I was starting to have some wifi issues in my home. I have acquired a lot of devices such as…read morecameras, Firestick, doorbell, light bulbs, plugs, etc that uses the wifi to run. My last modem that I had gotten was back in COVID days. I had called the main number for COX who told me I could bring my modem into a store & trade it in. I had asked about just having a new one mailed to me as the COX that I had gone to before to trade one in was kinda far. The guy had told me he would check for stores near me as "they're always opening new ones." This store location is very close to my home so I was super excited when I found this out & decided I would just go over there & exchange my modem out. I did call first to make sure they had them in stock. I got to the store around 6pm & there was another customer inside who appeared to be finishing up. I walked in & saw an ipad up front & while looking @ it to see if I was suppose to sign in a guy had said "I can help you." I thought he was a customer waiting....lol Vinny was his name. He had asked me for my ID since my account is in my name, so make sure you bring an ID to prove who you are. He then pulled me up on his portable ipad & had an email sent to me that I had to open & give him the security code. I like that they make sure you are who you say you are, extra protection of your account. He then was looking over my existing plan & I told him I wanted a lower plan as one of my friends was paying less than me. Which he was able to get for me. I have a home phone that I rarely use (I know I'm old school...lol). I had gotten it back in my apartment days & carried it over when I started to rent the house I live in. It comes in handy when I have long conversations with friend's & family back home. Vinny introduced me to their Android cell phone for $19.99 total cost to pay & I own with a $9.99 one-time activation fee. He told me the monthly bill would be cheaper than what I'm paying for now with my home phone. Being a cell phone I will have unlimited usage on calls, texts, internet, etc. I thought this idea was cool & it will come in handy when I don't want to give my personal cell phone # out. I'll be big pimpin with 2 cell phones now....lol and I was able to keep my home phone number & have it transferred to this cell phone. They also have a deal going on temporarily, pending you have a good credit score where they will give you the Iphone 17 for free with you trading in your cell phone. They do have to do a "soft" credit check for this deal. I thought this was a great deal & Vinny had told me that Cox uses Verizon cell phone towers for their cell phone service. I'm currently a Verizon customer. I passed the credit check which I knew I would. He had to set up the Android phone for me between these two things I had almost forgot the main reason on why I was in there.....to get a current/new modem!!! Hahaha I was like "Vinny, don't let me leave without my new modem!!" So I finally get everything taken care of. I told Vinny I would review their cost of their cell phone service later & decide if I want to come back & get an Iphone on them (oh with a 2yr commitment btw). This location closes @ 7pm & I felt bad because I kept Vinny and another guy (? manager) there till 7:30pm while they were taking care of all this stuff for me. (Vinny was new & still learning the ropes) I have 15 days to return my old modem back to the store or I will be charged a $240 fee but I was told if I return it late & have been charged that they will remove that fee. It was easy to set up my modem once I got home but a PIB to go around & change all my wifi on my items & have to reconnect all the stuff. Vinny's co-worker (forgot his name) had shown me how to change my wifi name & password on the Cox app. which I ended up doing. I had no idea you could do that. You can learn a lot from the Cox guys!! lol This store is small, clean, neat & organized. They don't seem to carry many products at this location. I like that its close to home & that the staff was friendly.

Upon moving to apartment, I immediately sought a competitor. Anyone but Bel Air Internet Connect, or BAI connect. On top of constantly throttling internet or trying to say they were using a "dedicated connection." Tell that to my 12 mbps download speed through the month of January and February during peak hours. I work remote and require untapped and unfettered internet speeds, and consistency is what this provider lacks. On top of that, trying to get assistance with anything from anyone is like pulling teeth. Get Cox.

I needed to get existing DirecTV service reactivated for my Mom's move from an old unit to a new unit in the SAME apartment building and update her billing address. Simple, right? I first called DirecTV and after explaining this very simple request to DirecTV, I was transferred by DirecTV to Bel Air to handle this because I guess they outsource the service and support for the Las Vegas market to this failure of an outfit. The first Bel Air guy (Vince) was new or incompetent or both. After 50 minutes on the phone, he transferred me to the Billing dept. to update her address (literally a different unit # at the same address) and reactivate the service in the new unit. Transfer failed and I was disconnected! I called back and the next guy (Anthony) seemed to know what he was doing, but then told me the Sales dept. needed to reactivate the account because they handle moves (upsell opportunity I was not interested in). Gave me the main phone number as the number for Sales. I told him that is the main number I had just called to get to Support. He said "I guess they changed the number for Sales dept". Transferred me to Sales (which was the main phone number with the same phone tree choices) and guess what happened?!?! Yep, call was disconnected again. I called for the last time. Pressed the applicable number for Sales and (you know what happened next) the call failed I was disconnected for the final time. You cannot even get to Sales! Their phone tree (yes, I know how these systems work) is all screwed up and you cannot get to the people who are supposed to work there to sign-up new customers or service existing ones. Bye bye!

I'm seriously thinking going back to Cox even tho i don't really want to but depending how things go I will decide. Welink did manage to fix the issue on their end same day after half day, as I couldn't fix it on my end because everything checked out good, sometimes you just need to power cycle your POE, router, switch or PC. In this case it was beyond the radio on their network, I been pretty patient with their service and I'm glad their able to fix it but I never had so much service interruptions on COX as i have had with Welink, and believe me even the breezy windy day will affect the wireless radio antenna to a certain extent. Even when it's "working," the constant hiccups are enough to wreck an entire home WiFi setup. One Welink burp and suddenly half your devices are offline, confused, or desynced, and you're spending hours unplugging and manually resetting equipment just to get your house functional again. Their twice‑a‑week "Emergency Maintenance" outages last 2 to 4 hours each, sometimes unannounced, always disruptive. Half the time you call tech support, they insist nothing is wrong while your entire neighborhood is dark. After five years, the only consistent thing about Welink is inconsistency. I am not allowed to share many details but I will speak to the customer experience shortly. It already feels like you're in a jail cell all day but without the convenience of nearby bathroom facilities. The campus is sprawling. each building goes on forever. bathrooms and water are never near. It's not hard to get trapped in a set of hallways. Luckily there are cameras that are monitored in each area so the guards can get a good laugh at you before they finally send someone to break you free. you'll probably get scolded and or condescending to about your mishap for days to come. Dropping off and receiving equipment is pretty straightforward here. I do appreciate that about them. Orderliness: They provide plenty of storage bins so that you can keep your cage looking nice. If there is any MooP (matter out of place) in your cage you can expect a visit from the "foreign contaminate" robot upon your return from lunch. what? references for Wall-E are dated? c'mon this place is just like that spaceship in that movie, LOL. oh yeah, they're pretty good actually.

Choosing Switch for our CoLo needs was absolutely the right decision. Against the competition,…read morethere really is no comparison. We had researched several other sites near the West coast and hadn't found the right fit based on pricing, time-to-cabinet-access, and ability to deliver services promised. When we visited the Switch facility in Las Vegas, we were blown away. I'll never forget walking by row after row of T-SCIFs, realizing that a considerable portion of the Internet surrounded me at that moment. After signing with Switch, it became apparent to us that their presentation of the facility on that first tour was not "special" in any way; it was an exact replica of how they conduct themselves through their website online, in their Sales team, and behind closed doors. This was greatly reassuring and only affirmed the decision we had made. It's easy to assume, seeing the high-tech, polished, flashy nature of Switch, that this is a premium data center with premium services. And you'd be absolutely right. But it would be wrong to assume their pricing is equally premium. As a growing (but small) cloud-services provider, we weren't interested in paying hundreds of thousands in "minimum fees" each month. So, when we were shown pricing that was not only less than what we expected, but even beat out more expensive competitors we were considering, it took no additional consideration for us to move forward. The good news is that Switch can meet your data center needs with highly competitive pricing at any scale--half-cabinet, all the way up to several rows--all while delivering the same premium service and facility access that they are known for. I highly recommend them to anyone needing connectivity, rack space, power, and cooling. You'll be just as blown away as I was and continue to be.
