bit and when we finally ordered our food, everything came out delicious. The lady serving us was very professional and extremely nice and did her best to serve us since she was waiting on several tables at once. Everyone pretty much ate all their food and when we go out normally I have a lot of food to take home, but even I devoured the big giant burger that I ordered. Food is definitely good here. I wasn't a fan the first time I visited years ago, but they perfected their cooking and I'm impressed with it. I know this place is a chain; however, I've never been to any other Eureka Burger elsewhere so I'm only reviewing my experience at this restaurant only. I think I'll be back to give this place another shot since they know what they're doing here. The only downside is that it's pretty dark inside and I prefer more lighting when I eat. read more

During the holidays I had a major craving for Eureka's Gingerbread Man Old Fashioned. And folks, that's saying a lot from this Tito's loving lady. Whiskey is never my first choice... or second... or third. In fact, it's never a choice I willingly make. I'm sure some whiskey lover out there will be offended and try to persuade me differently, but I just don't love it like I do tequila, gin, vodka, and pretty much every other spirit out there. I realize there's a multitude of whiskey's with varying flavor profiles. And maybe one day I can open myself up to them. With that said, I was craving this Gingerbread OF. Strange! We attempted to make it out to Eureka between Christmas and New Years and finally found a night where the wait was minimal. Our entire experience, from beginning to end, was fantastic. We ordered appetizers which were half off during Happy Hour. This included the deviled eggs - which I loved. The bf disliked the heavy horseradish intensity. I didn't mind. We also ordered Falafel bites - something different than our typical go-to. These were surprisingly good and very filling. I'd definitely order this again - perfect for a summer snack. Hitting a streak of trying new things I opted for Butchers' Steak Dip Sandwich with a side of Chili. Strange side, yes. But I had been wanting to try their chili and found that this could be added as a side. The chili was phenomenal. Not at all similar to other chilis (vastly different than Sequoia Sandwich) this was slightly thinner, sweeter, and smokier. I'd definitely consider ordering a big bowl of Chili just for dinner. It's really wonderful. The steak dip was surprisingly good - no fatty bits and nothing tough. I ordered extra horseradish as a side and it made it perfect. Service was spot on. The bf and I were in no hurry and enjoyed our cocktail and time together so we didn't notice the delay from the kitchen. Our server kindly took off one of our appetizers without us asking. And even though this was only a few dollars, it went a long way for service. Oh and as for the Gingerbread OF - simply marvelous. It even comes with a gingerbread man ice cube. Seasonal AF. I often forget about Eureka! In fact, I had not been here in almost a year. On a recent visit suggested by someone I was meeting, I realized that they serve up some seriously good food! Had burgers and the Eureka! American was just about perfect. Also the Honey-Cinnamon Sweet Potato Fries are a refreshing version of a popular dish. I went back a week later and tried the Baja Fish Tacos and was pleased with the freshness and flavor of the fish. My companion tried the Industry Margarita and loved it. I ordered the 28 day aged Bone Marrow Burger and was very impressed! As you can see in my attached photos, there were a few negatives. First of all, the grilled onions they used were from the outer layer of the onion. So it was impossible to chew them. Second, the burger grilling technique was a bit amateurish. I suppose most wouldn't take the burger apart to see, but the sear was really weak on my burger. It would have tasted a lot better if they had gotten the grill hotter before placing it on. Other than that, the burger tasted really good! The flavors blend really well together. The mix of a thick patty, shiitake butter, bone marrow, grilled onions, roma tomato, and lemon horseradish sauce tasted quite great. I would definitely come back to try it again. I do hope that the poor sear and the hard onions were just a one time mistake. read more

It feels weird even saying burger because it is so much more upscale and 5 star restaurant food than just a burger. Back when we used to live in town- almost 10 years ago, we always liked this spot! They have tasty food, and my husband being a whisky drinker enjoys their selection of spirits. We popped in here after dinner for a drink and some dessert. We got lucky to find a spot at the bar instead of waiting. They did have the option to join their waitlist online while was cool. The bartenders were prompt in their attention and very friendly. We ordered a butterscotch pudding, whisky for my husband, and I ordered a tiki type drink. I can't remember the name, but it was the one with the two drink limit per customer lol it was really good and was very much like a mai tai. The pudding was similar to a crème brûlée. So we were driving through Bakersfield's and saw Eureka and figured we would give it a shot! Best decision! The inside is setup as casual modern pub. The we ordered the Mac and Cheese bites to start. I've been here twice. The burgers are fine. Supposedly their forte. The only real flaw was the amount of sodium. It's very salty in the burger. I've had the Eureka burger and the Bone marrow burger. These were cooked as ordered and were a decent quality beef. They are safe but lack dynamics/pop. Just a burger nothing special so for the price I hoped it would be more. I'd rather go to Woolworths for a plain burger. For a taste bud experience you won't forget, I'd suggest Moo Creamery as an alternative. Moo fries are salty but you can ask them to half the salt. read more

This place was pretty busy when we went for dinner on a Thursday evening. Thought there would be a little wait, but was seated immediately outside on the patio. It was a nice nite so sitting on the patio worked perfect. Server came over within a couple minutes took drink orders and was knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks they recommended were delicious - my other half got a draft beer and I got some drink that was pretty popular and sweet that our server recommended. It was a good recommendation and tasted sweet and refreshing. We started our meal with the chicken nachos appetizer ... they were good ... just wished there was more. Might be good there wasn't though ... to save more room for our actual meals. I got the bison burger with French fries ... bison was good; very lean ... a little dry... but the sautéed onion were good on top with melted cheese . My other half got the jalapeño burger with egg. He said the burger was juicy and the egg complimented it very well. We saved room for dessert .. the bourbon cake was very moist .. tasted a little like banana nut bread. Great vegetarian option Fish and chips- that batter... oh man, so good Service- 4 stars This is really a hit or miss. You have most waiters who are very attentive and ensure you have a great time. But you also have a few waiters who are stoned at work. Overall, the service has usually been more of a hit than a miss Value- 4 stars Compared to other restaurant bar groups, Eureka is slightly more expensive. But with the atmosphere, food, service, and wide selection of beers and whiskey, it's well worth the price.
